This. There’s another poster here who has a gold Moser that’s pre-buyout (I’m not exactly sure what model) and the difference in movement and case finishing is absolutely night and day. The current models are 99% machine finished. Apparently the the company took a massive loss on all the older models because they put so much effort into them, but no one would buy them if they were twice the price.

Something that can be worn everyday casually but also dressed up (not talking a tux, but a suit or jacket / trousers)
I was interested in the Tissot Gentleman but after trying it on in person wasn't too impressed.
Could stretch to 3000 for the right watch

From the EU, you would have to do some serious cheating the system to do that. Like getting a job, then faking an injury or whatever. And you wouldn't get free housing and food, just whatever unemployment there is. Possibly if you've been in Germany for like 10 years already but I don't have the time for that, I'm way too old.

You only get the full package if you're some random illegal Arab or African. EU people can get fucked.

>>
>>18685884
You need to have an automatic watch serviced when it stops running correctly. If, for example, you notice that it’s now losing minutes per day where it used to gain a few seconds, if it cannot stay wound, or if the date function stops working. If something inside sounds like it’s making a grinding noise that it never used to.

If you plan on getting the watch wet, taking it swimming, then you should get it serviced every five years or so to make sure that the gaskets that ensure watertightness are in good condition.
>>
>>18685884
When it stops working, I have a Bulova automatic from 1970 that still runs perfectly. It’s never been serviced because it hasn’t needed to be.

>>
>>18685899
I've done teeth whitening a couple of three times, and my teeth are whiter than ever (not as ridiculous as him) but somehow i felt like i could go even whiter.

At one point you lose the value of what's your normal teeth color.
But when the white of your eyes is not as white as your teeth, usually you've already gone too far. At last, it's my own stop point.

>>
>>18685899
They do, you literally pick the color you want. He made the rookie mistake of saying he wanted stark white and, for some reason, his dentist didn't warn him that it would look really unnatural and weird. Maybe you could argue it's less important if you're only doing one implant, then it's really important to pick a shade that both matches the rest of your teeth and is reasonable to maintain for the rest of your real teeth long term because the implant won't stain, so maybe they figured that doing every tooth won't matter much since every tooth will always match. But, as you can see, it just looks really weird. They're almost grey white.

I have been thinking of getting one for a while.
>>

They’re not bad, but you might want to consider the SUB300 since Doxas wear very small.
One thing that’s a little disappointing is their shockingly poor lume for a supposed dive watch.
>>
>>18685931
As long as you're aware that you're buying a fully chinese made watch that masqurades as "swiss". If you like the design/want that watch enough, then OK, whatever. Get it. As long as you know that "doxa" isn't the same as the doxa of yesteryear popularized by oldschool divers and clive cussler shit etc; it's just a name being cynically capitalized on.
If you want the look just get a chinky seestern doxa lookalike and skip the middleman; apparently some of them put "doxa" equivalents to shame.

Hamilton Jazzmaster Performer Automatic 38mm

I would believe that the Hamilton has a better build, it's more traditional. So you'd have less maintenance with the Hamilton.

If you want something with the "oomph" factor, then it has to be at least an entry luxury brand:
>Longines
>Grand Seiko
>Tudor (but second hand at this price)
>Tag Heuer
>Cartier
>and brands on the decline: Bell and Ross, Bucherer, Bremont
Tissot is not luxury, so it won't carry the same weight, and Omega/Rolex/IWC are out of your price bracket.

Out of these brand, the SBGX261 for Grand Seiko has a luxury finish and feel (if you're ok with quartz).

Not even true.
The Monta has a reliable easily serviced movement that has been modified to be extremely accurate and only requires servicing every 5-7 years.
The fit and finishing are much better than anything in the price point and the bracelet is often regarded as one of the best in the entire industry.
For the price it’s very hard to beat and this is coming from someone who doesn’t even own one, just considered buying one as a beater.
CW and Formex are also highly regarded for similar reasons. What you get for the price.
CW is now a top 50 watch brand in the world and I wouldn’t be surprised if you see them similarly to how Oris is today in a decade.
Not a shill as I don’t own any of these “microbrands” but some like the ones mentioned are hard to beat if you’re talking value and quality for the dollar; they simply don’t have the luxury name tax.
Do I own one? No. Would I? Maybe
Downside? They hardly hold their value, don’t buy one thinking you’ll get 80% of your money back if you decide to sell it, that’s where the name comes in as a big loss.
But there are many other options I’ve listed earlier that are alternatives in the price point.
Can also look for a mint blackbay one or carerra if you want to stay around 2-3k
>>
>>18686177

>Downside? They hardly hold their value
Because they are shitters and are seen as such.
They don't have luxury brand cred. It's not a question of value or "bang for your buck", it's a question of standing. You don't find them in luxury dealers.
The original poster asked for alternatives to a Datejust, so a fucking Monta or a CW are nowhere near that.
GS, Longines, Tudor, Tag, Cartier (...) you do find those in luxury dealers.
>>
>>18686185
You keep responding, so I guess he did. Anyway, what’s on your wrist this morning, Bittercel? Still rocking a bare wrist?
>>
>>18686189
He also said he was looking at a tissot gentleman and would spend 2k maybe 3k so I assumed similar dimensions, style, function, etc.
Not everyone is buying watches to impress others with an “oomf” factor, he just may like the look of the datejust.
>>
>>18686193
A Tissot is not an alternative to a Datejust.
A Longines Master Collection kind of is, and it's around 2K/3K.

>>

He wanted an alternative to a datejust, 2-3k, something he can wear dressed up but also casual.
I listed multiple watches of different prices in his price range or close to it, some dressier some more casual, all with stainless steel case and bracelet.
That is all lmao and I don’t think any I mentioned is a bad buy depending on what he truly wants in the watch, except for maybe the traska I listed as a budget option

Read the whole thread. OP was trying to flex and with one pic, the guy with the Strom just castrated him. But you can go ahead believing what you need to believe. It won’t make anyone like you, Whoretadello.

I wasn’t trying to flex. I wanted to post something that maybe hadn’t been posted in the thread before. Be the change and all that.
>>
>>18686257
nobody thought about it like that except you. we saw an armin strom, and the Very very first thing you thought about was how that watch is more expensive than OPs moser. You're obsessed. Move on in life.
>>
>>18686259
exactly, thank you.

nobody cares. he's just too deep into his headcanon that he can't let go. Whatever, he's literally indian, he's suffering enough.
>>
>>18686260
Like I said, you believe what you need to believe. I’m not here to disrupt anyone’s peace. You should try the same. You’ll be happier in the long run. Being bitter all the time will stress you out.
>>
>>18686262
move on in life. It's no longer 2023.
>>
>>18686261
Ok, cool.
Yeah, I know that the thread has bad actors. I wish there was som kind of rule that everyone had to post a wrist shot and if your skin was too dark and/or arm hair wasn’t blond, you couldn’t post. I think it would improve the discourse.

Yes, it seems they discolor over time which would be awesome. I only have it for 8 months or something. I also have other watches (longines, omega, baume & mercier) but this one is my favorite, although the 1961 omega geneve is also awesome.

Jfc how are any of these parts supposed to form-fit back in? The more parts of the case I disassemble the less I can put anything back together.

might also get the plain one from the masters collection, but it feels obsolete to have one with and without monophase

>>18686259
And what value does this contribute to the thread? We can look up watches we'll never be able to afford anywhere on the internet moron. Send money or fuck off.

You don't need anything more expensive.

It's definitely not worth more than my collection but I respect it for being a good but rare and non-hype piece you don't see everyone having one online. Like you don't see these all over reddit collection photos and all over the used cases at Bucherer.

Kofe Time.

Didn't know seagull makes these type of dials. Very nice.

So Cartier santos or Chanel j12 and why?

One has heritage, has a beyond iconic and legendary, design “real watchmaking” credibility.

The other one is a very pretty minimalist fashion watch. But it's ceramic.

What's the casio to buy if you already have the f91w and a similar with a second timezone? Is there one with 3 timezones at once? That would be very helpful for me.

Casio world time models.
- ae3000w: has 3 time zones showing all at once
- ae1200, a500wa: only one time zone on the display but shows multiple time zones by pressing the pusher
