I was seriously considering getting a Steve Zissou Vostok but they're $220 including shipping. A bit much for something that was always hyped as a $100 watch. Just like Seiko 5.Maybe I'll get it anyway. I'm sure next year it'll be $300.
I really don't want another automatic with a date window though. Yet I love Life Aquatic and it's a good watch for the collection. Maybe I can find it cheaper somewhere.

And now it's only $150 on Amazon. Sold. And it's 39mm when this whole time I thought all Vostoks were at least 41mm. I've seen some videos on it now that make it seem both charming with flaws and not so great. I don't know if it's even worth $150.And I just noticed the Amazon one has a matte black dial that does not look like the ones on the official websites. But Amazon isn't ebay. There won't just be counterfeit watches on there. Maybe it's some new mass reissue. They have a dozen strap options.

Got a Casio WS1600H8AV for father's day. I really dig the tachometer-style graphics on top. Turns out it uses a module that belongs to a 2000's watch made specifically for soccer referees.Been eyeing this one for a couple months. This is my first Casio after decades. I guess it's "authentic", yet I've never seen such a thing on the vintage ones I've browsed. Also, I don't like the coin edge bezels after having bought one. And I can't deal with that strap overhang either. I'd have to remedy that.
