Not sure who this is. In my opinion, he can keep the overshirt/jacket, but he should change his shirt from a navy to more of a muted or off white color. The shirt and jacket are two shades of navy that are way too close to one another and seem to be battling. Also, he should have just opted for regular leather dress shoes instead of gay faux leather sneakers. The proportions and silhouette are good overall though

The girlfriend’s outfit isn’t perfect, but what he was wearing before is squarely in the “millennial who thinks dressing like a 2010s IT worker is ‘timeless’” category. I’m a millennial and think his original outfit looks fine since it’s the style I came of age with, but it clearly makes him look like a guy who browsed r/mfa in his early 20s and internalized what he learned there as being the “right way” to dress from that point on until retirement.
