Within the few years and definitely by the time we reach the mid-2030s we're going to see a cultural shift to more conservative outfits, not exactly suits and ties when walking into pharmacy to pick up your prescription but at the very least khakis, slacks, relaxed dress shirts, etc

If you're a streetwear faggot I'm here to tell you the shit's ending soon and there's going to be a point where turbonormies will absolutely roast you on the spit for "not dressing as an adult" and you're going to be compared to the faggot at Walmart wearing nothing but pajamas and a cum-stained T-Shirt. Doesn't matter how much you've spent and cool you are removed from the clothes, the casualness of this decade or so is ending and it's all going to be compared to pic. And by the way, I say this as a lover of street wear myself.

I know politics is the last thing people want to see here, but nothing escapes the culture wars. And just like everything else you're to see this shit politized, on the left and right, clothes are going to get sharper and cleaner. With the real pivot being this being used to establish legitimacy and an air of seriousness and competence post-Trump years with all of this trickling down to broader society. Seethe, cope and cry, I don't care but that's what's happening..

Hopefully you’re right. What you’re saying makes sense on its face.

are you the "high waist pants are best" anon?

I don't see conservative outfits being more popular, at least in the States, due to how government members dress. It's a specific look.

the jeans were invented for a reason

if most of the people are still doing manual jobs as a norm, and not office or academic jobs, then jeans will still be trendy because they are practical, durable, and look good enough

people still wear jeans? I traded my cowboy cut wranglers out for Carhartt years ago and haven't looked back.

of course they do in most of the world if they care even just a little about their public appearance

Your theory holds water but I have some problems with it. I could see streetwear trends shifting to formal looks (in some ways they already are) but among a majority of adults, style of dress is largely determined by work. If you take your average grocery store at 5pm on a weekday, you'll see a wide variety of styles but they're all determined by what those people wore to work. Some of the people you see will already be wearing office cloths, so then it becomes a question of whether or not jobs with lower dress standards will raise the bar. Tech, trades, teaching, health, hospitality, all these would need to buck the trend of the last 60 years before athleisure will be defeated. Work from home jobs are an even bigger impediment.
