i've never had a good hair cut. WTF do i have to do to get this hairstyle? I have the requisite hair type and length. questions:
1. where should i get it? barbershop or salon.
2. what should i ask for? I've tried showing the exact picture but they mess it up somehow.
3. How do i style it?
pls i just want to be pretty for once.

How do they mess it up?

im not joking once they completely faded the sides. the other time it just came out like the mushroom / broccoli hair

thanks dude

Yeah if you're showing them this picture and that's what they give you then they're clearly fucking up. On the other hand, you should be able to see what they're doing as they're doing it and tell them to stop if they're fucking up that badly. You have to keep looking for new barbers, and make sure you're paying attention when they're cutting so you don't leave looking worse than necessary.

I never had one either, that's why I just buzz cut it, besides I'm turning bald
>>
>>18690482
I'll be honest this is the hairstyle you get when you just grow it out from short and don't cut it at all
>>
low finger length taper on the sides with long fringe. and show them the photo

im not going bald and a buzz wouldn't suit me

>>18692049
thanks for ur help but i have some more questions:

is a bad hairline really so grim that trying to hide it is needed

>my image thing isnt going I just really like the cope
if you cant be honest here how are you ever going to be honest with yourself
>>

it's not your hair, it's your face/skull.

Do you have natural waves/curls, and do you oil them? You're not achieving this hairstyle without. I've been given this cut by three different shops and none of them have fucked it up. It's one of the easier haircuts, barber's words.
>>
>>18693585
yes natural waves/curls, no to oiling them. ive never put oil in my hair what should i use?

>i've never had a good hair cut.

You're either very atypical, enough to require something special to make hair work on you.

Or you're just ugly.

I go to the cheapest random barber I can find and always look amazing after a haircut.

congrats

Do not get your haircut at any place that is just called a barber. That's for guys that just want a trim once in a while. Look for a place that calls them stylists.

Everyone's hair is different, texture, porosity, and width. It's not one-size fits all. I recommend watching some curly hair styling tutorials on YouTube who will show you their products and routines. You can find someone whose untreated hair resembles yours. Go without any product in your hair other than shampoo when you wash (avoid conditioner if you can) and towel pat your hair. Depending on if it's dry, frizzy, wavy, still naturally curly, etc, is a tell to what products you're going to need. Think back to what your unbrushed hair looked like as a child if it didn't dramatically change after puberty. I will say the most common thing to use is Moroccan/Aragon oil as a starting place.
