After a certain point you are paying for a brand name.

For example, my Spier and Mackay dress shirts are a lot better quality than a Michael Kors dress shirt while also being cheaper in price. I also have much more expensive (eg Thomas Mason) and the quality is comparable to the Spier and Mackay except the TM ones are more than 3x the price.

If you’re buying expensive designer pieces you probably are taking a lot of time considering the purchase when on the other hand going to a Zara or whatever you might just pick something up sporadically, now it probably isn’t as expensive as that designer piece but is the money as well spent or not.
