How are the soles on these? I don't know shit about shoes but these seem fine to me, albeit superficially dirty.

Completely fine, but someone has some serious shit walking form.

Lots of life left in them. You could just get a cobbler to paste a topy on them and you solve that problem entirely for a few years. How's the wear on the inside? That's the issue ime with used shoes; they're not for your feet, some other fuck has sweated their shape into them.

What's the state of the lining in the heel area? That area can show a lot of wear in a short period of time, especially if the previous wearer was an overpronator/supinator etc.
Also stick your hand into the shoe and check the state of the inner lining: I've seen ones where people's toenails have cut away at that lining.
The outsole can be replaced. New cork can be laid in the footbed during a resole. But the inner lining of the shoe is never replaced, it can only be patched.
If there's no holes or tears and shit then the shoe seems ok.
I only bring it up because the it's either the angle of the pic you took or something making it look like the right shoe is warped, and if it is actually warped it's possible the wearer wore away the heel lining somehow.

I don't have them in my possession. they are from this listing https://poshmark.com/listing/Allen-Edmonds-Mens-Woven-Leather-CapToe-Oxfords-in-Cognac-69d586ef4a072b802a29885f

Those look barely worn at all and that's definitely the factory soles. Just buy them if you like them and they are in your size.

Those have years of life in them before you take them to a cobbler to resole then and they inevitably fuck them up and ruin them and then you throw them out

those look like some fat fuck with cankles worn them. sure the soles are lightly worn, but you can see the waddle pattern, and the uppers are worn out of shape from fat feet and likely this person was wearing shoes too small fod yhrir actual foot size. leading to the exaggerated fat foot effect, as they likely proudly claimed how petite their feet were regardless of their cankles and body. Similar to the effects of foot binding in old chinese practice So unless you also have fat feet, your not going to have support in those uppers.

I can understand thrifting clothes since you can just wash them with detergent and water or even soak them in vinegar, and it practically becomes new.
But buying used shoes is disgusting, you're literally walking around in years of built of sweat from the fat slob that owned them before you. And there's no way to wash leather like that beyond the surface level.

>buying used shoes
I seriously hope you guys don't do this
