Barbers always cut my hair too short, especially on the sides and back and because of my round skull and protruding ears it makes me look like a retarded 5 year old chimp. I've noticed that I only ever get asked for ID anymore right after a haircut. No matter what I say they do their thing. How can I tell them that i'd basically like to maintain this length hair and to just clean it up a bit instead of cutting most of it off each time I go? Right now I get a haircut about every 1.5 - 2 months and they always fuck it up.
How much are you spending on haircuts? If you never get what you ask for you’re probably going to shit barbers.

Use a photo editing app or AI to blur the face and then show them the pic. They’ll never know. Figure out the approx. length for the top and then tell them to keep the top that length and taper towards the ears and neck. If your barber/stylist is good, they’ll know exactly what to do with the photo and these instructions.
