I want a pair of the Brakehouse 3450 engineers T_T
>>18694490they're not that expensive. go for it
>>18694490>>18694491Are those any good? They're too cheap.
post boots NOW
My buddy has a birthday coming up, he's a carpenter who wears shit-tier boots into the ground; His boots get dirty from drywall and other workplace shit so he doesn't want to spend a lot on boots which I totally get but I think he'd see the benefits if he got some quality ones. Any reccomendations for affordable, quality work boots for me to subsidize? I was looking at the Frank's Patriot or something like the Nicks BuilderPro. The Patriot looks really good aside from the roughout lower, I know it's common on workboots but I think it would be harder to keep it clean than smooth leather. I think he prefers the look of classic heeled boots but the Red Wings Moc wedge sole might be an option too, he'd be able to try them on in since we have a Red Wings store close by. Any advice would be appreciated anons.

May I interest you with some high quality, handmade and hand-welted boots?
>>18694552
Why do people still wear PNW clunkers? I've owned some Wesco engineers, Whites 350 cutters, and Viberg 310s, and they all kind of suck compared to jap stuff. All of the soles are fucking massive, they're absurdly heavy, and generally the finishing and clicking is mediocre. I would understand if you are actually riding motorcycles or hiking through the woods regularly, but if you are wearing PNW boots for fashion without actually putting them through at least some moderate activity, you are probably retarded. This shit is not fashionable at all. If you are not an active person, you need to sell your PNW boots and buy something dressier to match your actual lifestyle
>>18694536>that will be $1,080 plus tax
>>18694563
>>18694571
>someone demands boot photos>90% of the posts are PNW
>>18694564This you?
>>18694560You hate them because you hate Indians. We get it anon, it's okay to admit it
>>18694564No one cares, retard. Shut the fuck up
>>18694586I’ve owned 3 pairs of PNW as described. You’re angry because you know I’m actually right
>>18694564>I would understand if you are actually riding motorcycles or hiking through the woods regularlyHow do you know we're not? Who the fuck are you? Anyway, I love my MPs, they're the perfect boot to me. Rugged and tough, but still sleek enough that I don't feel like I'm wearing big tanks on my feet
>>18694585because nobody else is posting boots retard, including you
>>18694590>saar
>>18694598Those loafers are a crime against humanity
>>18694549Honestly just get him Red Wing Moc toes, I love Frank's Patriot, but it's likely too much boot for him. Make sure to take him to the store to try them on first so he gets the right size.
>>18694621>>18694549Was also thinking the RW Moc would be good. Comfy sole, durable and hard wearing enough for carpentry work that doesn't require a steel toe
>>18694549My advice is to not buy shoes as a present
>>18694621>>18694632That's what I was thinking, thanks bros.>>18694647I know that much. I wasn't going to buy him boots outright, I was planning on giving him cash enough to cover the purchase and strongly encouraging him to get proper boots.
>but but but truman boots are ugly...
>>18694598>romaleos 2I got those in that color. God-tier lifting shoes.
I don't feel like I need any more boots. I should probably get real loafers, any reccs for low instep ones under 300€?
>>18694564Screencap’d because trvthnvke>>18694586>>18694597>>18694593lmaoing hard at these butthurt amerimutts
This type of crease is so fucking hideous and it seems there’s no way to avoid it. Grim.
>>18694718Got them 15 years back and they are a size too big, so I added some big memory foam inserts. Resoled them once already. Crease is just due to my gait I guess.
>>18694722No I have a pair just like that, same color but roughout. They got the same obnoxious crease. Problem is that there’s no way to fix it, I think. My loafers also have creases but – quite the contrary – they look good. They’re light and evenly spread and do not resemble a huge eye-shaped groove.
>>18694718>>18694722>>18694745Shoe trees help minimize that type of crease. BTW, Iron Rangers creasing like that is almost inevitable. Think of it as a feature, not a bug.
Thinking of retiring the iron rangers. They were my first pair of quality shoes and I've walked hundreds of miles on them but they're too bulky for my taste nowadays and they fit in that weird spot between shoe and actually tall boot.
>>18694749Shoe trees do absolutely nothing for that. The crease is formed as you walk and drive. Shoe trees do not revert the process of creasing. Furthermore, if they’re so big that they actually puff out the leather of your shoes they’re going to ruin those shoes forever. Shoe trees make sense only as moisture absorbers.
>>18694750It’s basically the only good-looking pair in your collection.
Why didn't you fags tell me about these things sooner?
>>18694717>i-i'm not mad, you are! classic
>>18694750What are those black boots top right corner?
>>18694779>anon posts trvthnvke>fat redditors seethe uncontrollably>anon n.2 agrees with anon n.1Why would I be mad, lil bro?
>>18694564retard
>>18694749When are we going to stop parroting this nonsense that shoe trees do anything to prevent creasing? The ONLY time they do anything for creases is when they're physically in the shoe and that's because they're filling the volume of the shoe. The second you take the tree out the creases are back Your foot flexes as you walk. Leather creases and moves with it. If you don't like creases don't wear leather.
>>18694782>anon is a retard>doubles down on being a retard so he "wins" good for you anon, your parents may actually be proud of you for once
>>18694778I literally cannot get my cowboy boots off without it. Still remember when I was in the store trying them on and my wife had to help pull them off and I nearly threw out my back just trying to get the damn things off because I had no idea what a boot jack was or how they worked
>>18694790how? even the pair that were slightly too small weren’t that hard to get off
>>18694795I have extremely high insteps and arches. Dude scanning my feet at Red Wing said I had the highest he'd ever seen Probably has a lot to do with it
>>18694760Everyone's entitled to their opinion >>18694780I'm afraid you're kinda shit out of luck anon, they're my father's cowboy boots from the 80s/90s that I had painted black and resoled. They were originally a very faded brown that had almost patina'd to a faint olive color. They were made by a brand called "the Wehrmacht group" or "Wehrmacht original boots" but I can't find much info on them, probably defunct.
>>18694789NTA but PNW boots are kind of ridiculous and the original point made by >>18694564 actually has some truth to it. They’re not awful boots or anything and are obviously super durable and robust, but in a fashion sense they are just too big from their massive soles, and if you aren’t someone with an active lifestyle and you’re just wearing a pair of Whites in a city you just look retarded. People who aren’t really outdoorsy should be wearing something more refined. You don’t necessarily have to get a pair of $1500 Japanese boots, but even a pair of Trumans or Grant Stone would be more appropriate for such a person.
PNW boots are literally for people with closeted weird foot fetishesand I mean really weird fetish shit, not just the regular foot fetish which is obviously fine
>>18694829we get it bro, shut the fuck up already. move on
>>18694564People just want stuff that feels high quality, durable and repairable. They could buy Goral sneakers but instead they go to the most extreme boot.
>>18694750What brand on the penny loafers?
>>18694750>Thinking of retiring the iron rangersi retired mine couple of years ago now the underfoot feel is literally nothing compared to the whites/wescos
>>18694807>but in a fashion sense they are just too big from their massive solesbecause you're wearing skin tight latex pants you prancing la la homoman. normal men wear straight cut and they look fine
>>18694917Bro even if you are wearing wide cuts, a PNW boot is so blatantly huge and dense. It looks proportionally more natural to wear straight/wide cuts with a normal sized or even narrow-toed pair of leather footwear.
>>18694486What brands make good boots in EU38/US5 in Europe? Doc Martens and the likes aside, I'm struggling to find anything worthwhile.
>>18694945Here bruvhttps://shoegazing.com/2024/12/22/buyers-guide-european-workwear-boot-brands/
>>18694920not true at all
>>18694971Which ones are these?
>>18694974wesco boss 7500
>>18694976Nice. Are they only differences between the Boss and Mr Lou the slimmer shaft? Is the last still the same?
>>18694978with the boss its a full length vibram outsole versus the dr sole half soleboth should be that MP last with the slightly squared off round toe
>>18694986I'm genuinely torn over what engineers to get for my first pair. The Mr Lou checks all my boxes, but I don't know if it's worth it to shell out more for the Japanese brands I wish Almost Vintage Style still had his channel. The dude was insufferable but when it came to reviews he was really good
>>18694988i personally definitely prefer my bosses over my lofgrens, the stiffners in the toe and the heel pocket is a lot more noticeable in the lofgrens and they're just way less comfortable because of that. i'm personally not one to go over boots with a microscope and nitpick shit but i don't think the lofgrens were worth the extra ~300 over the bosses for me for the >boots :|>boots j a p a n :)
>>18694947weeping for the prices we've lost. i have always wanted some urban shepherds but i have ogre feet. i would replace my 3 casual pairs with just them.
>>18694988It depends on how autistic you are. Personally I am hyper autistic about whether the boots have very nice horsehide clicking, handwelting, a perfectly carved woodsman heel, etc.. I sold my Wescos and John Lofgrens and splurged on some Role Clubs which have always been a grail piece of mine and they are without a doubt the best boots I’ve ever worn. A lot of people will tell you it’s not worth it, but in my experience it was 1000% worth it since I got a pair that in my opinion has a better looking design but is also a perfect fit. I’m not telling you that you need to spend as much money as I did on boots, but i do think that the overall level of quality and experience you get from spending more on engineer boots does actually scale with the price. It is objectively better if you can get a pair made to measure since it’s kind of difficult finding a ready to wear pair that fits your feet well enough. If I was willing to spend $800-2000 on another pair of engineers, my preferences in order from most to preferred to least preferred would be:>Unsung House (arguably the best pair of engineers on the market. M2M, perfectly designed, top tier leathers, handwelted, etc)>Clinch>Briselblack (heavily underrated)>Zerrows>AttractionsEveryone has different opinions about the Wescos. They’re good boots, but they weren’t something I was really into. If you care about having top tier finishing, clean stitching, beautiful clicking, close to a perfect fit, or perfectly carved heels, then you might want to look elsewhere. If you plan on exposing your boots to regular physical activity then a pair of Wescos is a great option
>>18694947this is what 750 eurodollars gets you>immaculate clicking>precise stitch work>awsomely thin heel caps and soles- light and dressy, going outside is cringe larping anyway, you don't need more rubber than this, stop pretending>puckering of the uppers at the toes- testament to the hand lasted craft and an element of tasteful ruggedness>heels trimmed to the stitches- tight as fuck, also practical weight reduction>the design of the quaters combines angles AND curved lines- refined and visually unique>unbevelled sole edges- beutifully geometric boxy shapeliterally who even does a hand lasted, handstitched boot in america for ~$750 that would be better than this? nothing comes to mind honestly
