I want to get my first western hat. I am not a huge fan of the traditional cowboy style with the curved up brim. I'm definitely more into the telescope flat brim style Anyway, what materials are best? I'm seeing straw is good for summer but felt is best overall. Beaver felt is the king of felt from what I'm seeing

I'm working jeans out of my wardrobe rotation and gearing it more towards something like this. What Leonardo DiCaprio had on in The Quick and the Dead. Textured blazers, button-ups only, slightly open collar for less formal outings.Black or charcoal trousers and blazers only—never matching unless it’s actually formal and then I'll also add a tie and vest.I only wear cattleman's crease in my hats too. I don't like the associations with Indiana Jones and fedoras that come with pinched front crowns.
