How do you feel about the fact that you'll never look as good as some Polish 13-year-old from the 1970s? You can wear wool and all that, but that teenager will still look better doing polyestermaxxing.

A lot of what I own as far as trousers go are literally just thrifted rayon and polyester ones. The fit is classic on these old slacks: high waist, spacious-flowing fit. I delicately machine-wash and they turn out great. They hold their creases.
Many of my favourite blazers happen to be wool-polyester blend. They don't get too stale, seems a blend is often a sweet spot. I have two full polyester that are impressive for being synthetic. But my preference for a top is usually a pure-wool tweed.
With ties my preference is silk and wool, but I've some poly in my collection.
I'm all for polyester when it's vintage. The rumpled-scrawny Zara trash can rot though.
