Growing up in the 2000s there were a lot of "high end" brands for casual wear:Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Armani, Burberry, Brooks Brothers, Supreme, Gucci, Polo by Ralph LaurenThe only brand that is still cool is Polo. Everyone wants the tweed sports coatEveryone wants the american flag sweater with RL onitEveryone wants the polo shirts, the dress shirts with the horse on themEveryone wants the bear sweatersRalph Lauren was prob the ugliest and least fit of all these fashion designers but still is mogging. how does he do it?
Nothing that this brand does is inherently desirable. Everything they sell is literally just mall tier americana but with cringe logos for 10 times the price, or mall tier prep but with cringe logos for 5 times the price.Would I wear this shit for the same price as Levi's? Yes. Would I pay the price they ask, fuck no.>Ralph Lauren was prob the ugliest and least fit of all these fashion designers but still is mogging. how does he do it?Don't check his heritage...
>>18691709It's just an old guy in a suit.
>>18691709You'd be mistaken if you thought RL is relevant outside of the USofA.Pic source is the Tom Ford exit interview on GQ.

Ralph Lauren is funny because while I won’t even deny that it often looks good it is also most definitely a brand made by a Jew LARPing as a WASP for other non-WASPs to LARP as WASPs. There are so many tells: the gaudy logos, the lines for sale in Macy’s and TJ Maxx, the incorporation of Africa-core colors and patterns, etc. I mean, they literally make shirts covertly in the colors of Indian flags and other third world flags. Ralph is not bad looking per se but it’s objectively a poser brand.
>>18691709>I have never heard of fashion cycles
>>18691709nigga Gucci is always cool. There are three cool brands. Gucci (vintage) Armani (vintage) and anything RL puts out, every (nigga)
>>18691752He's jewish. That's based and cool.Polo isn't pricey. Some stuff are and some aren't. I think it's fairly priced for the quality. Maybe not if you're broke. You buy the wool tweed sport coat for $1000 and it lasts you a life time. You buy some coat from Levis for $120, you will prob buy 10+ throughout your life and it looks less cool.I personally don't even like levis. just get wranglers at that point
>>18691808>no mention of RLRalph Lauren is global.Kanye West is global. Also America > Global on casual fashion. It's not even close. If you want to talk high end shoes, england is good comparison. The Anglosphere dominates the eurosphere.
>>18692016There are many subbrands.Polo and Purple label are the only ones you should be considering RL desu. You might also be mixing it with US POLO ASSN. I don't think RL does the big gaudy logos. It's usually the size of the moose on abecombre polos or the alligator on lacoste. the stuff i get from them, don't even have logos?>>18692065decades and still on top.
>>18692283>decades and still on topYou know nothing, retarded kid. In the 80s and 90s PRL was nothing (only appreciated by a small niche) and Tommy Hilfiger was the best. From young people to 50 yo men, everyone used to reach out for Hilfiger. Stop talking out of your ass you fucking clown. You and your shit-thread.
>>18692280>RL is globalRL is an american designer who's mainly relevant in the US for his own brand and nothing else.Of course, the RL brand is not unknown in Europe, but it's not nearly as relevant, sought after or respected as the overwhelming majority of European brands such as Armani, Gucci, Dior, Hermes, YSL, D&G, LV, Balenciaga and so on and so forth. In much the same way he's not nearly as relevant as designers who have become famous working for European brands, such as Alessandro Michele, Hedi Slimane, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs and so on and so forth.>Kanye West>high end shoesWeren't we talking about casual fashion from designer brands?
>>18691709Ahahahaha holy fuck he looks like shit
>>18692354>Armani, Gucci, Dior, Hermes, YSL, D&G, LV, BalenciagaAll those brands are luxury (even tho Armani has the Emporio line).Ralph Lauren is mall wear, except maybe the purple label. So more people in Europe will wear Ralph Lauren over those luxury brands. The main competitor to RL are more Lacoste and Hugo Boss, or even Nike, Patagonia...
>>18692283>You might also be mixing it with US POLO ASSN. I don't think RL does the big gaudy logos. It's usually the size of the moose on abecombre polos or the alligator on lacoste.
>>18691752>Don't check his heritage...Lil bro over here acting like no one had any idea Ralph Lifshitz was Jewish. Bro, he's probably one of the most well known Jews of all time
