>sotd: Nicolai Victoire
forgot about it for a while - still a very nice citrusy tea fragrance, perfect for summer heat.
>>
>>18726329
>do I spot some Nicolais in the back?
Yes, New York Intense and Patchouli Intense, although I've been considering giving away the latter because it's not to my taste (there's something too astringent in it, probably from the geranium + orange combo).

>I also see platinum egoiste there so it is an automatic approve from me
It's a banger, for sure. I also have the regular Egoiste (it's right behind PE on the pic).

I have tried the entire line and I agree with you, but I want a basic citrus freshie with good longevity and durability for work. I have ADG EDP for that right now but it’s not “it”. The only other option for me from the line is CAHSEE but I think theres a better chance the tonka gets heavy in very hot weather.
>>

>>
>>18726357
It definitely is. Or did you fall for the memes of it being challenging and weird when it's in fact one of the most inoffensive and mass pleasing frags around?
>>
>>18726360
I’ve had a sample for like a year. It’s not particularly refreshing or all that pleasant. It just smells like sea water. I would wear it if I worked on a fishing boat maybe.
>>
>>18726362
>It just smells like sea water
It smells like ambroxan and musk, stop browsing fragrantica
>>
>>18726365
>>18726362
Can confirm it smells musky with a refreshing ambroxan/calone aspect. Works well in the heat. Smells almost exactly like Boadicea Aqua Sapphire, certainly nothing like straight seawater.
>>
I give summer fragrances a lot of shit but when you find the good ones there is nothing better than overspraying the fuck out of them.
>>
>>18726365
>>18726368
It must be so bland having no imagination. Why are you suggesting this anyway when my original post was looking for a citrus fragrance like Superleggera? I get you tried it last week and are excited about not being a noselet because you didnt get pwned by le challenging gualtieri frag but you really don’t need to blow your load and mention it every time someone posts the word summer
>>
>>18726376
Stop sperging out, the point is that Megamare isn't le photorealistic dark aquatic you want it to be and you should rely on your actual sense of smell rather than fragrantica memes
>my original post was looking for a citrus fragrance
Just get DHS then if a basic musky ambroxan like Megamare still isn't inoffensive enough for you

The point is that you can stop lubing your dick with megamare because you just tried it and think its the best thing in the world. Come wintertime i’m sure you’ll be here with a new bottle up your ass telling us all that Cuoium is actually a sweet and inoffensive animalic leather and not the brutal raw dirty challenging whatever that everyone says. If you could read more than 2 words before slamming LE MEGAMARE into the comment box you would know that a musky ambroxan is not what I’m looking for at all, if it was I would be wearing megamare and not posting about fucking Chanel, which is completely stylistically opposed to Orto Parisi. Lurk for another year and smell 200 more fragrances before you reply to this post.

picrel is my SODT, I bought a full bottle (125ml) for like 20 bucks, the best lavender in the game (only parfum flanker is better). Drydown is a little bit old fashioned for me but still a great frag.
>>
>>18726368
nope, it smells weird, I mean it's potent as hell but still mid/low scent profile, it's marin themed maybe with some heavy musk base
>>
>>18726469
Cool water is nice but a bit harsh for a fresh fragrance.

Eternity is one of the best things I have ever tried, I think one of my parents had it as some point because I remember both the bottle and the scent. I have 200 ml that I have to spray 30+ times to get any lingering scent from, unfortunate.

Chrome EDT I barely remember, it's okay but to me a nothing burger.

CDNIM was suggested to me I think by my gf and got me into fragrances. I wore it on a work trip for 10 days every day and it reminds me of that time, but I find it too harsh to wear nowadays (could also be that my atomizer got fucked). Still, it's a great option to project POWA.

Paradise Garden is to me barely mid, and usually smells bad to me - but my gf loves the clone I got, wore it herself, and I got a complement recently from a young woman on it randomly, so evidently chicks dig it.

Versace Man Eau Fraiche is just basic clean. Nice scent, my brother wore it growing up, but it's entirely forgettable to the point that now I can barely recall the scent despite sampling it 5 days ago or so again.

Le Beau EDT don't remember if I even tried, no opinion.

Obsession EDT ASSUMING it's the for men one, is an amazing clean but not summery scent. Again top 10 out of anything I ever tried, CK just have such bangers.

No idea what King is.

>>
>>18725025
Plenty of things will fire dopamine in your brain, and plenty of people are happier with the comfort of what they have than the risks and costs of trying new things.
>>18725045
Since having a full bottle will make you like it more than you would the same frag if you only tried it in a store or owned a sample, the risk is to keep the bottle for reasons that have nothing to do with how you like the scent.
I hope that's clear enough now.

Risvelium is the best of the lot. Viride was pretty linear and rather unnatural, also similar to Absinth. Bergamask is structurally identical to Megamare except its overripe lemons instead of sea notes. Don’t discount Brutus though, its not fresh but its wearable year-round.
>>18726605
I like the profile and I want something decent and simple for work. It will be replacing ADG EDP. I have tried all kinds of summer shit ranging from Roja and Amouage to Orto Parisi to other basic designers and none of it is quite what I want. And I can get BNIB 100ml for like 175CAD all day long. Pretty inexpensive all things considered, especially when I’m about to list like $650 in bottles and decants for sale to thin my collection.

New arrival. 2007 formulation. Opens very citrusy, then woody (I got concerned here because of how woody it was), settles after about 10 minutes into a good, masculine scent that's an earthy, citrus-lavender and spicy blend. I don't pick up any patchouli.

My vote goes to Viride because I generally like astringent green herbal notes. Not as "green" a weedy as Mal-Aime, and entirely wearable in the heat.

Bergamask is good, but the musk has a slightly sebaceous aspect to it that isn't entirely pleasant imo after a few full wears. It isn't rotten or anything, but it has that fresh raw meat/skinner carcass type of muskiness that comes through. It's really subtle, but possible to be picked up on, esp if you've ever skinned an animal.

When I first tried it all I smelled were spices with a hint of sweet/ambery booziness. But after a while it got significantly better and the other notes (especially the fig leaf) started to pop up, probably due to the maceration process. I like it and it's probably one of the few niche-quality bang-for-the-buck perfumes out there (Lalique never disappoints in this regard).

Tbh Eros was literally my first fragrance when I started my collection years ago, but yeah now to my nose it comes across as pretty juvenile and uninspiring and I rarely use it nowadays. BI is a pretty decent everyday freshie with good performance, though. Don't know why it's hated upon by some people.
