I wonder if I'll ever find the Swatch I had when I was 8. This is not it.
>>18674077Report me then, incel. Can't have any violations of the rules. I guess our days are numbered here. lol
Holy shit, I just found out Invicta has been around 189 years. Weird how reputations can fall over the generations removed from the Swiss roots.
Of course for all I know Invicta has always been a laughing stock. I just assume at one time they were probably not. I'm sure there are other examples of once great names being cheapened over time. National Lampoon. There's one. They really rode that into the ground, didn't they?So I have about 60 hours left to choose a watch and spend my $50 coupon. Still taking suggestions. This thing is neat looking. A bit out of my usual neighborhood of styles.
I really like this one. The unique dial, the numbers, the size (34mm-36mm). Never seen anything quite like it.
This watch rules. But apparently is loses 5 minutes a day most days. Even though I don't care about accuracy, I care to some degree. I can't go for that. No, no.I said "no can do".But I'm going to keep my eye out for a better version of it. It would be great if it were accurate. It would be more expensive too.
Found a guy selling one of these used on ebay for $200 and found I can snag one new for $154!I have so many black dial watches already though I thought I'd get one of these cool colored ones with the sunburst/vignette effect. Leaning towards the green. The yellow is really cool but a bit out there. Blue and light blue bore me. I've made that mistake before. Looking at you, Benyar. Anyway, sweet deal if you look. These are otherwise around $200 and up even elsewhere on ali.Glad I didn't grab a Pagani version of this. Cronos is up there with Proxima and San Martin as far as the better brands of Aliexpress. Always get great reviews. The black one is a straight ripoff of the Rolex, but these ones are slightly more unique. You guys know how much I care about design heritage.
Design language I meant. Design heritage also sounds like some bullshit you'd hear though. lol

Which they should for most stuff from the last 100 years you’d think.Just every company’s offerings listed by year.It would benefit the entire industry.

>>18674231I like those too. I'm sure it's good. The only thing from them that I've heard sucks is their reverso scratches the back side when sliding it in and out. But it doesn't affect the crystal so all is good. And they've probably even fixed that since the review I saw. That's what I dig about those companies is that they improve super fast. Any little quibble you see a reviewer make, 6 months later when the new line is released it's fixed. They listen. And it's really leveling the playing field for us little people who want to experience so many great styles. You certainly won't be as leery of wearing that thing around as you would if it were the $1,000 one. And the sale is for another couple days I think, so score the best price you can. I just pulled the trigger on that green Cronos for over $60 less than another company was offering it.That's a jump hour, right?

Nice solar watch for summertime.
>>18675432Nice, model?
>>18675436RA-WK0002E10BSold out on their website, but only $150 on Jomashop. A good solar charge will run it six months apparently. I know all of my quartz battery watches are going to to tits up about the same time in a couple years. But the solars won't.I'm not big on Roman numerals usually, but I like them here. And I wanted an Orient Bambino for the collection. No date, no lume. And I got lucky in that the second hand actually hits all the minute markers evenly. My solar Citizen is off by about 20% and bugs me a little.Could be worse. I saw a video of some poor dude who went to Japan to buy a Grand Seiko, bought it, then realized that the second hand was misaligned. The company told him to go back to the store, and the store said there was "nothing they could do" because he'd left the building with it. Their hands were tied I guess. No returns. Can you imagine traveling to the country of origin for your grail watch, dropping thousands of dollars, and then being stuck with an imperfection like that?Isn't the whole point of buying a fancy "luxury" watch that things like that are never an issue? LOL, and then they just say "too bad, sir. You should have noticed that before you paid and walked out."What a fucking gyp. I wonder if those G.S. doofuses here on the board have that issue. They probably wouldn't admit it if they did.
>>18675446I am stunned. What do you mean they wouldn't service it and correct that problem? That seems insane.
>>18675451idk, man. You'd have to watch the video. I don't know who did it even. Asian American youtube channel host. I'm sure you could find it searching 'Grand Seiko regret' or the like. By the end he's convinced himself that he is cool with it as a learning experience, but that's gotta just be self-delusion. I'd demand so much more for that kind of money.
>>18675460Odd as hell. Appreciate the model number though.
This is really cool, but 33mm is a little small. I think I'm going to go for one of these 'new old stock' watches though. Seems so cool to have something that's old and new at the same time. Some forgotten style that never sold well in the first place, from some brand that's maybe gone, but the watch is Swiss made and never worn. I love the retro looks of some of them. Look at this green thing. 36mm too. They didn't make big-ass watches back then. I'm seeing all these mens watches 30mm to 36mm or smaller even. I'm having a hard time deciding.
>>18675466This is the 33mm I was going to post when I started writing that. I forgot.
This might be the one. $300. Has a really cool think cut crystal on it. It's 32mm x 36mm.
oh my god look at this thing! It's like something a character in the Regal Beagle would wear.I just don't know how much I would wear something like this. Yet I want to own it. If I could get a wall clock just like it I would. I thought I'd always hate that 70s aesthetic that preceded my birth by a few years. But now I really "dig it", man.

I don't care for the watch at all, but I think the changeable bezel idea is neat. They could be so much more than just identical, round ones in different colors though.
This watch is so cool looking. I really wish I could just have them all.
Anon, are you just posting to stay ahead of the split threads going on right now in the other watch general?
I think I'm gonna get a Swatch. This seems super cool. And you can see it running through the top of the dial.>A Superb 1993 Swatch AUTOMATIC Watch SAK109 HAPPY WHEELS, Mint Condition. Tested and keeping excellent time as it should. The SAK109 is part of the Originals Automatic line — the very first time Swatch moved beyond quartz and introduced mechanical automatic movements into their famously affordable plastic watches. This was a big deal because:• It used a Swiss ETA automatic movement, visible through the transparent case.• It proved Swatch could merge Swiss mechanical tradition with their playful, accessible design philosophy.• It helped Swatch reassert Swiss watchmaking creativity during the post–Quartz Crisis recovery.
>>18675534Looks gorgeous in the video. The strap is like lemon jelly. I kind of always wanted another Swatch (had one as a little kid in the late 80s), but I didn't know they had autos like this. And that I can get a variety of new ones for just over $100.They may not last forever; they weren't designed to. But so many are still in the box because they made a ton of them. Some have dorky 90s tie-ins that must make them undesirable for sure. But if it's a Swiss ETA on the inside, you really just have to worry about the plastic and rubbery outer parts wearing out. And that's up to me and the care I take with it.So fucking cool.
YES! I kept shopping and found one even better. It's just as colorful as the Happy Wheels above, but not always. From the front it looks like a simple gold dial with Roman numerals. Not unlike my spider web Shanghai. But when you tilt it it goes all gay pride rainbow prisms! And you still get the window at 12 to watch that nice movement go. The one I got is new with box and papers, has a unique prototype strap, and has never been worn. So they say at least. I'm super excited about this. I've been going back and forth a few days; Should I get a vintage watch? Another cheap new Jomashop watch like a Seiko 5 or a Citizen? Another Chinese brand? An expensive new watch I can get a deal on, like a half off Murph? All were the wrong ideas. Been there, done that. This feels like a new direction entirely in a way. A fruity rubber watch from '94 with a Swiss ETA in it. Nice blue strap, no date complication, no real compromise here. I almost pulled the trigger on so many 50 year old 'NOS' watches. I'll still get some beautifully ugly, ovoid, olive and gold disco watch someday. But this Swatch has me really excited. And after my coupon it came out to $78. So I managed to pretty much spend the minimum I had to in order to redeem it, but I think I'm gonna get maximum satisfaction. Back when this watch was released I would have thought the crystal was the coolest thing ever. And I still kind of do. It pleases kid me and adult me. Not an everyday wear to be sure, but a definite score for the collection. Thanks for reading my blog. Check out the prism effect on it here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tbsecAMA0s
>>18675293There aren't even prices on that site. Very helpful indeed.
>>18675574For example. Maybe something like this.Pocket watches hit luxury price range quickly with designers. How about a less junked up dial, field watch with a metal bracelet. I think you could find some with the numerals in old timey railroad style if you dug around.

>>18675703Bet you can find the watch on Alibaba without any branding but it'll say Patek Philip when it comes in. This is a tail as old as time. That one company who makes Nomos clones does this same thing.
>>18676218I bought a pocketknife from ali recently just because it had the features I wanted. the pictures had no branding on the knife or box. when I got it, it had the Benchmade logo on the blade and the box, even the instruction booklet and warranty card had been duplicated. I wonder how disappointed someone making a warranty claim is when Benchmade tells them theirs is bootleg and they spent $200 on a knife their retailer bought for $8
>>18676273Yeah. There are perfect clones out there for knives. Benchmade, Micro, etc. Their monopoly was broken years ago by boutique sellers on Ali. Some can pass better than others. I bought three of the same knife from Micro from three different sellers to check for accuracy, and one of them will pass every single check you could do besides sending it straight to Micro for them to look at and tell you the SN is fake. They do batch numbers, etch the date they were actually made rather than a static number they use over and over. It's insane.
>>18676282I was definitely surprised. the trademark smoothness from the flick is not there because the real ones use a ball bearing. you can feel it's not that, and a guy in the comments said he took it apart: bushings. but it's still a great knife, razor sharp (I shaved off some leg hair to check) and only $8 for something I will inevitably lose. I'm super happy with it but honestly I'd prefer it was unbranded like how it was shown.

>>18676299Look for legacy "brands". They tend to cost a bit more, but there is a reason why. if you want a Micro that you could trick anyone with, you buy from FOOH. His only issue is small selection, which makes sense because it's probably a tiny shop. It's unreal though.

You'd just buy cards i would sell (random packs of cards, like Pokemons), with alll the specs of watches (so they could collect them and look at them). Every watch has different attributes (some have better water resistance, some have more swag, more magnetic resistance, and so on), so you can have some kind of battle like a rock-paper-scissor system.I wonder if it would sell. >>18677076Zeppelin watches ARE the cheap alternative to Brietling, Vulcain and so on.
>>18677098No I'm a normal human bean but watches also aren't made of silver. We're talking about the color silver.
>>18677098He could probably do some rhodium plating and call it a day. Unless there's some esoteric factor about the presence of silver itself and it's not just a chemical reaction upon touch.
60-ish doll hairs, sapphire crystal, mecha quartz movement. Kinda wanted to dip my toes into brands like this. Does Addiesdive suck?
>>18676771I wanna get a red one but I never can really find a fantastic price
>>18677129>Does Addiesdive suck?literally -the- cheap chinese watch to get if you want that kind of thing, no they don't suck
>>18677099I figured, but maybe I was hoping there was a timex or something for under a 100$ with the same aesthetic
>>18676476I think he meant GRIDS. Retroviruses for retro homos. It checks out

>>18677263Yes. And salt, and garlic, and steak knife, and everything else near the coffee goes into it. Fucking retard.
This is a first. I opened a return request for that Pagani >>18676351and they want to give me $20 not to send it back. I just don't see myself wearing it. Honestly i wish i'd also returned the Batman GMT. Just too much watch.

Having worn this watch a ton since sizing it correctly, I really quite like it. More than I expected I would. Not a daily kind of watch for me though. I certainly wouldn’t want one of the bigger ones. 37mm is about perfect for this shape.
>>18677400Antifa barista lookinass watch.
>>18677435>>18677425Lets the vampire know its night time and requires no daylight for probably at least 3 years. If it was an antiquated case it would be better but vampire wanna blend in.
>>18677446What about a watch for a vampire than has daylight immunity?
>>18676076>base metal bezelThat can't be good.
>>18677449Maybe something like this or an antiquity cartier tank. Both pretty normie for blending in, while being classy. I discovered Americans buy bulovas at CostCoI wonder if a vampire would prefer roman numerals tho.
>>18677470This is yellow and brown. No. Has to be silver and black.>antiquity cartier tankAren't those a billion dollars? Not all vampires are rich.>I wonder if a vampire would prefer roman numerals tho.100%
>>18677481These things certainly hold more value than i expected. Atleast from memory i thought itd be around 2k. Seems the worth is gonna grow on those from being double that for white gold plating. Not quite antique tho its doable for some.A cartier tank large black dial, steel bracelet. Homage would work tho.
>>18677522I'd buy this if it was under 5 hunnid.
>>18677301You're a real madlad
>>18677449Maybe something that could pass as gothic style. Not sure about the cross though.
>>18677531How about a cheaky chinky special.
>>18675201Mondaine SBB Classic? It's somehow related to the clocks on the Swiss train stations, I don't know.
>>18677600Souless and no aura.>>18677586Kinda cool but also kinda cheap looking.
>>18677612>cheapYour vampiric majesty, there's a watch for you
>>18677612I think u better start saving for that 80’s plated cartier then, dude. Maybe youll get lucky and find a cheap one hunting cash exchange and pawn shops. There are some european brands like Christ that have funny aura points.
Venezianico do actually have some cool watches. I'll keep an eye on them. They're kinda too big for my slim wrist though, even the 36 I think.>>18677613This doesn't really look $21k cool.>>18677614The tank isn't that cool and I don't need a watch that expensive, plus they're also big.
>>18677612Giorgio Galli S1 AutomaticMy LAST attempt for vampire wannable. Pretend its a philosophers stone or some shit like adrop of crystallised blood in the dial.
>>18677620Nah this looks goofy. Cool recs overall though.

Q Timex Red Weinstien 1978 Reissue, up for preorder.
>>18677663Pretty cool. Is that 38mm?
>>18677694Yes.Its actual name is red vega, pulp fiction fans also call it the red galaxy. Its a well sought after cult film collectible.Fans of pulp fiction cosplay john travoltas character and wear it.
>>18677696Really? Vincent Vega wears that? I have seen that movie 100 times and I thought Butch's watch was the only one featured. But I wasn't into watches when I was so into that movie.

40mm PRX on after a year almost, feels huge after wearing smaller stuff or nothing at all for a while.
Some days I wear this thing just out of a sense of obligation, because I’ve bought the nice bracelet and it’s supposedly this great watch.Well, it isn’t. It’s fine. It’s acceptable.Seiko 5: Making your “shitters” look and feel like absolute luxury in comparison.

45mm with a 24mm band is fucking huge, but it's a sweet watch if you can pull it off.

>>18678114>>18678115You don't own them though so you don't know. You just parrot snob opinions because you don't actually collect watches. Go to one of the other threads where people pretend they'd really spend thousands on watches. You're not actually participating anyway.
