What wallets does /fa/ use?I'm considering getting a new one since the Montblanc wallet I got as a gift a decade ago looks like shit now but I'm not sure if I should go with black like I usually do for a lot of things or try something different like tan. Aside from being able to hide wear better, black is more classic, sleek, and versatile but I've seen that brown can age beautifully.

I own the Flat Head’s Cordovan bifold wallet. I used to own their wild child wallet in black before I gifted it to my brother. In my opinion, you’re not going to find anything nicer than these. Beautiful leather, really basic design that fits perfectly in the back pocket, and it has a ring if you want to rock a chain
>>18686796This was the last photo I took of the wild child wallet. This is about 3 years of daily use in my back pocket. The Flat Head’s stuff is very sturdy. I never got a single wripped thread on this thing.
>>18686796>>18686800Nice, I think I might end up just getting the Flat Head Wild Child wallet in tan since the full cordovan wallet costs $300 more and the black version is sold out on Rivet and Hide. It's still available from Self Edges but they don't cover all the import fees. How the hell is R&H affording to do that anyway? What are their margins like lol
>>18686818Are you based in Europe? If so it would just make sense to go with R&H. If you’re US based, it wont make a difference going with self edge. I will say though, the oxblood cordovan ages much more beautifully imo. The way I thought about it is that I’m probably going to have this wallet for life, so $800 is not really that big of a deal
Better lighting of the oxblood cordovan. Keep in mind that the natural undyed leather will get very patina’d, whereas something dyed darker will get more of a subtle color change. It’s all just up to your personal preferences
>>18686850>>18686864>Starting 29th August 2025, the removal of the de minimis threshold means that all online purchases will be subject to tariffs, with rates depending on the country of origin.>To keep things simple and stress-free, Rivet & Hide will cover these charges for all orders shipped to the USA and Canada.>So what you pay at checkout is final - no unexpected taxes or fees at the border.>This means you can continue to shop with complete confidence with the same seamless service you’ve trusted for 13 years.I'm in Canada, so it would cost over 200 leafbucks more to order from Self Edge. ~450 + 350 leafbucks more for the oxblood cordovan. Normally I'd like to spend more in this situation but I have to continue fixing my barren wardrobe as well, most of my budget is going towards stuff from RMC/Flat Head/etc after getting the basics from Uniqlo. Also I just noticed the Good Art wallet chain, neat. Personally I'd like to get one like in pic related which I found from a 9 year old reddit post but it doesn't seem like Flat Head is making them anymore and these stores aren't selling many wallet chains either.
>>18686881Thanks man, theyre the best chains in the world. If you haven’t check out Lynch Silversmith they got some cool designs too. Fuck all these tariffs man. I miss the days when I could save literally $150-200 on a pair of jeans ordering off Rakuten. Speaking of, if you really want that specific wallet you might be able to find it from some obscure Japanese retailer on rakuten. Sometimes these bigger Japanese denim brands will have slightly different stock lists for their western retailers compared to what is actually sold in Japan.
>>18686731A rubber band. Come to think of it, that rubber band has held up amazingly well. I haven't replaced it in at least 5 years.
>>18686731I've had this wallet for probably 8 years or something. It was completely natural with no finish or dye so this is basically 8 years of patina Seeing how it's aged I really want a leather jacket in natural leather or some engineer boots
Used a random APC one before this from the wife. Money clip for cash. Do people really still carry full sized wallets?
>>18687069>Do people really still carry full sized wallets?Yes because they're fucking sick, they carry everything in one bundle, they age nicely assuming you get some decent leather, and you can attach a chain to it for an extra accessory and means of literally never losing it.
I want to get one of these medium trucker wallets but it’s hard to justify desu
I bought this 1960s wallet
What type of wallet do you prefer? Bi-fold or tri-fold and why?Any wallet suggestions? I'm looking for a new wallet.
>>18686731get whatever is going to give you that tinge of joy everytime you have to reach in your pocket and pull it out. also, fuck it, enjoy a bit of flex if you can afford it. people notice.be good to yourself
>>18687379Check out Ship John's Wallets. It's not insane expensive, but it matches the geometry of what you're looking for with some decent veg tan leather that will patina nicely. One of my buddies has had one for about 3 years and it's looking pretty good. https://shipjohn.us/collections/leather-goods/products/gibson-chain-wallet
