Western clothing thread for those who celebrate
The exotics are cool and all but the simple leathers like cowhide are really it for mePiracucu is hideous to me
What modern jeans will get me the closest to these ones? Are Levis 501s close?
>>18679724Golf?
>>18679710Love that this is becoming a recurring thread. Have been watching the trilogy with my girlfriend recently.Anyway, always a big fan of extras and second roles in those movies. Always liked Groggy (Luigi Pistilli) in FAFDM
>>18679863He plays Tuco's brother the priest in TGTBTUGood actor
>>18679839looks like a little downtime between filming. he's wearing his character's costume minus the vest and hat, which shows how modern the outfit really is
Can't help but thinking these Freenote Cloth pants would be something you'd see in a spaghetti western movieI kinda like them
>>18679724Probably some vintage 505 or repro would give you the closest look. Maybe LVC 1967 505.
Can exotics get wet? Or handle any weather? I want to get some pythons, can they handle real life?
>>18679934I mean, snakes live outside and get. But in all seriousness, I'm sure the can, but if I owned a pair they wouldn't be the one I reach for when it's raining
I want to get my first western hat. I am not a huge fan of the traditional cowboy style with the curved up brim. I'm definitely more into the telescope flat brim style Anyway, what materials are best? I'm seeing straw is good for summer but felt is best overall. Beaver felt is the king of felt from what I'm seeing
>>18679878These are cool and neat
>>18680096rabbit felt is good enough
>>18679724Marlboro Classics made western inspired clothing. Lots of it on the used market today (at least in Europe)>>18679839I like my Akubra. It's rabbit fur and has a slightly curved brim but that helps with the wind
>>18680319'Mirin that stache, brother
I'm working jeans out of my wardrobe rotation and gearing it more towards something like this. What Leonardo DiCaprio had on in The Quick and the Dead. Textured blazers, button-ups only, slightly open collar for less formal outings.Black or charcoal trousers and blazers only—never matching unless it’s actually formal and then I'll also add a tie and vest.I only wear cattleman's crease in my hats too. I don't like the associations with Indiana Jones and fedoras that come with pinched front crowns.
>>18679710This style without the obvious bullet belts could be seen in public as "pushing it" but not as weird as extravagant goth stuff. Personally I'm a fan of denim jackets.>>18680319not a fan of mustaches but you're doing something right
>>18679710So isn't this basically just "menswear" but with cowboy boots?
I just watched Hostiles (not bad, was expecting more from what I've heard about it, but overall would recommend) and now I kinda want a shirt like Bale's.
>>18680368No lol what a sweeb
>>186803192-3 years to dagestan and forget
>>18679710u guys are going to look so retarded
>>18680498No I look like a cowboy
>>18680498Western clothing is completely normal where I live
how do i dress to attract women like this?
>>18680655Like this of course
>>18680702I heard Delon was in a spaghetti western but I've never seen it yet. Something about a samurai lmao
>>18680655iirc she gets raped but likes it, the cool tall guy
why cant i find any gosh darned roughout tanned cowboy boots besides the pecos dangnabbit
>>18680886She gets raped in a dominance display by the villain (Henry Fonda ironically) to make her sell the property or bad things will happen But yeah
>>18680888Chisos does a nice one but I believe theirs has a zipper which is disappointing
>>18680801Red Sun, picture you saw
I just want some cowboy boots with vibram sole
>>18681249Love those 60's slim straight pants. Modern slim cuts are usually too tapered.
>>18681317Who makes some good ones in that style?
>>18680498Have you seen how the average pleb dresses? They're the retarded looking ones.
whats the etiquette regarding tucking in or going over the cowboy boots with the pants?
>>18681484It's pretty much established that unless you're riding or working, pants go outside the boots
Can I get a good list of cowboy boot brands that are still good? I HATE Rose Anshill but his video (though flawed) did a good job at showing how so many brands make a shitty product. The Luccheses cut open was especially damning
>>18681414If I knew, I would own several pairs by now. Closest thing I've found is repros of 60's levis 505. But that's limited to jeans.
>>18681283pleze halp
>>18681493wut if my pants r 2 skinny to put over boot?
>>18681531Cringe
>>18681535but technically i would be working as I am at the office (like im talking dress pants), so could go into boot
>>18681539anon, please, PLEASE, tuck your dress pants into your cowboy boots at the office. I implore you
>>18681546I'm the boss btw, my wage slaves wont say shit
>>18681564Managing wagies is almost as bad as being a wagie t. been there done that
>>18681578I agree but I own the business so I have no choice
>>18680319Nice fit OP, nailed facial hair too. The rest?
>>18681529>>18681283Justin has a few options
>>18681414try one sizing 511s up, it kinda works for me. it depends on your build if youre fat its jober. but yeah like the anon said its an era thing.
>>18681636Oh yeah, forgot about those. The bad thing about the 511s is that the rise is a bit on the lower side compared to the 60's cut. But on the plus side, Levis does (or did, not surely if they're currently in production) cotton twill 511s in navy blue. Guess the closest thing you canbget to Eastwood's dollar trilogy pants. With a bit of digging you can find a pair for cheap on secondhand apps.
If you don't mind skipping past the 60's/70's spaghetti western styling and want something a bit more historical inspired you can try for some higher waist trousers. The canvas ones are thick and tough. you'd need bracers/suspenders. They do have a back drawstring too.You can rock a fit like this that imo looks pretty decent for the aesthetic.https://historicalemporium.com/search?q=frontier+classicshttps://www.wwmerc.com/cgi-bin/Category.cgi?category=3930&type=store
>>18680466i'm in Aus, but i'd image the US western brands would have it.Usually here they are called half button or half placket work shirts. All the country/rural/saddlry workstores would have them here. They got to be tucked in, they're usually quite long.
>>18681789the gaiters look pretty good. hard to pull off in this day and age tho
>>18681659>cotton twill 511s in navy blueyep i own these. i want to say theyre 8-10 years
>>18681789damn these fits are so fire
>>18681789>neutrals nigga Based wardrobe builders
Tan roughout cowboy boot with rubber sole so I can wear it in weather without slipping. Is the pecos the only thing that fits this bill?
>>18681864That I'm aware of, yeah. Other brands do tan ropers but not with the rubber sole
>>18681794Not teally, if you remove the holsters, gaiters and the hats (or switch them to more modern versions). Dude in the light brown jacket coukd walk down any street and noone would bat an eye.
>>18682063OK someone here explain to me the boot etiquette going on. Why does Blue pants tuck and Green coat man has his pants go over the boots
>>18680593nobody dresses like a period film where you live
>>18682149we're just getting inspo and having a bit of fun, retard. stop taking everything so seriously, no one makes it out alive anywayi live in texas, there were 3 people at my company wearing cowboy boots today. i saw a cowboy hat in someone's car in the parking lot.
>>18682124hard to tell from the pic but right might be wearing chaps over his pants. and if not, it's all just preference anyway
>coming home and burying my bone in my frontier wife
>>18682190
>>18682171 I'm in calgary. I wore a cowboy hat and a cowboy belt to work. Tomorrow im gonna wear cowboy boots because it finally fucking stopped snowing
>>18682247Man, Silverado was such a fun yet underrated film.
>>18682248this are some absolutely top shelf tremendous tits
>>18682505I like them. What brand?
>>18682515Alberta Boot
>>18682248Who?
Lots of gay fits in this thread. Let's get it back on track.>The very underrated fit of Blondie at the Beginning of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Rod Steiger was never ever seen as the cool guy
Jean-Louis Trintignant in Il Grande Silenzio
Far from the coolest fit in Keoma, far from the best score also
>>18682659>zoomies don't know who drew Barrymore is We're lost as a people
Cool fits, not so cool movie tho
>>18682706thread ruined
>>18682661His fit in the beginning of the movie was so good. Of course his fit at the end became iconic, but the first one was fire
>>18682668>>18682776Love the stripes
>>18682775It's actually The Wild Bunch
>>18682710Agree with you. Love the patterned shirt, the color palette and overall silhouette with the long coat. Pants in boots is more perio accurate. Always thought the way he gets his poncho at the end doesn't make much sense (should have been in a frontier setting) but I guess they needed it for marketing material. Doesn't ruin the movie anyways. This thread could do with some interior design or spaghetti western landscapes. Almería/Las Tabernas really give that specific vibe and I love how some of the interiors are rustic with this very European, sometimes even Italian tones. Think statues in the church or army hospital
>>18682832
>>18682832>Always thought the way he gets his poncho at the end doesn't make much sense (should have been in a frontier setting) but I guess they needed it for marketing material.it doesnt make sense bc the poncho was leones and they said fuck it just grab it
cowboy boot makers that don't suck?
https://stetson.com/products/kelso-outdoor-hat-blackWhen something says "100% wool" they mean wool felt right? Does wool always mean sheep in this context? I heard rabbit and beaver felt is good. I dunno bros I've never bought a hat before but I really want one just want to make sure i'm getting something good that will last forever
>>18683690wool is cgeao but isnt stiff and will not last too long, beaver is the best and will last your whole life but its not cheap, best is to go to a place where they make them and have it shaped there for you.
>>18683700>wool is cgeao???
>>18683708cheap
>>18683690Here's what my hat that I got made back in October
>>18683713hell yeah brother. tell us more about it
>>18683734be aware that ,at least for me, some places may be more specialized at making specific cowboy hats than others. they place I went to was more for making 10 gallon hats but they didn't decline making the hat, however the hat templates they had were sized more for 10 gallons and my hat was pretty short so it bulges in the middle a little rather than being straight but it still turned out great and I love it. but be sure to research all the places that make them before you get one.
>>18683647Anderson Bean out of Texas
>>18683783Is this AI upscale?
>>18681414>>18681636Fellas, I've been thrifting and scouring secondhand apps and found a pair that fits closely to that style. The Levis 615 orange tab. It fits tight at the waist (it's somewhat angled in) with a mid to high rise with the back pockets firmly in yhe butt rather than mid-thigh.The leg is straight, fitted with a minimal tapering that gives it that tailored look quite close to that 60's slim look.Word of advice, though, these vintage Levis size smaller than the current production and in many cases have been washed so much they shrank even further. So ask for meassurements and maybe go up one size.
>>18679724The obvious answer is wrangler cowboy cut jeans, probably slim fit
>>18684152my biggest issue with Wrangler is I just don't like the back pockets. I don't like the "W" stitching or the leather patch in the middle of the pocket
>>18684158The cowboy cuts have a shitty ribber patcha ypu can take out easily with a seam ripper.
>>18684166it's not even leather? it's rubber? I'll just stick to my 501s
>>18684168Yeah, that's why lots of folks get rid of it. It is actually very easy to remove and in a couple of washes you can't tell it was there. There's a higher-end bluebell version with a leathet patch, but it costs about double.
>>18683690I'd avoid these really cheap hats. If you want my honest recommendation look on marketplace for old cheap beaver hats and just go pay to get them cleaned and reshaped by a hat shop. As long as its actually in your size range the money you'll spend on getting it reworked will be pale in comparison to going full custom or paying for something off the shelf.
>>18684581watched this recently. good movie, but i think it's very overrated by the spaghetti western crowd. leone > corbuccithat being said, i love anything with klaus kinski
>>18684584Technically it's has many issues, but i like the winter, the chud antagonists and the ending. Also it has the best morricone soundtrack in my opinion.
>>18684168>>18684240I bought a pair of the blue bells and I really like them. Nice indigo shade, good hardware and decent construction. If you’re looking for a cowboy cut pair of jeans but with real indigo and no pre-fading then I’d say they are worth the $100>>18684581>>18684584>>18684588Refreshing in its uncompromising cynicism, but carried by its unique setting, music and performances. It’s a lot better on rewatches, especially if you watch a lot of spaghetti westerns. This one definitely falls in B tier when compared to some shit like Day of Anger
>>18682662I couldn't get into this one. I was probably 40 minutes in and absolutely nothing happened and his terrible Spanish accent (was it a dub or him actually talking like that?) just took me out of it Only Leone film I couldn't get into
It's too hot where I live. How can I westernmaxx in hot weather?
>>18685162Straw hats with lots of ventilation holes and 100% linen or lightweight cotton western snap button ups in light colors that will reflect sunlight not absorb it like black would. I would suggest linen pants as well but they don't really make those in a boot cut unless custom. So you're going to have to tough it out with light wash jeans. Your days of wearing shorts are over. Don't EVER wear shorts with boots unless you want to look like a retard. You're also going to have to bite the bullet about footwear because fucking sketchers doesn't make mesh cowboy boots. You're stuck with leather.
>>18685162where do you live, whats the address
>>18685162westernmaxxing is for hot climatesIf you’re getting linen clothing and real denim you should be good
Aritzia was full of cowboy hats (straw) when I was in today
>>18685640>AritziaMy wife like their stuff even though I told her it's all chinkmade junk
>>18685885I know, believe me I know. I always ask her to tell me what it is made of, and then I ask her why she wants to pay natural material prices for synthetic clothes, which definitely doesn't lead to fights. Just thought it was interesting how much western themed stuff was in the trendy store.
>>18685889I own an Aran sweater made of 100% wool made in Ireland Aritzia sells a wool blend "Aran inspired" sweater made in China or Vietnam or whatever, that costs MORE than my wool sweater made in Ireland Absolutely wild
>>18680801Red Sun, excellent
>>18685885It’s the cutest chinkjunk though
>>18686000
>>18679710I wish we could still wear hats like this.
>>18684564isn't there an entiry sub culture of black cowboys who live in the cities and turn small stores into barns for horses?
>>18686656lmao what the fuck are you talking about?
I bought my first gun and should be getting it soon. I can't wait to start shooting cans and shit on my property. An El Malo 2 by Cimmaron.
>>18686819Hell yeah brother. Based as fuck
>>18686819A SAA with an octogonal barrel?
>>18686984They have different kinds with the same name. The one I bought doesn't have the octagonal barrel. There are others with thunderer style grips too. I bought a 4.75 inch barrel.
>>18686819nice, how much did it cost?
>>18687105$660
How tough are cowboy boots? Obviously cowboys and ranchers wear them but they on horseback a lot. Motorcycle riders like to wear them How durable are they?
A bit anachronistic but cool nontheless.
>>18687736What's that jacket style called? Looks kinda like a proto-field jacket
>>18687609More than durable enough for what you're ever going to put em through (fa)gget and they're sure as shit more durable than whatever made in china slop every wannabe nigger in this board is wearing.
>>18687772AFAIK it was purposedly designed for the film. Maybe based on a field jacket (which were popular around the time the film was made) but giving it some details and stuff that resembled the coats people wore around the time period the film is set in.I've never seen a jacket like that in any pictures of the era.I guess you coukd always get a surpluss field jacket or a repro of a WWII type field jacket and modify it to look like Clint's.
>another day of waking up early to get in my car and commute 30 minutes to my cuckcube office job where I send emails all day and then drive home too mentally exhausted from doing anything, all because I listened to everyone's advice and went to college so I could get the "real" job so I could "live the dream" I am about to throw it all away and just apply as a ranch hand
Hello dear cowanons, I have this nice boots and I wanted to share a pic with you. Theu feel nice and I feel nice when I wear them.
>>18687998hell yeah brother they look great. tell us about them
>>18688001It's a noname company (I can't find the name) and I believe they are bull's hide. Not sure about it tho. Feels comfy.
>>18688003I like that grain on the leather. I think they are bull
>>18688008One problem with them is that the shafts are kinda square when I want to put them on and it shows sometimes and it feels strange. Is there a trick to make them round again?
>>18688014You can get these shaft shaper things online But honestly some paper or cardboard is all you need. Supposedly pool noodles work but I think they might not be big enough
>>18688015It will be okay by itself after time?
>>18688016Oh yeah, leather has "memory" and keeps its shape after a bit
>>18688018Oh that's good. Square shafts might be stylish to someone, but that ain't me.
wtf is going on? i visited cali recently and saw a few people wearing cowboy hats, they werent latin eather. i saw a black guy wearing a bicyle, a gent in a blazer/jean combo and with what it looked a stetson. fuck it im going to see if i can get my hands on a hat for summer
how do all these nigga got tan roughout boots i cant find that shit anywhere very frustrating>>18688140cowboy has been on the scene at least since 24 (Beyonce's cowboy album). The spring fashion shows all had western stuff in them. Cowboy is in for Spring and Summer 26 nigga
>>18687712"a hat aignt a hat less its tilted"
>>18688144>how do all these nigga got tan roughout boots i cant find that shit anywhere very frustratingRed Wing Pecos
>>18679717something so kino about those white pants. i really need a pair
Above is the denix replica pistol I use to practice spins and tricks with. Below is the real gun I just bought. Fucking thing has an octagonal barrel. Not what I ordered but whatever.
>>18688197I prefer those light blue jeans that have been washed so much they're almost white with a hint og blue shade. You can find wranglers like that.
Need these exact fit pants
This hat is really cool
>>18688716Those are probably Lee riders.
How can I make this more spaghetti? I feel like it’s missing a top layer
>>18690076Change the shoes. Get a vest.
>>18687906>>18687772>>18687736Probablyhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safari_jacketHistorically they would've worn chore coats, frock coats or perhaps morning coats.
>>18690076Those boots have got to go. Replace then worth cowboy boots or ropers
>>18690091>>18690107I’ve got a pair of harness boots and some snakeskin cowboy boots that I could maybe make work, the pants taper and may not fit over either pair. I’ll commit to the bit, but I don’t live in a southern state so tucking pants into boots will be a hard sell
>>18690321How I'm tryna be I'm committing to a more western style of dress but goddamn it's hot and wearing denim shirts in the winter is hard to commit to
>>18690099A southern rebel bushwhacker would have been dressed more or less like picrel. Mens fashion in the frontier was outlandishly cool.
>>18690345Bloody Bill's story is wild. Went down the rabbit hole reading about him
>>18690340meant summer obviously
>>18690348Aye, one of those people who sound more like a literary character than a real person. Wonder if the wild west forged psychopats or just attracted them. His story is like straight out of Blood Meridian.I'm kind of fascinated by bushwacker's fashion.
>>18690543To be fair it was war, and he was using guerilla tactics. People forget that fact. They focus on the acts and not the context of them
Just bought these Ariat bankrolls, hope they are ok. Was thinking about the heritage r toe in suede but they were not available in canada for a price i wanted to pay. I really want the ralph lauren suede cowboy boots but not for 2K. These have a tan (ish) roughout so i thought it was a good compromise for now. Will assume the position when they arrive.
>>18690741never buy designer footwear let alone fucking polo cowboy boots lol. i think you bought chink boots mate. all of these companies outsource them from leon mexican manufacturers. 2bh id just search them on youtube, legit ones show you their facilities and how they make them.
>>18690911>all of these companies outsource them from leon mexican manufacturersleon actually makes some of the best cowboots in the market today. chisos and unmarked are some of the only brands doing things in all leather with wooden begs and channel stitching
This is basically the aesthetic I'm going for.
>>18680991He was also in Zorro which technically is a spaghetti western. Zorro is an Italian/ French movie western while Red Sun is a Hollywood movie from his brief American phase in the early 70s before he returned to France.
