I don't buy 2nd hand because you can't wash away the feelings, memories, emotions that the previous owner imprinted into the garment even with the strongest industrial-grade detergents.

Finally someone who gets it. This is why I don't buy anything second hand, whether it's clothes, books or anything else. It's spiritually corrupting because you're partaking in and continuing someone else's legacy. I don't want any part of that.

Older clothes with better materials and labor have a way lower karmic burden than new clothes with cheap materials and cheap labor, regardless of anything they went through with the previous owner. Sucks that your spirit is so weak that it can't immediately cleanse what you wear. Maybe work on purifying yourself first.

I take both pills at the same time.

I shop second hand online for items that I've tried in shops, or for items with very consistent sizing. I look for new with tag, new without tag, or barely worn because if not I find it disgusting. Particularly for shoes where I want new and will tolerate up to 3 wears or so.
Anything else can be accessories or whatever. I clean with some disinfectant, the same I use for my exercise clothes.

The downside being that I barely shop this way. Probably once per year.

Love it, but it can be disgusting. I buy cheap second hand items from time to time from vinted and a pair of windbreaker pants literally had the worst stains imaginable inside. People sell 2000s items that seem like they stored underneath a dog bed.

Apart from the disgusting shit its actually great though ive gotten new without tags or damaged boxes air maxes and theyre nice and clean, hoodies new without tags that are comfy. Vintage docs and leather items that just need a week or two of hydrating. Being a fat nigga like myself it can be a good way you score big items at a massive discount.

i buy everything secondhand online. that being said, vintage/thrifting is a shit time since reselling became so popular. I used to get cool sweaters from thrifts all the time, never sold any of them & donated them back when I was done with them. Now it's just garbage from free t shirt sports games and walks for aids or whatever. women ruin everything speedrun.

I only buy used now.

People by me dress like schlubs, it's only cheap junk most of the time. I've only ever left a secondhand store with some good stuff once, though I was quite satisfied. Online has been hit or miss too. Doesn't even seem all that much cheaper, my tastes kind of hold their value unfortunately.
Only talking clothes here, I wouldn't buy shoes/boots secondhand unless they were supposed to be disposable.
