From my experience I see more zoomers in their 20s still looking like they could pose as high school sophomores unnoticed than any geriatric. Yet I see photos of millennials in the 2000s with receding hairlines or mature faces or whatnot. Is it all just millennial projection making the youth feel bad because they are the ones turning 40? Just because influences like Millie Bobby Brown exists doesn’t represent the entire zoomer population. Maybe it’s more of an older vs younger zoomer distinction, where younger zoomers are probably looking older. But why do we shame people for “aging badly” as if they will end up as failures in life? Some people just don’t have lucky genetics that is all. And it’s not like aging is always consistent; that guy who looked 30 at 16 will probably still look 30 well into his 50s, and that 30-year-old who still looks 18 will probably receive a massive twink death in a few years or so.

t. 24-year-old zoomer who subbed at high schools before and is often rudely mistaken by teachers as a student

its coming from people who don't interact with anyone outside of their age group and their worldview is distorted by social media

Millenials just age better is all.
Simple as.

From what I can see it's just something millennials started saying to feel better about themselves. Most of the discussion about the topic uses cherry picked examples and there's nothing even approaching rigor

>Where did the idea that Gen Z is “aging badly” came from?
From watching Tik Tok.
Guess what? You don't look very mature.
