>>18711380We've been through this before, most of the things on that Anons chart are still available. A couple of the major standouts that people recognize aren't, admittedly. He won't update the chart because in his words, if you pay him to buy frags, he'll review them and decide if he wants to add them to chart. You're right, but like >>18711381 mentioned, making a new chart is expensive and time consuming and no one else appears to want to do it. There are a few Anons here with very big collections (or cumulatively have had very large collections but purge them regularly except for the most expensive/hard to get shit) but they don't appear to want to make a new graph. The guy who made the first graph (might) be the Nicolai shill but I doubt it since there's like 2 Nicolai frags on there. Also, he's posted his current collection many times and it doesn't match the graph.
Trying to decide what to take with me on a trip to Spain in the next weeks.I have it narrowed to one of these things + like 12ml ADG parfum. They're YSL L'homme, Eros Energy, Platine Blanc, Boucheron Pour Homme, Rare Reef, Estee Lauder Pleasures for men, Hawas tropical, Theoreme Rue Borca, Rayhaan Aquatics, Hermes Orange Verte, Al Haramain Portfolio Neroli Canvas, Zimaya Itqan Noir.

Part of me feels insane for thinking about shelling out a pretty fortune to smell like clean clothes with a bit of laundry detergent. I have the niche itch, since I've never gone past designer, and that supposed je ne sais quoi that makes it smell like it depends from the heavens is too alluring to shrug off. My cope is that its price occupies a higher tier than designer but still not the highest among niche, so it feels budget friendly in comparison. Even if I get it and feel ripped off, maybe that's part of the journey too.

>>18711505>LattafaListen, I buy clones sometimes. With frags, I am retarded only to a degree but Lattafa is terrible. It's like the reps I post in the watch threads to make them seethe. Do I buy the really shitty Ali clone, or a super rep that cost 500-700 dollars of a $10-250,000 watch? I do the latter, obviously.

>>18711340It’s good. I am able to get solid day out of it, even in high heat and activity. >>18711364If the shoe fits….>>18711438Have you at least finished a 5ml?
>>18711544I'm positive there's a Light Blue flanker for this but I don't remember which. It might be Italian Love or Summer Vibes. It fits the bill for the opening but it doesn't dry down very woody; if you want something that goes more in that direction there's Costa Azzurra EDP, which doesn't open citrusy but has the drydown you're looking for.
>>18711539I'll preface this by mentioning I've got 6 other tobaccy frags already and it's a note I really enjoy in all of its facets.Went through a 2ml sample with some full wears, and I would even go as far as to say it's my favourite tobacco fragrance now. There's a richness here that develops with a few hours of wear and has a beautiful smoky-sweet dry down. Also relatively dry as far as sweetness is concerned, which I appreciate a lot, as it's accurate to how a good quality natural pipe tobacco, or cigar smells. The mixture of other herbs, resins and incense all help to give it this refreshingly pungent and warm spicy aspect too.Overall very well put together, and easily a favourite of mine in the Amouage lineup. Looking forward to using it now that the cold is starting to set in.
>>18711539Also yeah the caps are cheap plastic, but the bottles themselves are glass and look a bit nicer in person. Extra 15mls of juice was a nice bonus in any case
>>18711556not sure what they are thinking desuyou pay 300-400 bucks for an exclusive frag and they send you some plastic shit, not good
Think I'm gonna get memed and unironically send it on a TdH EDT
>>18711557It's also a dabber, no atomiser, so kind of useless as a travel spray on its own. Not a major issue, as I've got plenty of pipettes and atomiser bottles to decant into, but it would've been a nice touch imo for the price you pay for their frags.Cannot stop sniffing my arm though with the Royal Tobacco, it's heavenly m8
>>18711559If ur a retarded zoomer who still sucks on mommas titties you're not gonna like it
>>18711565I'm 35 nigga and I'm blind buying 6.7 oz of that shit
>>18711559TdH EdT is unironically an absolute banger. Lasts a good while for me and it's a nice and 'put-together' scent for being at work. No brainer frag if you like vetiver
>>18711570I prefer eau givree but it doesn't last
>>18711570At least half the comments on fragrantica for black linen are references to TdH so that should be a good sign Full send blind buying a fat bottle
>>18711575cheers, anonit is indeed a good frag (which you can buy for pebbles at discounters)
>>18711559If you like it, pick up the parfum as well. The EDT is peak, but if you want to push it to the max in terms of richness and depth, the parfum is exceptional.>>18711564Have you tried Interlude Black Iris?
>>18711380someone pay jeremy fragrance to do it
>>18711596If I say "Fresh, long-lasting, compliment getter" you probably read it in his voice. Jeremy is a washed up shill now sadly.
I am putting forth that this should be added to the cheap frags list. It's fucking great, and costs $20-25 bucks.
>>18711370it's my home scent during early winter
Looking for a lavender/vanilla frag: Le Male or Caron PUH?the jPG bottle seriously throws me off, but the Caron's performance isn't great so im not sure
>>18711637Le Male (EDT) is a modern(ish) interpretation of the PUH DNA (lavender+vanilla), nowadays it's a good all-rounder frag>the JPG bottle seriously throws me offyou are a homo for wearing perfume anyway, why worry about minor shit like the bottle?
For all the time and money you niggas put into smells I better not catch yall using scented antiperspirant, body wash, or shampoo
>>18711654>mfw when i use Nicolai's Fleur d'Oranger soap as shampoo and body wash
>>18711357Don't mind the others anon I actually think it's nice that we get to talk to other people about frags on a whim like this. There's a social aspect to the hobby that is never commented about here and it's cool to see other people interested in what we're interested.
>>18711529>>18711537I have never tried an Amouage frag but it seems to be one of the most consistently liked niche houses hereWhat should I check out that is absolutely worth trying? I tend to like oriental fougeres and gourmands, generally speaking I like sweet frags
>>18711654>antiperspirant, body wash, or shampooI don't use any of those, just a bar of soap. My laundry detergent has minimal fragrance.
>>18711652good argument. plus i already own Toy Boy so my fate was already sealed
>>18711637PUH smells old and powdery. The lavender and vanilla in Le Male is sharper and more distinct. If you want to smell like an old french man get PUH, otherwise forget about it.>>18711670Amouage tends to be drier and heavier. Not as much sweet. I have tried>Gold Man>Interlude>Interlude Black Iris>Royal Tobacco>Silver Oud>Reflection >Beach Hut Manand liked all of them. Interlude is the best intro to the house. I also want to try Journey and Memoir
>>18711396Solid, it's very med summer, took it last year on vacation to Santorini. Performance is underwhelming though and I thought to maybe do something different this year.>>18711415>>18711417Bottle is small enough to carry around, thought of that actually. >>18711407Everyone around me except my gf has hated it (found it dated, more like). I still never feel cleaner than when wearing Boucheron.
>>18711654this shit doesnt matter. those things becomes a skin scent after an hour after you apply them at best and anything you spray on is going to completely overpower them
>>18711735>these chemicals i put on my skin certainly don't interact with the other chemicals i put on my skinkek
>>18711712>drier and heavier. Not as much sweetI'll try a few samples anyway but are there any niche houses that have really good gourmands or excel at sweeter scent profiles?

I never apply perfume directly to my skin but instead spray my clothes before I put them on. I don't think it's healthy to put that shit directly on your skin day after day after day for years or even decades.Anyone else here who doesn't spray on skin?

I really like the drydown of Nautica Voyage, and especially I get this clean florally smell with it after I've already washed it once and it's deep in to the dry down. What could that smell be? After all the green notes have gone. Is there a fragrance that has that smell?
went fragless today but sampled picrelthe iris is very well done, I would even call it impressive, but not sure if it's worth a cop just yetwill sample again in a week or two
If any of you were just wearing gucci guilty absolute at the local Kroger just know that I wear it better than you and you look like shit
after trying many gay ass niche scents with tea and shit i wore drakkar noir today and WOW, it mogs like 95% of niche garbage out there

>>18712119chypres because they have more variety

I know everyone throws a fit at the idea of spraying your animal, but she literally just rolls around all over my pillows and blanket before I can even get into the bed. Or is she just into /frags/?
>>18712159Ebola is back on the menu.
>>18712160>letting dog roll around in bedAmericans sure do some crazy shit like that and wearing shoes indoors/in bed.But that aside, I do let my dog sniff my arm when ive sprayed a frag sometimes and his reactions are gold. You know it's a banger if he sniffs, does a double take, sniffs again and then violently sneezes like a mf

>>18712222"first world country" btw
>>18712222Same shit in Australia, everything is pretty much behind glass under lock and key in chemist warehouses or department stores (targets, kmarts, etc) for example. You gotta ask the workers to unlock em and spray sample strips for you, pain in the ass. Myer and David Jones youve got testers out in the open, but in the shittier areas the attendants are honed in on you when youre in their zone, because cunts steal testers all the time. Cunts be slipping a couple of tom ford frags into their trackie dacks and then pissing off
What’s a good fragrance for summer in countries in south east asia that would pair up well with Aether by French Avenue. Preferably low cost.
>>18712302Any generic freshie from Mykonos
Either I go anosmic real fast or most frags other than amouage and ironically some cheap dupes/al-rehab have really, really poor longevity. Montale projects for a couple hours at most, then stops, on me and on my wife. TDH/yatagan/moustache, fougere royal, profumum tundra, heroique - same. Aramis is kinda in between but it's crap. Al-rehab, proraso wood & spice, ambre russe (especially ambre russe) - stay for 5+ hours. Amouage, on the contrary, lasts forever - caught wafts of silver oud from 1 spray on each wrist, after 2 days and 3 showers. But I am not a fan of Amouage - I don't want a perfume that's more complex than me.
>>18712316longevity is a result of ingredients, not quality. Some notes/aromachems simply can't last a long time. However most designerslop doesnt last because you're meant to get scammed into buying it after smelling the top notes in store.
>>18712317Well what do I buy then. I like my tdh and yatagan a lot, but reapplying every hour is lame.
>>18712196I love my dog, and she is comfy and enjoys falling asleep on my chest, it's cute. She is also based.
>>18712301The shittier areas in the US don't even carry that. The most you'll find is cheap shit like in the OP pic. Tom Ford, PdM, Jimmy, Chanel, etc. isn't stocked because it just gets grabbed.
>>18712319You may be going asnomic to some scents to be honest. You can try applying an unscented moisturiser before you apply, it can hold on to fragrance for longer than bare skin. Unfortunately you need to seperate longevity from the scent and just accept that certain frags will not last as long without modification/addition of different ingredients. I've noticed social media the last few years putting a massive emphasis on longevity and sillage as if theyre aspects of a scent to be judged rather than the result of the composition.
>>18712280What would the correlation be? That feels more like a regular clothing /fa/ move not a frag one.
>>18712322Understood, thanks.
>>18712322Not him but I've also noticed that I go easily anosmic. Right now the only frag I have that I don't go noseblind to and manage to pick up throughout the day is Le Male Elixir, but even some beastmode stuff like Sauvage Elixir I stop smelling after an hour (this used to lead to me using like eight to ten sprays of Sauvage Elixir or Bois Imperial lmao)That being said I do think longevity and projection are important factors in a fragrance, and I struggle to find houses that consistently make well performing fragrances that also smell good. Crivelli is one but I don't like their scent profiles at all, the only decent one is Oud Cadenza and it's mediocre
>>18712320nice, definitely a good girl
>>18712323binge eaters needed something to replace their binge eating habit with and a lot of them defaulted to fragrances
>>18712330...did they? I'd say Pokemon cards and Gacha games hit that way harder.

>>18712278>>18712288>>18712229What about sunscreen?>>18712301What's the demographic breakdown of such areas?
>>18712349Well, to not put too fine of a point on it, any mixture of the following:>druggos>derros>abos>lebos>various other shades of browns that usually roam in groupsAsians are generally speaking pretty lawful I've noticed, not much crime even in their majority areas, even the poorer ones. They have a sense of pride and sense of honour that probably prevents them from stealing en masse. Goes without saying majority of decent Aussie/European areas (i.e. not drugged out on boatloads of ice), also lack these problems.>SOTD Amouage Royal TobaccoVery cosy, chums, was about 10C or so today. Can still clearly catch whiffs of it 12hrs later, incredible fragrance
>>18712353I've literally never seen fragrance locked up except at chemist warehouse, that seems to be a company wide thing (they mainly sell cheap shit which is not locked up and has testers). Mecca, sophora, Myers etc it's all out for testing
>Tobacco Honey>Naxos>Althair>Angel's Share>Spiritueuse Double Vanille>LaytonWhich others should I try in the same vein? Gourmand or sweet but with a more complex scent profile than the typical JPG or rabanne stuff
>>18712316>>18712327I'm always curious about people who go anosmic and their habits:>How many sprays?>Where do you spray?>How often do you rotate your fragrance?
>>18712367>How many spraysI start cautiously but when I start going noseblind I'll just go with 10-12 by default>WhereBack of ears, back of neck, sometimes forearms>rotateAdmittedly not much right now because I only have 3 fragrances and a bunch of samples

I’m getting the itch to buy something. I’m thinking to get samples of Amouage Memoir and Journey, or Roja Oceania. I don’t really have a use case for the Amouages though. I want a complex and rich summer scent with great longevity. I wore Beach Hut Man today and I love it but the aromatic greens kind of remind me of Bon Monsieur which I already have. It’s not in the notes but I swear there’s some kind of musk in the base of BHM that really feels similar.

>>18712761any specific recommendations? I quite liked Baraonda in the store, but I would guess that is the most normie of Nasomatto's lineupbut what can I do if I have basic taste? the most polarizing fragrance that I like is Fahrenheit, maybe The Moon but that's getting quite niche>>18712769>Pour Monsieur EdT or Habit Rougethanks anon, I'll try these out
>>18712767it's just some desk light with a directed beam that I had on the side, original shit phone pic had the same lighting setupI'm not gonna get the fucking profoto out for a 4chan post lmao
How do I train my nose to mature and appreciate more scents? TdH eau givree smells like a compost heap with mulch and mind games were all forgettable.
>>18712813>mind games were all forgettableYour nose seems fine. It's literally a scam brand.
>>18712813>TdH eau givree smells like a compost heap with mulchHow? It smells like a rindy grapefruit and minerals in the opening and the drydown smells faint bug spray.
>>18712666you're missing vetiver, something green, something musky (clean or dirty) and a leather-forward frag
>>18712813>Comparing a TdH flanker and masstige slopYou need to go farther back in regard to trainingBut also what >>18712827 said, you literally are so far away…
>>18712813smell more perfumes. the earlier the better.
>>18712816kek mind games has a fragrance everyone rants and raves about but its just drakkar noir for 10x the price
>>18712940this thread has gotten too comfortable using niche when it should be saying masstige aint seen that used in a min
are zoomers unable to smell vetiver without crine?
>want to buy something>all samples are ticked out>see nothing new>dont want to blind buyi guess its that time again
building it up until I do blind buy then regret it, 75%+ chance
>>18713029Yes my little zoomzoom nose only like mass appealing safeslop like the new paradigme and Y iced>>18713040Haha nice spoilers retard also dont blind buy
>>18712813>TdH eau givree smells like a compost heapjust sniff more frags and you will get there (also vetiver kinda does smell like a compost heap)>mind games were all forgettable.nevermind, your nose works just as God intended
I like it when a fragrance is a little zestyYeah I wanna smell like a make up or lipstick bring it onRecommend me some good zesty stuff
>>18713050>I want my fragrance to smell like [other product with fragrance added]
>>18713050Zesty like gay or zesty like citrus>lipstickI just learned that Iris is largely the reason why lipstick smells like that
>>18712813Getting blasted by orange in the opening > another generic blast of lemon tbqhSOTD: TdH EdT
>>18713084Lemon is good if it’s Mediterranean DNA desu
>>18712593>aquatic fragranceYou just know Indians gonna love this
>>18713100I hate aquatics, the only somewhat decent ones are Bisch's Kenzo line and even then they're not that good
>SOTD: Eau de Guerlaingood stuff
>>18712562Arabs would never
>>18712732Sacred Wood is a really nice scent
>>18713105Based
>>18713050Ive worn Portrait of a Lady sometimes, really makes you feel like a gay vampire
I can't wear my gourmands in the summer heat, is the rabanne phantom line good? I like lavender
>>18713132>phantomThe vanilla note fucked up the smell
Guys, I think I can't watch Curly's videos anymore. She swears a lot lately.
>>18713142Vanilla and lavender is a classic combo though, what makes it not work in this case? What else could I check out that isn't a freshie (I dislike sharp citruses and aquatics) but is not too heavy for summer?
>>18712222>>18712288Welcome to Amerikkka
>>18713147The vanilla smell is too sweet for me. Maybe it's just my nose.
I wonder what happened to coomer mutt. Never see him post on /frag/ these days.
>>18713159The gorillamindset guy with the disgusting black dude? He posts in other threads now because no one took his bait.
>>18713177Is he still posting gay porn?
>>18713145You ever watch gints scints? I like that southerners videos from time to time. Seems like a good dude
>>18713187Haven't seen it. I think he's also the guy who spams cringe Asian threads because it fits his MO of shitting up threads and the log.
>>18713191Why would a brown mystery meat like him pretending to be East Asian incel on the Internet?
>mfw I have ascended past the point of caring about using dupes and buy any sandnigger frag I want
>>18713159I was avoiding bringing this up because I didnt want to tempt fate and bring him back here. Thanks dickhead
>>18713050Fille de Berlin
>>18713207I don't give a shit and will often get a dupe depending on context (price disparity, usage cases, realistic quality differential, etc). But I absolutely cannot stand some of the hideous bottle designs and no matter how much the frag is talked up, i refuse to have that shit loitering on my shelf.>a fucking oldschool radio on a dumb white bottle
>>18713236I bet you like JPG
I will never buy dupes because I'm not a poorfag. I also hate cover bands.
>>18713258Yes, good goy, you are not poor, make sure to spend and consume, and thus stimulate our business
>>18713241I refuse to even smell them, on the off chance that I might end up liking one of them and having to commit sudoku.
>>18713267Lmao bro, fragrance is a luxury item whether you're buying poorfag arab clones or designer or niche. You're not sticking it to anyone buying crap.
>>18713273You make a reasonable argument, and yet
>>18713272
i dont buy dupes because they are ugly and have stupid names. Towelheads really had you niggas spraying Liquid Brown
>>18713105Nice, I was literally just looking into this.
>>18713284Most do indeed look like complete ass. However, some are relatively decent, like the prereformulation Maison Alhambras that are completely unashamed near 1:1 copies, from bottle design, name, colour, everything.
>>18713284Also>Liking Althair to begin with
Okay actually I like the dupe more. However it also doesn't last for shit, probably even worse than the original. Fuck.
>>18713303blow suck rat?
>>18713303I probs wouldnt have bothered with an adg dupe tbqh m8Like a cl*ve christian dupe i understandOr a m*mo parisBut adg? Nah
>>18713303>worse than the original. Fuck....and the biggest dupe of the thread award goes to this anon
>>18713114I don't get gay or vampire from Portrait of a Lady, to me it's zesty in a flamboyant sort of way.
>>18713305That will be rs800 saar
>>18713308>Zesty in a flamboyant sort of waySo... In a gay vampire way?
>>18713310No, I don't see vampires as colorful, loud, or elaborate, I see them as monochromatic and sleek.
>>18713318Speaking of which, what scents are they wearin, boys?
>>18713321they wear gothrock frags like ELDO Tom Of Finland>t. knower
>>18713308>>18713114Regarding Frederic Malle I have also tried Carnal Flower in store and was mind-blown by how unique it was. I think its a bit unwearable in high humidity because of the amount of jasmine in it although its a perfect unisex fragrance for me. It has a slight Aventus vibe. Another one is Musc Ravageur which is nice but all I smell is vanilla and musk with a hint of a brown dude’s armpit.
>>18713105Still based. But people use to rip on this here a few years ago. Funny how quickly what’s in changes. I have two 500ml bottle I bought on eBay for $20 each. Sealed and sitting in storage for probably 60 years
>>18713267Nothing wrong with clones but no matter how much of a hissy fit you throw the only objection you have with the original is the price since you are literally defending a cheaper imitation. There is no other nuance.
>>18713325well, most people are retarded
>>18713307Worse performance, better scent, mongoloid.>>18713306It's 110 euro here, and it's a basic blue scent that you need to spray 30 times to get any performance with. I'm certainly not paying 8 times the price of this dupe for ADG so that L'Oreal can pay tens of thousands of middle managers (I worked in the building of the local L'Oreal headquarters, hundreds of useless people doing literally nothing, but they run bazaars where you could buy their products for like 1/10th the normal cost) - the factory robots and the brown people making the perfume with the same ingredients is the only constant.
>>18713326Well, yes and no. Whether someone can afford the original or not aside. It's also to do with how much of a brandfag you are and if you would be willing to pay an exponential amount more for ostensibly the same item, but [Brand].Not counting houses like Amouage where the quality you are paying for is tangible - the majority of designerslop (and a lot of nicheslop) is quite literally a more or less decipherable mix of>Chemical formula>Chemical formula>Chemical formula>et alScent molecules of the same formula, regardless of being naturally derived or not, will be perceived identically to the human nose. The question becomes how many of those natural ingredients already have known formulas that can be readily synthesized. How easily a fragrance can be duped directly relates to whether a known base is used, and how many unique scent molecules have to be replicated. That's partly why I've yet to smell a single good Amouage dupe for example. But Tom Ford? Fucking endless good dupes.
>>18713331A fair point, chum, I too hate L'Oreal
>>18713340Their 4711 dupe is shameless, literal scam
>>18713324Musc Ravageur doesn't smell like a brown dude, it smells like an apartment where an indoor dog lives.Kouros is the closest I've smelled to the changing room at the ghetto community center
>>18713340Fragrance World apparently made some good Amouage dupes, but then they all just disappeared overnight. Me and another Anon have talked about it before, and we think it is because Amouage threatened to sue them into the ground and take the reputation. You can find very few reviews on them since they were available for such a short period of time that it does make this lean a decent bit towards credible since it doesn't make sense Fragrance World would make a bunch of dupes, a small number of people who actually got their hands on them said they were good, and then FW suddenly liquidated the entire line in at most a few months.
>>18713369reputation loss*
>>18713369Fragrance world is too retarded lol, why would you even copy the bottle design? And it’s like 90% of their products. You have more balls than a Chinese counterfeiter at this point.
Been wearing Mandarino di Sicilia more often now that the hotter days are here. While I like it, I don't love it, it has a fuzzy sort of dry down that just feels artificial to me in some way.I want something maybe woodier, and subtle idk
>>18713376The most shameless one, IMO, is "Barakkat Rouge 540". Just a truly insane move.
>>18713381So that’s why Kurkdjian seethed at the dupes
>>18713369Very interesting, I hadn't heard of these. With this amount of money involved, it's absolutely no surprise if Amouage used all of Oman's resources to shut it down immediately or suffer a huge blow to both reputation and profits.
>>18713397>OmanBet that’s also what Fragrance World said when they read the lawsuit

>>18713430iris smells good, though. if your sexuality is questioned by a flower then you might actually be a faglord. no disrespect to pops
>>18713410I got TL at 40% and its real. Have worn it...thrice
>>18713446It’s too raspberry-centric for meI wear it at night outs. Smells good with beer breath
I've tried a lot of niche houses, and although the scents are undoubtedly complex and much more interesting than the average stuff you find at Sephora, as far as actually wearing fragrances go, I prefer "mass pleasing" scents simply because they're just more enjoyable to catch whiffs of throughout the day.But is it possible to find a compromise? Are there houses that consistently put out attractive, pleasant fragrances while still having complex and interesting scent profiles?
Tauer's Sundowner is beautiful
