What do we think of cargo pants?
>>
>>18703523
Depends on the pants. They can be
>cheap tacticool shit that is essentialy just a straight piece of fabric
avoid, obviously
>well made cargo pants meant to be functional and surplus
millege may vary, context and body dependent
>fashion oriented cargo pants that are made with fit and cut in mind first, functionality second
Obviously the most likely to be fashionable, but the pockets can leave much to be desired function wise.

Even dedicated cargo pant brands like 5.11 have product lines that are clearly meant to hold shit and not fall apart first, and lines meant to look good first. I will say though that ripstop square pattern isn't generally very /fa/ if you ask me.

Worse fatigues. You don't actually use the cargo pockets.
>>
>>18703533
If I wanted practicality, I would have just bought them. I need to know if people think they're cringe.
>>
>>18703534
Then just get fatigues
>>

No
>>
>>18703546
Why?
>>
>>18703523
Nobody buys cargo pants as a fashion item.
They exist entirely as a bargain bin clothing choice
They're frequently on sale, and even when they're not, they're often cheaper than more fashionable garments like jeans.
So the only people who buy cargo pants are people with no shame or taste, just looking for the most cost effective pants they can afford.
>>
>>18703533
Yes I do. I put all my trinkets and knickknacks in them, especially while vacationing and tourist fagging.
>>
>>18703567
That may be true if you exclusively shop at walmart or some mall. Cargo pants are just another staple in heritage military wear that's very popular as street wear.
>>
>>18703523
For sporting activities like hiking, hunting, fishing camping, quadding etc. Not for regular wear.

you guys sound like euros. which is fine. but cargo pants aren't that standard in America. the way blue jeans is standard in america is the way cargo pants are standard in europe/eastern europe/mediterranean.

When we see cargo pants in America they could be high fashion gay man's trendy cargo pants or fairly costly tactical/outdoorsy cargo pants.

There was a time in the 2000s when cargo pants were far more common. They experimented for a while making the cargo pocket smaller, moving it around, etc, before it got generally phased out

You have to look really athletic and confident to pull off cargo pants, otherwise you either look like a redneck in operator larp or a nerd who never grew out of his cargo pants phase during high school.

They're useful for storing cool rocks you find on the beach, and also storing nuts and berries and other snacks.

They look like ass though

and yet everybody was losing their cocks over DNC a few years ago

>t. suburbanite fag
If you were cool you'd see a lot more people wearing camo pants and cargo pants/shorts
>>
>>18703871
They look like ass only if you wear skinny cargo pants like a faggot. Cargo pants should always be relaxed or loose fit.

Nigger, cargo pants were always fashionable, especially in the 2000s. They fell out of style briefly during the gay skinny jeans apocalypse during the early 2010s, but the came back in the late 2010s when zoomers grew up and started distancing themselves from millennial cringe.
>>

The thing about cargo pants in the 2000s is that people distanced from them because they were associated with fat people. Rarely did people know how to style them as well, mostly looking like neckbeards or kids.

I will say that today’s version of cargo pants are improved with the A-shape like bell bottoms. Sadly, the material is shit.

>associated with fat people
By whom? Did you just hang out around people who hated fat people in the '00s?
>>
>>18704032
Everyone. The very early 2000s pre emo is when obesity rates skyrocketed. People did their best to not come off as the “fat American” and ditched cargo pants to not be associated with that.

All laggards who still wore cargo pants were:

>Fatties
>Geeks/nerds who didn’t care about fashion
>Metalheads who hated emo kids
>People who lived in rural towns where utility was more important than style
>Mall goths during their brief lifespan before adopting emo

Mostly fatties.
>>
>>18704033
I think you're just being judgemental
>>
>cargo pants
Love 'em.
Always have.
I'm 38.
>>
>>18704033
Dude. I lived in Munich during Y2K.
"Cargo" and streetwear was for clubbing. People who that were tweaking teens who went to dance clubs to listen to trance music and get high. Or middle schoolers.
>>
>>18704022
Fat people wore cargo shorts back then, not cargo pants. And in the 2000s it was all about being thin and fit. There were a hell of a lot less fatties back then. Cargo pants fell out of fashion because slim and skinny jeans took over starting from the mid 2000s, not because people thought cargo pants were lame or something. Cargoes were always associated with skaters, streetwear and outdoor activity.
