does anyone know how to fix acne scars? ive been doing daily skincare for 5 years basically, and in the last 5-6 months ive been trying a "peeling solution"(from The Ordinary) to try fixing them but they didnt really seem to get better.is there anything else i could try? should i try taking collagen? picrel is a little worse than my condition but its still a decent example
>>18684710you can't if it looks like that. do chemical peels at an actual place and still it will only make them slightly less apparent. well it depends on how bnad it really is.
>>18684710look up microneedling and dermabrasion rollersthey help a lot but some of the deeper pits or marks won't ever completely go away
>>18684710The best-working active that exists is tretinoin or some other vitamin A derivative that's basically the same thing. It works by causing your skin cells to "turn over" (replace themselves) more. Look it up and give it a shot but remember to WEAR SUNSCREEN or you will do more harm than good to yourself.
>>18684710the only real results you can see for improving ice pick and rolling acne scars is with cosmetic laser procedures. My scars are probably similar to yours in severity but mostly on my right cheek. I did a lot of research and saved up money to do a CO2 Fraxel:Repair laser on my face and part of my neck (some lingering acne scars where bottom of jaw meets neck). When it was all said and done and fully healed I saw about a 45-50% improvement on the scars. The method for improving these types of scars is to literally burn the skin a specific depth that sheds the skin over 1-2 weeks. It is important to keep the treated areas as clean as possible while healing because it is in a sense an open wound. My doctors had me treat my face with gauze soaked in a water + vinegar mixture that I drapped over my face for 20-30 minutes every 2-3 hours. You then remoisturize with a shitload of aquaphor and repeat. This all works because the laser penetrates to a deep part of the skin that triggers collagen reproduction and new skin growth, but without damaging the skin reproduction cells. Ultimately though, to get the best results possible you have to do multiple treatments as each procedure progressively improves the appearance and overall smoothness of the skin. It's been 13 years since I had my procedure and I meant to do one after 5 but life gets in the way. I did some reading on the subject recently and there's been some new tech and improvements on these laser machines so chances are that it's an even simplier experience now. Good luck bro!
