i've been on 60mg isotretinoin daily for 2 months. extreme dryness is wrecking me. flaky skin, crusty scalp, chapped lips, sharp musculoskeletal soreness. skin is already nearly clear, just super dry and irritated bc i'm blasting my sebaceous glands daily.

should i just lie to the derm that i'm continuing on high-dose, meanwhile stockpile the pills and microdose them over a longer period? i still want to reach (cumulative dose)/(bodyweight) target but don't want to pay the derm for years of microdosing... has anyone tried this?

mention the severe discomfort to them and ask what your options are? If they insist on continuing without any reasonable assurances/adjustments then you're dealing with a psychopath who just wants to torture you.

i got the prescription through one of those web services where you chat with a dermatologist and they have you do blood work at a local lab. it's been fine so far. if i am honest with the derm the options are all going to be bad:
>knock the dose down which extends the treatment period = programme length = cost by 2x, 4x, 8x
>switch to a topical like tretinoin or tazarotene. not great for me since my problem area is chest/arms/back, making it an absurd amount of prescription topicals. I tried those before and they weren't really working
>quit early + likely revert to being gross looking
...hence the OP strat. if i start whining to them about symptoms that's a bell i can't unring

>60mg daily
Are you crazy?
Change your diet and gradually go down to 20 or 30.
Did your blood samples come back without any issues?
Do you use moisturizer and sunscreen?
