I've been taking Finasteride EOD for the last 4 months and it's been great so far, no side effects of course, and I've stopped losing hair, it looks thicker and better now.I still have some recession on my temples, I have some small hairs in there but they won't grow, and I've thought about buying a derma roller, how has it been for y'all?
No. Those won’t even penetrate your skin. Even the battery-operated ones. You need to go to a medspa where they have the derma stamp plugged into the wall. After the session, you should be left with bleeding pinholes.

The idea is not to get intense bleeding, but a local inflammation only - this is enough to stimulate blood flow through scalp and increase absorption of locally applied agents - preferably minoxidil at the highest concentration you can get. Finasteride/Dutasteride, Minoxidil daily and Ketokonazole shampoo every other day are the gold trifecta of male pattern hair loss. Personally, I only use minoxidil and ketokonazole and it works great for me at age 35, I tried microneedling with Dr. Pen several times and simply didn't find need for it - I found it actually more painful on the scalp than on the face. I avoid finasteride and dutasteride due to potential side effects.The only "bleeding" procedure you could get a few times is PRP/fibrinogen-rich plasma injections into your scalp, but only in sterile medical settings.
Roller tangles in hair. But its nice for removing scars on thighs/back/stomach. Stamp is decent, but the penetration is uneven. Pen is about a 10x improvement, but more expensive. 0,2mm is for improving absorption of cream. Nice with something like C or Retinol serum, and then derma rolling it1mm is fine for light scar removal1,5 or 1,7mm is needed for hair regrowth, or deeper scar removal
