>>18699724sorry lil bro but you're about 10 years too late to do this. yahoo auctions a bit less so, but mercari especially is absolutely flooded with fakes these days. take wacko maria aloha's as a basic example. if you look at the bottom priced listings those are all fake. no one is selling deadstock aloha's that came out last season and retail for $300 for $50. most of them will just use stock product photos but fake sellers have gotten discerning enough these days that they steal photos of genuine product from old listings of real people and re-use those for their fake listings. but regardless of the photo; you buy one of those $50 wacko maria aloha's you will be sent a made in china fake. except it gets so much worse. all of the top priced listings are fake as well. again, these shirts retail for around $300, even the super sought after ones from earlier seasons only really go for like $600 at the absolute most. but fake sellers put fake listings up at retarded prices like $2,000 in the hope that someone will bite. again i guarantee you if you buy a wacko maria aloha shirt for over $1,000 you will be sent a fake. so at this point you may think, "okay fake sellers are listing at absurdly low prices for the broke boys who know they're buying a fake and don't care", "and at the highest prices way above normal to try and scam rich retards". "i'm sure if i just stick to slightly above or below retail i'll probably be buying from actual real people". nope. sorry. wrong. the middle is completely filled with fakes as well. fake sellers have cornered the market they are scamming at every single price point. mercari is doing nothing and actual japanese people are furious. they barely even use mercari anymore and have gone back to just buying shit inrl because the site is so flooded with chinese fakes.
>>18699765they used to be limited to only the lowest prices and it was easy to ignore them. they used to use dog shit photos of the actual fake product where you could clearly tell it wasn't genuine. they used to have whack ass accounts with thousands of listings where it was obvious it wasn't a real person. but since covid they've gone into overdrive. they use hacked old accounts with actual feedback that look like real legit people. they use genuine old photos from previous listings. they price way too low, they price way too high, they price perfectly on the dot. you think you're dodging a fake with an alternative listing that seems more legit but you're just running into another of their fake listings where they've tweaked the prices and photos. you cannot identify them anymore, you cannot avoid them, the only winning move is not to play. i fell victim to this, bought from an old account with legit feedback and almost no other listings, photos were genuine, price was accurate - a bit above retail but it was an older sought after design in excellent condition. none of it mattered, got sent a fake in the wrong colour anyway. buyee wont do anything about it. they literally say right in their terms if you buy a fake they will not refund you and that's on you. if you do a paypal chargeback they ban you for life. the only way i got my money back is i didnt mention the shirt was fake at all, i said it was the wrong colour and i paid for them to double check the item before they packed it. they agreed that was their bad and refunded me. if i had said the product was fake they would have told me to kick rocks. if the fake was the right colour i would have been screwed.
>>18699766the fake sellers know this. they're preying on people using proxy services who have no recourse if they get sent a fake. it's not just buyee, basically no proxy service will open a dispute if you get sent a fake. it's the ultimate scam for these subhuman chinese bug people and it's gotten so bad actual nihonians don't even use mercari anymore. threy don't want to bother with having to file a dispute either.anyway, your price index is screwed. the wells been poisoned. the average price of any of this stuff online these days is totally fake and bullshit because scammers list items for way underneath and way above what's actually accurate. and they massively boost the perceived amount of product that exists because they have tons of fake listings in the middle as well. this price index can only work for stuff that doesn't get massively faked which is now almost nothing. out of the stuff you listed visvim, kapital, wacko maria, undercover, needles, and human made all have tons and tons and tons of fake listings. cdg homme plus is the only thing you mentioned i dont think the chinese bother faking. you can maybe make an accurate price index for that. im sure most of the people buying and selling it are actually real and the listings are genuine. but everything im into is faked to hell and back. i only buy retail now or second hand inrl if I can handle the product in person. internet is absolutely cooked for this shit unfortunately but especially mercari more than any other platform (because of the thing with proxy buyers being unable to dispute fake sellers).
