Anyone else own some Orto Parisis and manage to accidentally rub off the batch number printed on the bottom of the bottle? Frag is 100% legit and bought from an official stockist, so no concerns regarding that. But, it's surprising those italo mfs didnt laser etch the batch no. on the glass.
>>18708814no full orto parisi bottles here, sorrybtw post collection, it looks nice
sotd serge lutens fleur d'oranger, always forget how strong this mfer is because I associate orange blossom with edcs
Anybody have experience with Ebay sellers? The prices for this hugo boss I'm looking at are so low, makes me nervous.
>>18708820no need to complicate thingsif it looks too good to be true then it probably is
>>18708820you can get most designers pretty cheap grey market but ebay can be dangerous. Boss stuff is pretty cheap anyway
>>18708802I kek’d
>>18708816Thanks bro, and sure, here's a portion of it. All my privees are from before 2024 or so, still 40mls. Majority of my fresher frags not pictured are in another cabinet waiting for warmer months. Things like Versace Eau Fraiche, Rogue Bon Monsieur, Acqua di Scandola/Mal-Aime, Chanel Pour Monsieur, Dior HS/HC & Higher + Higher Energy, Ormonde Jayne Evernia & Man, Goldfield & Banks Bohemian Lime and PRM.Allure Homme Edition Blanche is still excellent even in Autumn imo. That creamy dry down is 10/10. I think it's my third bottle over the years so far, stupidly easy reach.Kouros really been hitting good on the chillier days lately too. What are everyone elses rotations looking like?
>>18708820>Anybody have experience with Ebay sellers?yes>The prices for this hugo boss I'm looking at are so low, makes me nervous.no I don't buy cheap stuffOn ebay you don't buy the item, you buy the seller. Avoid anyone with a rating lower than 99.8% and read the negative reviews. If you know how to spot a fake and are willing to go through the hassle of returning it then go for it, otherwise find a seller you trust.
>>18708828nice, Kouros is a summer frag for me thohere's mine: >>18708436 (will have to take a better picture)my current (30°C+) top10 (i rotate many frags):>Mugler Cologne>Nicolai Week-end in Normandy>Nicolai Cap Neroli / Neroli Intense / Fleur d'Oranger>PdE Un Bel Amour D'Ete>H24 Herbes Vives / H24 EDT>Eau d'Hermes>Eau de Basilic Pourpre>Tauer LADAS>Malle French Lover>Kouros
>>18708828First respectable collection I have seen on /frag/ after being here over a year.
>>18708820If its too good to be true, then it probably is.That being said, if the pictures look real and not stock images, the bottle looks real, and the seller has hundreds of reviews with 99%+ accuracy and no complaints of counterfeits... its probably real. Or at the very least, that's the most you could ask for.Check Raiders of the Lost Scents. Depending on brand they may have guides on how to spot fakes

I don't really care for dior outside of bois dargent tbqhwyf
>>18708857Have got even more of the juices cheekily hidden away
>>18708864I don't care much for the newest releases under Kurkdjian, besides maybe Cuir Saddle. But a lot Demachys stuff in the privee were pure bangers. Like Vanilla Diorama, Purple Oud, etc. Quite like me some 2011 Homme Intense too
Just tried guerlain vetiver and it's absolutely disgusting
>>18708868
>>18708868You fell for the memes. I was telling people here that it's just them being easily influenced, it's not an inherently enjoyable scent.I would still wear it, but only because I like weird stuff, no way someone really likes smelling that shit (like humans naturally like smelling flowers, fruit etc).
>>18708868Enjoy falling for some indian hacker forcing his wannabe white/trad scents.
>>18708868Do you like vetiver frags in general? How does Guerlains differ? Haven't actually tried it myself
>>18708868>t. noselet

>>18708878retard btw i just got a decant of chanel allure homme edition blance and this shit slaps frfr
>>18708879It's definitely an earthy and woody/smoky type of scent. Depends how it interacts with the other ingredients, but a pretty clean vetiver imo is Chanel's Sycomore. Recommend you try that to see how you like vetiver, bc it's one of the main notes there. If you dislike it you probs just don't like vetiver which is fair enuff
>>18708883I don't think I want to try another vetiver. I will say I really like tdh's dry down which i thought was attributed to vetiver but I think it's the cedar that I like
Is this a good alternative to MFK Grand Soir?
>>18708848Nice rotation m8.What I like about King Kouros is it works great in both the heat and cold imo, different notes tend to shine through depending on the temp of your skin. That almost metallic effervescence is so good in the heat. Conversely, the musk and herbs take on a richer, cosy aspect in like sub 10C weather.
Stop wearing perfumes/colognes. You have no idea what's actually in them and oftentimes it's bad shit like endocrine system/hormone disruptors. Use essential oils if you need to have a scent on you of some kind.
>>18708920>Stop wearing perfumes/colognes.
>>18708920>t. covid jab takerNice try
>>18708879>i didnt know what vetiver smelled like. but it smells very sharp, grassy, soapy, and smoky if that makes senseyeah that is what it smells like. grassy, woody, earthy, smokyguerlain vetiver is the reference vetiver for a reason
>>18708920>Use essential oils if you need to have a scent on youyes, they're natural so they're very good for you. I recommend lavender and hop oils, just to make sure you don't get those nasty hormone disruptorsif you're feeling adventurous, yew and poison ivy are great to just rub right on your skin, no oils needed so it's even more natural!
>>18708920>>18708979Make sure to also rub some undiluted Bergamot oil on your skin when you go to the beach, for that fresh summer feeling
AHS edt 50 ml was on sale for 80 euros, I thought about copping, now it's back up above 100. Don't like how some sellers bait you into fomo (successfully), and just change prices up and down daily.
>>18708983AHS is totally mid so i guess you'll be finealso a full bottle shouldn't cost much more than 100 eurobucks at a duty-free so 80 eur for a small bottle is not even a very good deal desu

>>18708828very nice post tho i dont get the hype for allure homme at all
>>18708996>>Suggest applying essential oils instead of fragrances implying it's healthierYeah, there are a number that are safe for your skin. Did you it was some ebin own gotcha by bringing up natural things that aren't safe on your skin? You argue like a drooling 14 year old downie.>>18708996>ignoring fluoride in his water supplyI don't like in turd world America so I don't have to worry about that. Holy shit you might actually have certifiable brain atrophy.
>>18709013>Did you it was some ebin>you might actually have certifiable brain atrophyIndeed you mightGo ahead and apply some neem, bringadi or mustard oil and smell like an indian grandmother if that's your thing
>>18709013by that logic, there are also some fragrances that are safe for your skinand at least fragrances are rigorously tested, essential oils that aren't made to be worn? less so.
I'm looking for niche light, breezy fragrances. The type of stuff where people say you can get a better scent profile for this price except I want it.
Got this today. It's the usual Angel's Share but with more vanilla and obviously a lot of cherry. For me an improvement on the original. Not too strong in terms of performance, which you can take as either good or bad, I didn't feel horrible wearing it at 25-30C.
>>18709122I don't get the weather thing, I unironically wear Le Male Elixir during the mediterranean summer and I feel good
>>18709046>I'm looking for niche>nicheI’m so fucking sick of seeing people use this word as if it implies some form of ‘better’.
>>18709188winter fragrances are usually too woody and heavy, warm notes that people don't want to smell when its 30C out. Especially because the smell will be stronger when you are sweating. People don't want to be reminded of warm apple pie, Christmas or a log fire in their bikini. The other way round is not too bad. Summer scents are fresh, aquatic, fruity. Nobody is gonna mind you smelling like that in winter. It just works better in the summer.
>>18709192I guess some specific vibes are more winter appropriate but they're pretty rare, sure I wouldn't wear SWY intensely or By the fireplace in summer because roasting chestnuts and cinnamon just scream Christmas, but the entire Le Male line or even spicy, resinous ambers like LADDM don't clash with the heat in my experience
>>18709189retard
>>18709193some frags can be really cloying in the heat. for example, i probably wouldn't wear Ombre Leather or Musc Ravageur in the summer heat >>18709196not really. why not just look for a frag with that profile? if you found a designer that BTFO's a niche frag, would you still cop the niche frag simply because it's more expensive or in the niche category?
>>18709193I'm fairly new to the scent game so I stick to the profile to not make obvious faux pas. Spicebomb Extreme is probably my favorite fragrance out of my entire collection but I don't wear it for 6 months in the year. These months I'm mostly on the Versace Eros, Toy Boy (1 of my favorites) and Missoni Wave + some cheap shit I bought when I got into fragrances and I just want to finish the bottle to make space.
Bros, I tried Rabanne Phantom and its flankers and it was surprisingly good. I also really like the new Le Male in Blue. Am I just a sucker for lavender?
>>18709192yeah but if you like smelling like that thing without choking people out then there isnt an issue. i dont give a damn if some baddie at the beach in july smells like apple pie and you wouldnt either
>>18709192>winter fragrances are usually too woody and heavy>heavyI would disagree here. Mainly because the actual issue is, as another Anon mentioned, how cloying the frag is. Usually this is a bad combo of fruit and sweetness. My personal reaction is that these two just make everything "feel" sticky or, worse, could remind you of rotting fruit in the heat. That's why so many "summer" frags just go with citrus zest instead. Tbh, I think it's pretty reasonable to discount a lot of "winter" frags as winter frags since people are autistic and want frags to slot nicely into a specific bucket to try and make it easier to search. Frankly, decants are still the only real way to go when attempting to determine if something can be worn during the summer. My most recent buy was Invasion Barbare. That can be worn during the summer. However, I had several people suggesting I but Chypre Palatin instead. Because MCDI gives so many samples, I got a bunch of Chypre Palatin and instantly realized two things: >It's nice, but so was everything else.>I would never wear it because it's so cloying, or "heavy". But there are other things I own with a similar(ish) profile to Chypre Palatin that I would and do wear during the summer.
Does chanel ever do sales? Superleg and blanche are good but I dont want to pay full for them.
>>18709198Have you ever considered someone can have already tested the major designer versions of X profile? Niche is inherently harder to test so word of mouth like /frag/ are more important.
>>18708868I thought so too at first. Now its my favorite
>>18709245No. The best you can do is to go to Macy's and see if they do a 15% sale on all Chanel products. That is Macy's eating the cost, not Chanel.
>>18709245Never seen Chanel do a sale in Australia.>>18709262Like what this anon said, the only time Chanels go on sale, is when it's a stockist and even then it's usually like maximum 20% off retail. For e.g. at David Jones or Myer. And what they can stock is usually limited to the basics
>>18709198so true saar just redeem the clone
>>18709020>and at least fragrances are rigorously testedLolLmao.Yeah you definitely took the vax. You'll be sterile in under a decade.
>>18709282Nta but fragrances are mainly alcohol mixed with perfume oils, which people have been using for centuries. Where is the issue? For e.g. you get more phthalates from using plastic food containers and bottles, etc. Do you use a special kind of toothpaste too? Bc besides the fluoride, there's a lot more there that you can absorb into the body through the thin membranes of your mouth. And you better not be using tea bags anon, you're getting millions of microscopic nanoplastics entering your bloodstream with every cup brewed.Implying spraying on perfume to be on par with mRNA bill gates jungle juice, is schizoid behaviour. While you're at it, don't breathe either, it's bad for you these days.

>>18709410>My goal is compliments from women
>>18709403Oh, didn't know that. It's a bit on the feminine side for a unisex with the jasmine.
Anyone heard of 72 Faubourg Saint-Honoré? They seem to be a micro brand that sells out of a single niche frag store in Paris (which isn't even their store). They have a frag I am interested in, but the price point makes me blanche as a blind buy, and it doesn't seem possible to get samples.
>>18709418which frag? they sell sample kits on their website so it's probably in there
>>18709410lmao
>>18709216Why's it called Invasion Barbare, there's nothing barbaric or invasionary about it, I swear next perfume I buy will be the most basic bitch soapy amouage because at least with amouage I can count on it staying for 3 days and 3 showers.>buy perfume called invasion barbare>doesn't smell anything like invasion barbare>buy fougere royale >basic skin scent in 30 minutes>etc

I need the best Sprite fragrance.
>>18709390Yes
>>18709410If you care what women think you should avoid clones. Women have a more advanced sense of smell than men so they can tell you're not wearing something that's 1:1.
>>18709427This, I'd wager they'd be more than happy to include a sample of it, if you were to purchase one of the other sample sets form them. Report back if you end up copping, they look really interesting
This stuff is sooooo amazing. Fizzy lime opening dries into a pleasant aromatic shaving cream. God it's beautiful
>>18709476And btw I hate dark resinous ambery fragrances. If you like them you probably have really bad BO because you need something nuclear to cover up your stank.

>>18709486Tbf I only copped the full bottle maybe a month ago after going through a 2ml decant. Out of about 10 orto parisi and nasomatto decants, Megamare was the one that really stood out to me (besides Baraonda - photorealistic whiskey, great for a whiskey drinker). Luxurious deep sea aquatic, kept coming back to it. If you like Aqua di Gio, this is a bit like the final boss of that DNA. You also really do not need much of it. The juice is potent, maximum 3 sprays and I could pick it up still 10hrs later and my jacket smelled like it for an entire week.I've also got a 2ml vial of Boadicea Aqua Sapphire, and it's bonkers how similar they smell.Overall, I'd recc it, but it's not the easiest grab in my collection. Has a certain mood to it. Hope that helps, anon
>>18709493
>>18709494Appreciate it. I already have a few aquatic frags and rarely go for them already but the musk bit interested me. I'll probably pass simply because it'd likely just sit on a shelf.

>>18709508>I DON'T HAVE SPACE FOR THIS SHIT AAAAAAAAAAAare you me?
>>18709501Yeah, it's definitely situational, even with really enjoying it, you gotta have the right occassion to wear a darker, moody aquatic. Was a spontaneous buy for me too - found a tester at a local stockist for around half retail price, so i nabbed it. Wouldn't have paid 360+ AUD for it tee be haitch
>>18709508>>18709511Time to upgrade your shelf bru
>>18709514I have a small wall that fits very nicely in it's space and looks good. I doubt I could find something suitable to replace it.
>SOTD InterludeAmouage continues to impress me, lads. At first, I didn't particularly like Interlude, neither on the tester strip, nor on skin. But after a couple of full wears, it really does open up a lot and transform as it dries down. That opening of smokey, burnt woods, very quickly develops this subtle incensey sweetness. What was harsh on the tester strip, is incredibly smooth once it hits my skin.Still dislike Reflection though.
>>18709519It's okay, I don't like Reflection either. Try Jubilation. I bought Interlude 53 and never looked back.

>>18709526I still think about the boomer I saw that grabbed a tester bottle of SWY Intensely and sprayed his chin with it about two dozen times before putting it back and walking away.
>>18709527He was simply saving some for later.
>>18709525I liked Interlude 53 so much better on paper than Interlude. The smokey woods were almost pungent, in a good way. Planning on getting a decant, to try it out and compare. Been meaning to try out Jubilation XXV too, how does it compare to 40?
>>18709526weak saucehttps://youtube.com/shorts/k9OdRgEcbrU
>>18709534I like them both, but I am probably going to get 40. I am in no rush though since it's a high price point no matter what, and Amouage isn't going to discontinue either anytime soon since Interlude and Jubilation are their best selling frags.

>>18709476It's basically a clone of Eau de Rochas Homme.
>>18709610There are Aussies here, so it's natural they want to support an Aussie designer.

>>18709641He's know for his desert inspired fragrances which are impressive compositions but not to my tastes. His rose fragrances are his best in my opinion. His sweet slop like Heraud are derivative but if you are into that they are good examples of it. Worth checking out but I likely not something you would end up with a lot of bottles of especially given the price.
>>18709732>especially given the price. As far as niche goes and considering their performance on average, I'd say Tauer is fairly cheap
Has anyone tried The Cut yet?
>>18709736this, LADDM costs 130 eurobucks which is basically a steal
Anyone here try Followed by Kerosene? Is it really as strong as the memes say?
Has anyone tried Caron Pour un Homme Le Matin? Is it good?
>>18709759yesyes, it's good (not very similar to the OG), people say this is Caron's version of the Aventus DNA and they are kinda right
Looking for a more modern take on Grey Vetiver.
Wow damn, Amouage's amber base goes so badly with the rest of Enclave, it defeats the point of the opening. >>18709773Grey Vetiver is already modern for a citrusy vetiver, and the Parfum is the most modern. If you want something creamer and softer there's Vetiver Moloko, something mineral there's Vetiver Extraordinaire, something minimalistic there's EN â l'extreme.I'd say Vetiver Extraordinaire is the best option, it certainly feels modern and the opening is dry and cool like that of Grey Vetiver.I haven't tried it but Encelade might also be a good option.
>hype up a fragrance in my mind>good price, good reviews, respectable name>finally get a chance to try it out>skin chemistry makes it smell sour and overall unpleasant Fucking Eau givreeeeee is right, back to the drawing board.>Boss bottled citrus, Chanel Superleggera, L'Homme Idéal Cologne Forte Guerlain , Dior homme sport 2021, Bohemian limeAny experience with the ones listed above lads?
>>18709806Boss bottled bold citrus is nice. I don't know how much it is (I wouldn't pay much because it's generic) but reminded me of something someone like an uncle would wear to a summer wedding in my youth 30 years ago. I really like it.Superleggera is just a typical blue aquatic scent, for me it's just very boring and also I don't personally love this style so I'd pass.I tried the two right after but I don't remember either at all besides remembering I felt that dior homme sport had absolutely no identity.
>>18709806>SuperleggeraBriefly tried it on a blotter when deciding between it and the original AHS. Ultimately went with the original, but the Super was very, very good. It drops the aldehydes completely, which makes it into a more contemporary fresh citrus musk. if you want a dependable daily that's suitable for year round, and like Chanel fragrances, it will probably be an easy reach,>Homme Sport 2021Wasn't a fan. It takes the new Homme formula and adds citrus and musk. I found it to be a bit dissonant with the soft woody DNA. I kept sniffing my wrist, but it was to try and figure out why my nose was so confused and displeased. Try the Cologne or Eau for Men (if you can find it).
>>18709773encre noire sport? mon vetiver?
>>18709410yeah but they're dogshit and if you can't tell that they smell bad, then your sense of smell and opinion is worthless
>>18709247no because the original post doesn't make any vague reference to that. moreover, it asks for light and breezy profiles. i don't think he tried everything that has this much of a generic description

>>18709864>le akigalawood face
>>18709641I've only ever tried Lonestar Memories and didn't particularly take to it. I didn't get much smokiness, and the leather was really subtle. What shone through was a balmy medicinal/herbal top composition. Not unpleasant, but not what I'd been expecting. It didn't spur me to order a full sample set.As for a house where I haven't yet smelt a miss, and all frags I've tried have lasted ages on skin, my vote would go to Francesca Bianchi tbqh.
Anybody have much to say about BeauFort frags, or the Iron Duke in particular? Can't find any decants of itThe note writeup sounds interesting with that gunpowder accord that likely also gives it that metallic edge people mention. Otherwise:>Leather>Smoky>Tobacco
>>18709864for me, its mfk
>>18709737I've tried on paper twice and it's certainly really good, yet to try on skin so no idea about longevity. That said I've already got a few very barbershoppy kind of frags so id probs skip a full bottle of it myself
Wearing bois d'argent again today. I love how the light patchouli and woods make it smell like chocolate dust.
>>18709879I have a bottle of Pyroclasm and a decant of Iron Duke. I thought I was going to love Iron Duke from the notes but it smells like a barn with a faint whiff of blue cheese to me
>>18709879i have iron duke. what do you want to know about it?
>>18709629On a warm weather the oregno note gets amplified on my skin.
>>18709904Is the leather note quite prominent, like, say, Black Knight by Bianchi? Or a dirtier Cuoium vibe?>>18709908Would you say it was worth the cop? How true to the note readup is it?
>>18709806>DHS: Citrus mixed with a good dose of woods, one of my favourites in the DH lineup. The "Sport" part is somewhat misleading insofar as it's very versatile, not just for summer/spring wear. Longevity is also pretty decent for an EdT on me>Superlegg: Bright and refreshing AHS flanker that does away with the aquatic notes, but with a bit more substance and less emphasis on citrus than AHSC.>Bohemian Lime: Very dry, zesty citrus that has this nice subtle woodsy drydown
>>18709629I'm in the southern hemisphere so it's getting colder, like 15Cish days. I'd probably be more inclined to use this in the winter, but like the other poster said, there's that oregano note that is really pleasant on warm skin. I've got a feeling Purpose would be good both in the hotter and colder weather, with those clean spices and woods.
>>18709926leather, smoke, gunpowder, tobacco are pretty much what you get out of the frag. although the leather is prominent, i think the tobacco/gunpowder stand out more to me.it's a frag that i quite like, though i can't really wear that often. as much as i like it, it's definitely more "challenging" than other frags. the scent can be a little harsh, a bit uncommon imo for a perfume and os quite strong. So i tend to wear mainly when im going about my day doing errands (typically when it's colder and rainy), but if im expected to be close to others i'll stick to other more popular leather frags like Ombre/Tuscan leather. i got it for fairly cheap on a discounter and im pleased with it. what is worth purchasing is up to you. i sprayed it side by side with Cuoium and it's not as leathery. Cuioum, at least compared to Iron Duke, comes off as sweeter and more animalic.
>>18709641If you go a few threads back there was just a conversation about this. The short version (imo) is he was great at one point in time but that time has passed. The thing(s) that made him famous are still good, but no longer unique/groundbreaking. >>18709643>>18709657Get over hatred of CAH and realize that nowadays most flankers are completely unrelated to the original from the line. CAHSEE, Edition Blanche, or Missoni Wave which is now a discontinued clone of CAHSEE are all exactly what you’re describing. >>18709745I’ve tried both but very limited. The difference between Follow and Followed is a perfect example of how the same ingredients smell wildly different when applied in different concentrations. Most people describe natural animal musks like civet as an example, smells good in trace but like poop in large amounts, Follow/ed is the same thing for sweet gourmands. Follow was relatively well received from looking at review sites, and then he dialed up the concentration on ingredients and Followed was born, which is generally rated much, much lower. Not because it’s too strong per se, but because the scent is perceived differently (badly) when it’s in higher concentrations. >>18709806Superleggera was just another citrus freshie to my nose, not bad but nothing special. DHS2021 is much different than the others because the opening is pleasantly spicy citrus, almost scratchy in a good way, but the base is resin without being too smoky. It’s really not much of a sport fragrance at all, but it’s fantastic nonetheless. BL is a relatively well-lasting citrus freshie that keeps its citrus notes sour instead of sweet like many others. It dries down to an enjoyable faintly woody scent that maintains some citrus semblance. Some Anons register the coriander(?) as hotdogs, which I never got, so try before you buy.
>>18709953>Not because it’s too strong per se, but because the scent is perceived differentlyTo your nose does it smell like curry
>>18709952Thanks anon, that all sounds right up my alley then. I got a decant of Cuoium and that sweetness was actually somewhat disappointing and offputting imo, for what people otherwise described as a challenging frag. Found a stockist that has a full bottle of Iron Duke unboxed for around half price, will keep my eye on it
I'm relatively new to fragrances.I'm looking to buy Al Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco Edition, I got a chance to sample it and I'm addicted to the fresh carton of cigarettes/pipe tobacco smell and was wondering if there's anything else in that wheelhouse I should keep an eye out for.
>>18709874Can confirm basically all Bianchi’s last for ages, but her DNA as a whole makes so many of her fragrances smell so samey. >>18709879Beaufort London is absolutely great at dark, heavy, (often smoky) fragrances. Unfortunately, like Tauer, they’re running (perhaps, ran, past tense) out of innovation. Thankfully their original great hits are still great if it’s what you’re into, like Iron Duke, Tonnerre, and a couple others depending on individual tastes. Their… 4-5 most recent releases have been flops imo, with Absent Presence being the worst offender. Force Majeur is going in a different direction, more aquatic based, but I haven’t been wowed. Have yet to sample Sirenade because the other 3 were such let-downs. As for Iron Duke, it’s a must try if you like the note write up. The leather is heavy, smoky, and acrid almost. There’s definitely a metallic tinge running all the way through the base. The heart has this perfect interplay between soapy notes and very present but *not* overstated animalic facets. It was one of my first fragrances where I really felt the full note transition from top to bottom with a standout heart. All that said, it’s definitely challenging compared to most fragrances, even other leathers. I don’t notice tobacco so much, but my nose just may not be well trained to picking it up. As for the rest of BFL, I love Acrasia. To my nose it’s like metallic bubblegum, but I’ve never seen anyone else describe it as such so take it with a grain of salt. Tonnerre is arguably their most famous for its bombastic, over the top smoky scent. We’re talking 1000 years of creosote build up in a bottle, but wildly enough it -does- have this distinctly aquatic top note. Terror & Magnificence and Rake & Ruin are both good but feel like two slightly different takes on an abstract brief. Both good, but redundant together. Lignum Vitae is their take on a gourmand, it ain’t bad but it’s not their bag, again to my nose
>>18709954It’s been a long time since I sniffed it so I can’t say for certain, but very likely yes. I think he most likely used Sotolon to get the syrupy sweet smell in Follow, because when you smell Sotolon in low concentrations it smells like maple syrup (smoky sweet) but in high doses it smells like, as you said, curry. >>18709964Absent Presence is by far their worst release, it’s a weak ass ‘dusty lemon’ scent akin to Lemonheads candy. It’s not *BAD* it’s just so weak and disappointing compared to their normal wheelhouse. Fathom V is an intensely green floral, VERY stemmy. Coeur de Noir is their take on an ink and leather fragrance. Unique. Very short lived citrus and ginger, much longer lived darker, liquid smoke scent that eventually gives way to an abstraction of leather and paper. There’s a metallic note present but it comes off as much ‘wetter’ than any other I’ve smelled. On the way to the dry down it smells chemical-y for a while and the base comes off as musty leather to me. Unpleasant. Vi Et Armis is undeniably the worst thing I’ve smelled except Secretions Magnifiques. I assume it’s the opium note. It smells like weed smoke, burnt chemical waste, and scorched cough syrup. Zero redeeming qualities.
For how long can others smell mennen on you? I've never tried it.
Is this thing good
This weeks rotation on a cold and rainy week >Oud Rosewood>Santal 33>Bon Monsieur>Antaeus >Tabac 28Having given Santal a few solid wears I think I might get rid of it. Im on the fence though since there is something weirdly dirty and sexy mixed in with the green vegetal sandalwood. This is my first wear of Tabac and I’m also not terribly impressed with it. I think I am due for another round of purging decants. Once I decide if I want to commit to a bottle of Beach Hut I’ll probably buy that and then start unloading.
>>18710098>AntaeusI hate you for reminding me of another frag I absolutely do not need to buy but probably will anyway.
>>18710100Why? You can sample it easy enough. No point getting a bottle just for the sake of it. I use it a lot in cooler weather but it’s a pretty mature profile most people probably don’t care for.
>>18710102>You can sample it easy enough. NTA, but not in the US you can’t. It’s only sold in specific Chanel Fragrance boutiques.
>>18710117joop homme
>>18710117Ultra Male.
>>18709964>>18709965This was really helpful, mate. Appreciate the indepth overview of the house. Gave me an idea of what to try and what to avoid. Funnily enough Vi Et Armis was listed at a huge discount, likely not a big seller. One of my favourite Bianchis is Black Knight, so Iron Duke is sounding really quite good, esp as we're coming into winter down here.
I need to break my hands. I just bought Avignon, Caron Pour Un Homme Le Matin, and all of House of Cosmo's lineup as samples. >inb4 "not Zagorsk"I didn't like it as much.
>>18710100its worth having if you enjoy absolute masculine profiles that arent fougeres
>>18710059yeah, it's like a rum chocolate cake patchouli without being a straight up gourmand
>>18709960Used to smoke rollies and a pipe. I get reminded of that rich, incredible smell you get from a bag of Port Royal, or similar baccy leaf, in frags like:>Dior Tobacolor>PdM Herod>Lutens Chergui (this one reminds me more of pipe tobacco)>Burberry London
>>18710098>Antaeus>Bon Monsieur>Oud Rosewood
>>18710117
Is Acqua di parma Colonia any good?
>>18710239Yes, it’s very good. Though, like all colognes, not very strong.
>>18710098>Santal 33Every time I’ve tried it, I couldn’t get past the scent of pickles.
