The whole "angels" thing was about adding this fantasy sort of element. That's why they used to do bright fun colors, lace, bows, etc. It was about making women feel good wearing their underwear The body positivity movement and the DEI movement stopped that. Remember, VS is a public company so they have to do what the shareholders want. Suddenly a bunch of white skinny supermodels was evil and wrong for their unrealistic expectations of women and their bodies. Suddenly VS was about plus size models, non-whites in ads, they got rid of the fashion show, etc. And that's when the brand started to die. They've reversed course on a lot of stuff like bringing back fashion show, but the damage is done. People have moved to other brands Personally, I like to buy my wife stuff from Adore Me which is like the old Victoria's Secret with the fun, bright bold options. Ironically, VS acquired Adore Me so we'll see if they end up ruining that too
