how do i prevent my hair from getting puffy when it’s medium- long. i usually wear my hair long but when i get cut back down to medium sometimes its gets really puffy and looks like shit when it’s growing out again. happens maybe 1/3 times i get my haircut.

pretty happy with the top part of my hair, need to fix the roots a little in the front but i digress. planning on doing a restorative hair mask tonight and then a light bleach wash for my ends to lighten up. then going to do a toner to make it really white-ish so the pastel purple can come thru properly. so excited to feel alive with a fun color soon

I want to know how to manage my hair without blasting it with poison chemicals. My hair used to be an absolutely frizzy mess, and it was clearly somewhat curly but it never really looked like it. I thought it was a monstrocity. My sister suggested using curly hair products and so I have ever since and it helped a lot. I never brush it unless it's wet and I've just taken a shower because that's when it brushes best for me and I don't rip my head apart. I like the form it brings to my hair more than when it was poofed past my shoulders. It also in general seems to want to maintain form long after using anything on it, but then again, I pretty much avoid brushing it.What should I know? how were people maintaining their hairs before the days of blasting them with poison chemicles and waring against God's fearfully and wonderfully made invention?
