I'm going to see Donny Benet in June. Wearing a linen suit and a vintage nautical themed Givenchy watch, wanting to serve a Reaganomics vibe. Need an 80's scent (Not Kouros) that's good for Australia in June (Colder weather).
Retard question. What are your feelings about putting on a frag a few hours before you go to sleep? It reminds me of how people used to perfume their pillows, or how women use essential oil diffusers. Essential oils are gay and retarded, but I've taken to enjoying giving my night shirt a spray of something warm and spicy.
>SOTD: Mercedes Benz Sea. Feels fresh and cold, but....Suggest me some cold fragrances my fellow /frag/sters. Can't be just fresh, I want to feel like I am walking in the middle of a frozen lake in skyrim. Some dude from youtube mentioned that Acqua di Gio Profondo has a very cold ocean vibe to it, I need colder.>>18664080>Retard questionIt isn't, don't devalue yourself. I think it's a good practice honestly, some frags have a calming vibe to them that helps me feel comfy in bed. My current problem is that I feel most of my frags are too potent or invoke alertness from being energetic too much for bed, so it has to be one or two sprays tops and can't be something that's harsh on the nose so warm and spicy works.

>>18664249Akimbo. It's not for everyone. Smells very vintage animalic, like an old lady's mink coat as a date-night scent. The kind of frag that would have been expensive decades ago. I was hoping that same sort of blending mastery was present in their others.
Today's mail call brought in...
>>18664248They're just a clone house, Akimbo is a clone of Aventus for Her.
>Goutal Sables decant has been sentnice. anyone tried it?
Is Klone any decent? I see one person every now and then mention them, but no one acts as if they are actually any good. I'd like to get their Ombre Leather clone (when it's back in stock) to see how it compares to my actual Ombre Leather. No need to pay Tommy all that money if I don't have to.
Has anyone smelt this shit? It’s so good. What perfume bests replicates this scent? I can only describe it as mango and mandarin with woody green notes

>>18663964The most recent formulation is great, but still has no oakmoss. There's still enough vintage formula floating around that finding one isn't hard. It was manufactured in massive quantities back in the day. That being said, vintage PG is my eternal #1 fragrance

>>18664161I have 12 Rogue bottles, including Rostracto, and I would place it in my Top 3 from him I've sampled every one of them except for Ishtar, absolutely impossible to find
>>18664175I own a bottle. It wears very light, which surprised me given the note breakdown. It's the frag with oud and saffron in it that I could wear in the summer as a semi-formal.The violet doesn't bleed through too much, it's overall a very homogenous blend
>>18663696Does it really smell like a new book?
>>18664367Now that u say it, it has a book vibe, but very faint
>>18664338I can't remember what it's supposed to be a clone of, but someone here a few threads back recommended it so I grabbed it because I saw the main thing was leather. It starts out fine, but quickly takes on an overly diesel smell, not a fan at all. It is also one of the few frags I've sampled so far where I'd actually agree with the notion it cannot and should not be worn in hot weather. Even without thoroughly testing it, I can tell this stuff clings and the hot weather would just make that off-putting diesel 10x worse.
>>18663683>https://nstperfume.com/2008/11/14/new-to-perfume-and-want-to-learn-more/I am reading an article in this that's a subarticle about lifetime/lifespan of frags, and they mention using 5 sprays on average and even going up to 10. Yet I commonly see people here say they only use one or two sprays, and this person is saying they very rarely do two sprays and never do one. What should I be doing, or better yet, how can I judge if I've accidentally gone overboard? Should I start to keep a count because I have noticed that some frags will not stand up to outdoor weather at all, and die almost as quickly as they've been put on because the window just... carries them off. Those same frags, if I sprayed twice, just went to my car, got out, and then went to my office for the day would last the whole day but if I do any outside activity they go bye-bye. This has got me thinking whether or not I should try and figure out how to determine when I've gone too far, when I haven't used enough, and write down charts categorizing each of the ones I own.
>>18664404I've tried 5-10 popular arab clones and they're almost always disappointing. You can tangibly smell the IQ difference between a French and Saudi perfumer. The arab version of a frag is always sweetened up, blended worse, cheaper ingredients, etc. I wouldn't trust them on my skin either. Who knows what kind of chemicals they use?>>18664409I use 2-4 sprays of EDT to freshen up before work, but it's with the intention of having subtle projection. If I was going out, especially outside, I would be looking at 5-8 sprays of EDT. With parfum concentration, it would be 1 spray for subtle projection indoors, and 2-3 for outdoors. You also have to look at the longevity and projection of the specific fragrance you're applying. TF Noir Extreme EDP is blended to project in a very specific way for intimate settings, so there's no point to applying more than 3 sprays for me. You also have to consider the weather which has a huge effect on projection
>>18664307Do Indians wear Axe/Lynx?
Is /fa/ just full of scamming jeets and NAFRIs wearing cheesy nightclub getups while smelling like gasoline?
>>18663691>spiritualDior New Look for sure. The frankincense is extremely fresh and diffuse, which, when paired with the super light shimmering aldehydes takes the churchy vibe of the frankincense and makes it completely angelic. Orpheline is also a nice austere cold stony church incense. >carnal and animalicCuoium for sure, maybe Seminalis too. Don’t let the marketing for seminalis fool you, it doesn’t smell like cum. It’s a vanilla sandalwood with a lactonic/animalic twist. Its a little dirty but super cozy. Masque Montecristo might be up your alley too. Its a complex dirty musk with tobacco and rum (i think, i dont have the notes up) which gives it an old manor kind of feeling.
>>18664409>Those same frags, if I sprayed twice, just went to my car, got out, and then went to my office for the day would last the whole day but if I do any outside activity they go bye-bye.The wind is not doing anything to your fragrance longevity. It's all about heat and temperature. If you're in your car I'm guessing you have the AC on, and if you're being actively outside your body is heating up. Fragrance evaporates, that's why we're able to smell it. On skin it evaporates more due to body heat. If you're in a cool place it will not evaporate as much and last longer, while if you're active and warm it will evaporate much faster and not last as long. If you want something to last longer than it does on your skin you can try spraying your clothes. As far as number of sprays it depends on each fragrance. Concentration (Cologne, EDT, EDP) is a rough guide but I just test each fragrance individually. I keep in mind if I have to be careful with how much I spray a fragrance, or if I can spray liberally. I consider 2 sprays max for some and 4-6 average, anything more is for very light colognes. It has to do with you, nobody knows I wear fragrance unless they are really close to me because I intentionally only spray enough so I can smell it. I'm also sensitive to some sweet fragrances so I try not to spray too much of those. Figuring out the right number of sprays is part of the joy of getting to know a fragrance.
>>18664409It depends where you spray. If I mag dump 10 sprays on my chest/torso and then put a shirt and jacket on, it will not really project anywhere except out of my collar and be very intense but within a small bubble. The backs of the hands and neck will project more and so require fewer sprays. If you’re just thinking in terms of your average daily wear to the office, 2-3 under the shirt for personal enjoyment and then 1-2 on the neck for a bit of projection should be fine. You could skip the ones under the shirt if you wanted but I always like to have a little extra for myself. I personally like to wear my niche fecal ouds to work so on those days I just spray 1-2 under my shirt so nobody else can smell it unless they are too close to me anyway.
>>18664409depends on the perfume.can't even imagine 5-10 sprays of most Chong-era Amouages. people would smell you on the next block.but most Floris or Acqua di Parma 5 sprays is reasonable.10 tho?? i think this is the kind of guy who sprays on his neck and goes noseblind, so he loads up.don't spray your neck or behind your ears.
Is Bvlgari Pour Homme good in 2026?
>>18664494>The backs of the handsNever considered that would project much, I spray my wrists which project more.
Someone tells you that from now on you can only use one frag for the rest of your life, what're you picking?
>>18664546I saw a post from a perfumer saying the pH of the inside of the wrist is acidic which can affect the scent itself, so I started spraying the backs of my hands. I also test on the backs of my hands too because its less of an awkward movement to bring your hand to your nose than it is to bring your wrist up. >>18664565Acqua di Gio EDP

>>18664495What do you like from Amouage? I'm the Interlude 53 poster from the last week, and I've had two people ask me what the hell I was wearing (in a good way). One of them even wanted to buy it until I told them the price (but I wasn't going to autistically go into how you can pick up sealed NIBs from trusted resellers on eBay and R*ddit).

Now ive given drakkar noir a true wear its alright. Definitely an overspray required for a good strong scent to reach your nose but its minty and has a good body. Skin scent after about 6 hours but it smells different at that point is quite sexy. The mint does die down and instead you get green and camphour like scent. I might prefer bleu because it is stronger of a frag.
>>18664583Funny I heard a perfumer say not to spray the back of your hand and stick to pulse points. I do test on the back of my hands when I'm wearing something on my wrists. For most people each wrist and each arm ends up smelling different, I wonder if that is due to PH.

>>18664623No. Not even a little bit. Kiehls Musk is something like 97% Galaxolide which is one of the most common white musks, making it the ideal reference for the note. It’s worth noting that Galaxolide may be on the chopping block with the IFRA because of concerns with bioaccumulation, so if you want to try it, you may only have a couple years to pick up the classic formula. The only thing its similar to is other pure musk scents like Jovan. The NR i mentioned is also very very heavy on galaxolide but with some other accords to give it a bit of depth and character. Kouros is a much more complex composition, if there is galaxolide in it, its blended in such a way that I can’t really pick it out individually. >>18664714Hermes makes good perfume. But for me? >>18663691i'll repost my answer from the previous thread since it diedlook into Sorcinelli for something incense forward. the memento line especially is all about incense.personally i'd get the Bianchi discovery set. the frags imo have a nice DNA and they're worth checking out.the Marlou are nice picks. but i did find that Carnicure reminded me of Antaeus and Khiel's Musk, though it is a very nice animalic at its core. if you haven't tried those two, you should.i'd also try Belle de Jour from Eris Parfums. there's this sweaty note that reminded me of sex. weird but niceMegamare and Cuoium could be cool grabs. Iron Duke was an interesting animalic/gunpowder/leather frag.lastly, i'd try Bogue MEM and Salome Papillon. i've heard a lot about those, but haven't had the chance to try them yeti'll add Musc Ravageur for something carnal. it's not super animalic, but a slightly musky and warm spicy frag. i get noticed a lot when i wear it

Enjoying the LV aesthetic bottle, disappointed that the entire cap, including the gold comes off. I guess it makes sense. Avoiding copyright issues. Still cute.
>>18664895>the entire cap, including the gold comes off. I guess it makes sense. Avoiding copyright issues. You can't copyright a design. Some fakes do the same thing because it's easier and cheaper.
>>18664788NTA, but the free bottles aren't the issue. That's expected, how else are you going to do mass reviews on something like this? His point (and it's probably a bit of "The lady doth protest too much") is that there are a lot of channels out there who get any free bottle, shill it as great, and move on. The Sony Swag Bag experience that is so prevalent with content creators who make shit about movies. They actual producers expect a good review, and the guys making the videos will do that so they can keep getting free shit and earn money from ad rev and other streams of income. It's shitty, but it's how things are done.
>>18664772>AmouageThose are both great, especially if you like amber like the other Anon said. He mentioned the bottle he got for $10 bucks wasn't worth the MSRP, he shilled a company that is doing retro decants but didn't shill the decants themselves since he didn't have any, he talked about the story behind that Lost Tribe frag but didn't exactly give it a glowing endorsement. He also poopooed the extremely expensive frags, and also mentioned that At The Kaaba was pretty meh without trying to be deliberately mean. I don't have a dog in this fight, but if he didn't make a video for a year and he went through 19 frags in that video (which he did unless I miscounted), and came away with the notion that only two were worth buying? That's not shameless shilling, IMO. The Sultan dick riding was pretty rough though, I'll give you that, but it did make me want to get a decent of the frag from LS when it comes back in stock since I like Amber heavy frags quite a lot.
Never seen this jewtuber before but why is this poncy fuck being shilled, does he post here. I lasted 5 minutes before I lost concentration due to the irregular flaily arm movements making me irrationally angry.
>>18664975I’m in a few regional fragrance exchange groups on facebook. The admins operate weekly raffles. Usually 25-50 slots for $10-15 each with 3-5 prize bundles the winner can choose from, that are valued at the total entry cost for all the slots. Anyway, I almost won the Margiela but the wheel spin literally went one pixel off of my number. Bummer. >>18665092Idk if he’s being shilled but watching videos of anyone doing reviews on shit that people are already reviewing for free (and more honestly) on parfumo and fragrantica is kind of stupid>but anon the people on those sites are retarded noseletsYeah and so is nearly every single video reviewer.

>>18665053>only two were worth buying? He means only two he would be willing to spend his own money on. He praised all of them and shills them to the viewers. He just wants people to send him free stuff so he has to pretend to not have money or need to be proven wrong.>>18665092I shit on him all the time but he was the only one doing vintage reviews on youtube. He was always doing positive reviews to get free stuff from his followers but once that well ran dry he moved on to shill for "artisanal oud houses". I give him credit for establishing a niche and scamming his followers and oud brands. It's a nice gig if you want to smell like feces.

Help me settle my conflict, brothers. I am currently deciding my definitive citric to be my daily frag. I've already tried both and here is what I've gathered:>D&G Light BlueOpens very citric and fresh, with a very good powdery drydown. Feels soft and casual, understated, which is perfect for me and the frag connects with my vibe immensely. >Legend SpiritOpens kinda weird to be honest, screaming citric but the drydown is the best I've ever felt. Feels like you're getting triple what you paid for, pure classy softness. Now here's the conundrum. A reputable website has both on sale, with great discounts, but there's a few differences>Light Blue is 35% off, 100ml bottle but it's a tester with the cap>Legend Spirit is 27% off, 200ml bottle new but 20$ more expensive than LBSome fucker said something about Montblanc having no soul and it fucked me up because it's actually true, but it smells fresh af though and 20$ for double the size seems like a big deal. Pay for more liquid but new or get the tester for cheap af?
>>18665306answer is always get both. they're cheap too. even if you end up getting one, you'll think about the other non-stop and eventually get it anyway
>>18665306I think light blue is the better fragrance for sure. It sounds like you connect with it more and have nothing bad to say about it, and your draw to the montblanc is that it feels more expensive than it is. 100ml vs 200ml is pretty irrelevant since both are essentially a lifetime supply. You also acknowledge that the montblanc is soulless, so your motivation to buy it is ultimately purely economic rather than being driven by your own taste and true desire.
Redpill on the following please>amouage silver oud>roger aoud>mfk oud I’ll probably end up sampling all 3 anyway but yeah
Reposting from dead thread. Girl I'm seeing wears Gucci Flora (not sure which one exactly by description seems like Gardenia). Literally best women frag I ever smelled. How do I match her power level? I can't fuck it up boys.

Which Le Male flanker is actually the best one for summer? I have Ultra already, and like it, but I can get why some people think it's gay. That won't stop me from wearing it, but I want to know if I am missing out anything. I suspect that the answer is going to be Le Beau EDT, but damn, I like how the Parfum looks so I am curious how they stack up (if that is indeed the answer).
>>18665337NTA, but sell me on it. I refuse to even try Chanel because of their bullshit, but I'll hear you out.
>>18665383le beau le perfum smells like rotten fruit, stay away from iti'd say the original le male edt, other one's a re too sweet for high temperatures
>>18665330would have to know more about her. age, aesthetic, race, anything that would tell you what types of fragrances she would have a predisposition for. if you know her dad's cologne/aftershave, avoid that, but you could go for something in the same style as long as it's distinct and modernizedotherwise just choose something you like from this list, make sure it smells high quality, not super synthetic. take it with a grain of salt though. some of it is women voting for their favorite mens frag on a man, or to wear themselves. https://www.fragrantica.com/awards2025/category/Women-s-Favorite-Men-s-Fragrance
>>18665383I don't like the Le Beau line and I hate Paradise Garden but LBLP is worth a try if you see a tester. I would recommend the original Eros EDT, that's probably what you're looking for. Eros Flame is better for spring/fall.
>>18665415>comment on Fragrancenet:>"Smells just like what my father. I got a bottle for my husband. I love the smell!"Red flag or green flag?
>>18665421green
>>18665421It's a red flag if she doesn't want to be reminded of her dad. When we smell perfume on a woman, it's pleasant and attractive in the right setting, but this attraction is always perceived in a physical or carnal lens. Cologne can also be erotic, but more often it's alluring. It implies character or competence, and when done right is emotionally comforting to women as well. I think this is what women get out of a cologne 'smellling like their dad.' You could analyze it from a Freudian perspective but I think it's a perverse and spiritually harmful thing to do.
>>18665386>I refuse to even try Chanel because of their bullshitwhatcha mean?
>>18665421Green. It implies a good relationship with their father since they enjoy being reminded of them.
>>18665386It's just one of those rare fragrances where everything is just right. The opening is juicy citrus balanced with sharp aldehydes, which give it crisp sort of freshness that doesn't lean too far into the synthetic, but at the same time doesn't present as your typical realistic citrus. It's sleek in the same way the bottle is. It has neroli, which should be enough to sell you because neroli is the best floral note. the entire composition is build on very diffuse notes, including the base of musk and tonka, which makes it ultra light and easy to wear even in the winter. It's contrasting smooth and sharp which makes it interesting. The performance is modest projecting with medium longevity, which makes it mature without being old fashioned. Overall it keeps you hooked with balanced tensions in the composition, sharp and smooth, professional and sexy, mature and fun. I've tried well over 150 fragrance, I love weird shit a lot, but AHS is just so well built and interesting I keep coming back to it. Plus if you don't like aldehydes or want a bit extra longevity the Superleggera flanker is also really good.

>>18665386It's one of many basic freshies. >>18665538>Some Creed frags are very good, the issue is that they're overpriced, some of them vary greatly between batches, and Creed's marketing is largely based on lies.yeah, i didnt mean to say they werent but theres 0 chance i would ever buy a bottle from them at full price so i think we are in full agreement

>>18665547yes
>>18665528boring compositions, focus group flavoured branding, nothing new or groundbreaking just a big net for catching normies moving out of designer and into niche. I have a sample of naxos which is rated #1 unisex on Parfumo and dispite having the a similar core composition to tobacco vanille (slightly sweet vanillic with sharp tobacco), Naxos manages to be more complex and yet somehow worse, for all the bells and whistles they add to it to make it complex are done with such creative poverty that the TF is more interesting due to it's simplicity and minimalism.
>>18665547
Is there anything with the medicinal/herbal lavender note of Pour un Homme but without the vanilla?
>>18665415Thanks. I'm thinking Replica Jazz Club kind of fits an idea. We have noticeable age gap so mature and masculine but laid back and gentle is exactly what's needed. She's also smoking so tobacco notes may hit the spot.

What is the best/easiest way to find out what dupes exist for a frag? Just looking at houses that make dupes isn't helping me to figure out what they're duping.

>>18665610>best applesMacoun
>>18665610I guess that goes back to my original question about finding dupes. The desert scribbles thing I understand, but I have seen a prevailing feeling here that said desert scribbles houses are dogshit which is why they attempt to make dupes. I've also seen past comments in a prior thread about how one of the most popular frags out there (I can't remember which) has so many dupes because despite being very good, it's very easy to make so anyone can make a decent dupe of it. It just sort of feels (so I know I must be wrong) that there has to be a company on there working on the "you take cents to the bank, not percentages" mindset that isn't located in the desert. Where's the white guy in some flyover state or the PNW who sees these expensive as hell designer brands and decided he could do a good job at duping them, and not cost an arm and a leg. I saw a conversation two or three threads back that said Klone was good at duping was just someone cracking a joke or not. I also get that there will always be a "prestige regret" scenario where people look down on a dupe because they think it's cheating to not spend $300, $400, $500 on the designer frag. It's the same thing with cars, watches, electronics, honestly, anything. I always like to drop this nugget I learned back in college during my first business management class where we were being taught the initial principles of advertising and why you advertise, and who you are doing it for. My professor dropped a piece of information that startled me: most advertisement is not about brand awareness, it's about brand reinforcement. He used car commercials as the example. If you turn on the TV and see a commercial from Mercedes about the new S class, the point of that commercial isn't to try and convince you to buy one, that commercial is directed at people who already bought the car to keep them from feeling regret. You know what I am getting at though with the threads made just to talk down at "the poors".

>>18665589desu dupes arent really worth it. you have to test so many of them just to get a sense of which one is actually close to the point where you might as well have just gotten the original. there are some outliers like the super common dupes but they are definitely the exception, not the rule>>18665633that goes without saying for all e whores
>>18665644Fair.
>>18665632The fragrance you're thinking of is BR540. If you've smelled it, or the dupes or "inspirations" that it's spawned you'll pick up why, and it's because it doesn't have any facets that seem natural. Those natural ingredients are part of why dupes seem to fall short. I can't speak from experience, but the market thinks Armaf, Lataffa, French Avenue etc seem to be making pretty close approximations, but there are two things that hold them back and that's budget and expertise. Take a fragrance like Imagination, it's pretty basic, sure, but it will be very difficult for a dupe house to get Black Tea CO2 and stay under budget. They can make black tea accords, but every deviation from the formula is going to take percentage points away from how close it gets. The same is true for any fragrance using natural ingredients like orris butter, vetivers, patchoulis etc. All of these things can be constructed from accords of cheaper material, but they degrade the overall quality. As for expertise, this is also a balancing act. Some big perfumers will do work for dupe houses, but again, the price of the perfumer is going to cut into their material budget. You could also be contending with other factors too, like supply limitations. If Givaudan is the only house making a molecule, they will prioritize making sure the boys at L'Oreal and friends have their supply first, before allowing anything else to go to the arabs or dupers. All of these things culminate in what you see in dupes, where they're a bit harsher and can go pretty far with the similarities, but fall short on the last 5-25% of the original. Is it worth spending 2-5x on the original in order to keep that fraction of character? That's up to you of course, but I think it is. If you have a big collection then you're probably picking up 10ml or less anyway, and if you are looking for a daily driver or two, then you might as well get the thing you actually want because it's a staple in your wardrobe.

>>18665709I would have but I hit the character limit.
My PdE decants showed up. Here's first impressions, best to worst.>Ambre RusseReminds me of CK Shock for men but much higher quality, less sweet, more sophisticated, mildly masculine unisex. It's more of an implied tobacco accord, like the smell of a fresh pack of cigarettes and whatever chemical additives they put in it. Prominent amber and cinnamon. Alcoholic notes are not as strong as I expected. I'm not really into tobacco or alcohol notes, otherwise I would be crazy for this.>Cuir OttomanLeather, iris, labdanum, resins. I'm getting imagery of a very high quality, lived-in black leather couch. I dislike Ombre Leather and Dior Homme Parfum, but I'm liking this. The labdanum is a little too strong for me on first wear.>Azemour Les OrangersOpens with sweet, rindy oranges and dries down into a classic chypre with some modern aspects. The caraway here is stronger than Cartier Declaration. Caraway and hay notes give it a relatively subdued funkiness.>WazambaSmells like a resinous, rustic woody instrument, exactly as it's supposed to (African wasamba). This isn't like a violin and rosin. It's like someone's pouring resin in an unventilated shop for one of those hipster wood slab tables.>AziyadeAwful. Opens with candied fruits, dries down to literal ass sweat. VERY strong caraway / cumin. It's like an old guy with incontinence. I would be disturbed to smell this in public. Performance is bad too.Other than that, I tried Jerxoff Alexandria II which was a massive disappointment. ELDO Fat Electrician was my one hit out of this order. It's a cold weather vetiver, and it really does have an accord of solder and heatshrink.>>18665567Women love Tobacco Vanille also.
>>18665755Damn, if you like Orangers more than Aziyade then Aziyade must truly be awful. I am waiting on my discovery set to arrive next week, and I'll be able to give a (very novice) interpretation of the rest of their lineup. I will say that the two I liked the most out of the few I've tried you also found to be their best. Just a shame they aren't for you. I go crazy for everything in the both of them. Also, ELDO is so funny to me that they make this sort of thing. It's like a group of adults decided to make a serious scratch and sniff company.
>>18665775I'm interested to hear what you think of Eau de Glorie. ELDO actually has some good fragrances like Hermann a mes Cotes, which I love. I consider Fat Electrician unusual but wearable - I still have to try TdH Intense Vetiver and Guerlain Vetiver Parfum before I decide on it.

I just tried Mitsouko and Heure Bleue and I don't get it. Mitsouko did disgust me initially but I'm past that now. I still don't see how it's special yet. >>18665903Which do you think, my brother. It's Fragrancenet. I always get 40% off on there, why would I use anywhere else? Also, why would I drop Myslf, Eros, or Le Se d'Issey? They are routinely some of the most well liked frags out there in their respective field. I only tossed French Lover on there because I saw people liked it enough to break from consensus and list it (partially) as a summer fragrance. That's usually a good sign that they don't give a shit about "the rules" and wear it whenever they want. I can see an easy argument for the JPL and Armani, but I underpants gnomes posting won't make me drop three of the best around just because reasons, especially when they don't conflict with French Lover.

It's a little bit juicy for winter but still justifiably all-season.>Le Sel D'IsseyI got this one as a free sample and wasn't terribly impressed with it. It's okay, a little unique but not enough that I've ever been compelled to go back to my sample. >French LoverHard to go wrong with a FM bottle. Overall it looks like you have way too many summer fragrances here. I would keep French Lover and then pick one, maximum two, of the others. >>18665885I like every Malle fragrance I have but I have only tried 3 which are vintage versions of Portrait of a Lady, Dans Tes Bras, and Cologne Bigarade. Dans Tes Bras you have to sample first because it's very polarizing, even I hate it sometimes because it's easy to overdose, especially in the heat, but other times it's very addicting. PoaL is very powerful, it projects a lot and lasts all day. While it's elegant I personally find it versatile in the right amounts. Cologne Bigarade is, as the name implies, very fleeting but the scent is just stellar and works casually while still being classy.>>18665887>an entire brand can be destroyed like thisHappens all the time, even without acquisitions. It's only relevant if you're willing to invest the time and even more money hunting down vintage versions. Otherwise just decide on what's available. For most people it's not worth it to navigate the pitfalls of vintage. For example a fresh fragrance like Cologne Bigarade might degrade in the top notes so it's best to buy new.
>>18665858I avoid any brand that uses AI but I also avoid brands that make dupes. The Venn diagram of people who buy clones but avoid AI must have so little overlap to be irrelevant. There must be an authenticity personality scale that needs to be studied. We need to find the experiences or genetics markers that affect it. It likely coincides with the political spectrum.
>>18665929Are you looking at other FMs besides french lover? I've only tried Musc Ravageur but it's really nice. Definitely an October-December scent though, it's a cozy musk dressed up with warm spices reminiscent of mulled wine or cider. Are you looking for other summer scents in general? I recently tried Un Air de Bretagne by L'Artisan Parfumeur and thought it was really good. It's more delicate than these designer releases but a captures that sea breeze feeling nicely. What exactly is your aim here? Daily drivers, sampling to expand taste, collecting? Are you looking for nuclear long lasting or are you okay with moderate performance?
>>18665890But what do you mean by 'self important drivel'?
>>18665939Hey, thanks for the recs—I'm always down to explore more from Frederic Malle because their stuff just hits different, you know? French Lover caught my eye for that fresh, green vibe that's perfect for cutting through the NYC humidity without overwhelming everyone on the subway. But Musc Ravageur sounds like a total winner for those cozy fall nights; I can already picture it with a hot cider in hand, fighting off the chill while we organize for change. Mulled wine energy? Sign me up for sampling that come October. As for summer scents in general, yeah, I'm open! Un Air de Bretagne by L'Artisan Parfumeur? That sea breeze capture is exactly the kind of subtle magic I'm craving—something light and evocative that makes you feel like you're escaping the concrete jungle without trying too hard. Designer stuff can be fun, but I love when a fragrance tells a story, like whispering "breathe easy" amid the chaos. My aim here? Mostly expanding my tastes and finding solid daily drivers that align with my vibe—nothing too flashy or "exclusive" that screams privilege, but quality scents that empower and uplift. Sampling is key because who has time (or budget) for full bottles without testing the waters? And performance-wise, I'm good with moderate; nuclear longevity is great for events, but for everyday hustling, I want something that lingers just enough without dominating the room.
>>18665930Anon, I tried a lot and now own a lot from those. >>18665934>>18665939Yeah, I was going to look into other FMs since Masque ended up disappointing me in almost totality. Their two big guns (Russian Tea and Tango), I found to be not as good as other frags I tested from other brands. Now I am moving onto JM since I already have a number of Amouage and PdE in the mail. For certain I am going to probably pick up three bottles of PdE that I don't own if their general record bares out, and Amouage has several scents I haven't tested that are rated very highly so there's a solid chance I get a couple of those as well on top of what I already own. FM seemed like the next logical choice to start working through. I don't mind fall/winter frags even though I live in Florida unless it is one that reacts particularly poorly with the heat. Many of my frags are very distinctly intended to be worn in fall/winter, but they smell great and the heat doesn't make them disgusting. Even the Amouages stand up to the heat well, cheaper shit, not so much. >>18665945Are you schizophrenic?
>>18665898>>18665929MYSLF smells like the laundry detergent aisle at Target, very overpriced for what it is. Kinda loud, something a high schooler would wear, and super basic. Le Sel D'Issey is the better generic clean scent, more sophisticated, and costs 40% as much. It's perfumed by Quentin Bisch, so it's blended in a way that the notes present themselves cohesively as one smell if that makes sense. The individual notes take some effort to pick out. Some people really like this style, some don't.Eros is also kind of loud, but you said you'll probably like it as a fan of Ultra Male. The original Le Male is obviously much closer to Ultra Male, but it's not good in the heat. Eros is good for clubbing, but it's not really a clubbing only fragrance like people say. It's somewhere in-between Le Male and YSL Y. I wore it to school and work back in the day, just go light.I have no experience with ADG Elixir or French Lover, but I will say that Frederic Malle is expensive, even samples of it. There could be better value fragrances to try first if the goal is expanding your taste, like Terre D'Hermes, Encre Noire, Naxos
To the anon that recommended Eau de Rochas Homme instead of Bohemian Lime, Thanks. Just got it today and its amazing.
Any lesser known frankincense fumes? Something that smells like what ancient Egyptians would burn.
>start wearing a $500 fragrance>no one, not even my mom, has said i smell good
>>18666143Which one?
>Start wearing this 15 buck fragrance i bought to fill my cart>3 woman, one of them is my mom said to me i smell good
>>18666143Try $1000 fragrances, that will do the trick.
copped a bottle of this today, haven't worn it since late 90swhat am I in for bros?
Found a decent decant store that has a sale at the moment on some cool stuff. Any suggestions on changing any of these? Most of them I actually want to try, Black Afgano being the main attraction but I could look for other options. The store doesn't have a huge catalogue but there are interesting options. Unfortunately there's no Tom Ford Tobacco Vanile but ToB has a similar profile so I'll try it instead. >>18665309>>18665319Thank you anons. I think I will go for Light Blue first, as it is indeed my most desired fragrance right now, and 100ml should be enough. The financial aspect is indeed a limitation, currently absorbing the fact that the decants I'm getting cost half the money of an 100ml bottle.
Im pretty sure i cant smell ambroxia, what are some ambroxia heavy fragances besides molecule 02? Just to buy some decants and test
opinions?
>>18666097Literally papillon anubis
>>18666243i think that there's something funny going on with jewish people
I finished a whole bottle of Drakkar Noir today. Feels good. >SOTD Drakkar Noir
>>18666154What fragrance?
>>18666243Do people just memorize color to fragrance name for PdM?
>>18666175the most basic bitch citric fresh frag ever
>>18666279
>>18666347>two masculine coded>two feminine coded>one unisex codedThat's why they like it.
>>18666175Longevity is poo but it is a good scent.Ck one essence is much better. I hope you didnt pay much.
>>18666214>ToBHaven't tried it, but I'm always wary of brands that lean super heavily on fancy bottles. Parfumo is saying it's sweet fruity, where TV is sweet spicy. Might not be the profile you're looking for. Chergui could be closer to what you want. It has a similar tobacco to TV but instead of sweet vanilla its drier and creamier. >Bleu EDPCorrect. EDP and EDT are the only good ones from the line.>Black AfganoCool scent, lives up to the hype. >SpicebombMight be closer to TV than chergui or ToB, been a while since I've smelled it though. anyway looks like a nicely varied set anon, enjoy.
>>18666278Nice>>18666243Pic related, don't
>>18666499wtf is the red lightning bolt one.
>>18666214The Acqua di Gio line is getting ridiculous... so many flankers, then flankers of the flankers. Gotta give them credit though, Profondo (2020) is the best designer aquatic I've tried.
>>18666518Flanker slop for the goyim. Try to get into fougeres.
I know this fougère anon does not have our best interests in mind, but woman over 40 love them, got tons of comments while wearing eternity and cool water
>>18666527>I know this fougère anon does not have our best interests in mindI do. Get fougeres, don't be a cuck.
>when you realize "reformulations" are just a grift pushed by scalpers trying to push old bottles for inflated prices and individuals way too obsessed with a particular fragrance to a degree no one else cares about
>>18666243pdm is slop
>>18666518AdG Elixir is decent. It's like half AdG, half Gucci Guilty Absolute, and dries down sweet-ish.
>>18666533same as batch autism. I have seen regular aventus bottles going for 250-350 secondhand but if it's a hecking legendary F batch or first edition they will SELL at 700+ to other retards. It has to be a brown people status thing, Aventus is a nice scent but it's not that special.
>>18666539I like it too, it's the only AdG I'd consider buying, but there's no way I'd get it at full price (about $3/ml).
>>18666533Batch autismo is absurd but reformulations happen and rarely for the better so if you know what you're doing, getting an earlier bottle is trivial.
