i've never had a good hair cut. WTF do i have to do to get this hairstyle? I have the requisite hair type and length. questions: 1. where should i get it? barbershop or salon. 2. what should i ask for? I've tried showing the exact picture but they mess it up somehow. 3. How do i style it? pls i just want to be pretty for once.

On the other hand, you should be able to see what they're doing as they're doing it and tell them to stop if they're fucking up that badly. You have to keep looking for new barbers, and make sure you're paying attention when they're cutting so you don't leave looking worse than necessary.

I recommend watching some curly hair styling tutorials on YouTube who will show you their products and routines. You can find someone whose untreated hair resembles yours. Go without any product in your hair other than shampoo when you wash (avoid conditioner if you can) and towel pat your hair. Depending on if it's dry, frizzy, wavy, still naturally curly, etc, is a tell to what products you're going to need. Think back to what your unbrushed hair looked like as a child if it didn't dramatically change after puberty. I will say the most common thing to use is Moroccan/Aragon oil as a starting place.
