The Fragrance Flowchart for Beginners
>SOTD: ELDO La Fin Du Mondecomfy as fuck fall scent, the fact that Quentin Bisch can do stuff like this and still shits out one akigalabomb sloppa after the other makes me lk seethe (yeah i know his client request those but that makes it even worse)
>>18769353Good OP pic
>>18769359Whatever you're on about must be a USA thing. They put shit in your food, water, etc, that probably makes the majority of people smell somewhat funky. I live in Aus and literally almost never can smell anything untoward from Europeans, East Asians, Latinos and practically anyone else that isn't Indian or African.
>>18769321Notturno even on a blotter evaporates rather quickly when I compared it to the rest. Probably a good thing that it fades, because that strong chemical smell would likely be pretty offensive if it lasted. Also apparently looks like Meo released his first gourmand just recently, Amara Vita. Will try and get my nose on it and report back
>>18769382I live in straya and most wogs are trooned out I've noticed.
>>18769395Is that a melbum thing? Wogs, lebs, etc in Sydney are far from trooned out
Also speaking of wogs and lebs, i see heaps of them swarming those palermo dupeslop stores, and lamila stands you see popping up that sell arabshit"Yeah Cuz! Managed to pick this one up in the area for about $6-7 yallah to the boys in Bankstown 2200 brutha representI sprayed about 6-7 times and SHU BBY! Cuz you wouldn’t believe the compliments! I had all the gang as from the area frothing me cuz! Legit it was full hectic. I think I got like 6 or 7 compliments from this fit wog ganga at Mt Druit shopping centre. I was over the moon cuzHectic got me smelling full hectic cuz! I can’t even describe it. It’s like fresh and just pulls all the gangas in the area. The sillage is huge too cuz! Like 6-7 meters. Lasts a good 6-7 hours too cuz"
>>18769299The "core" of my collection is Dior and Frederic Malle, but there are some gems from other brands that rounds it out.
I'm wearing Cuir Cannage today and I whole heartedly believe the best fragrances get discontinued or reformulated. Everything in production today is inferior to their earlier formulations and to discontinued fragrances. Even the "it's still in good shape" and "current version is also good" reformulations don't match the originals. This is not an "IFRA-bad" ingredients rant. It's simple economics. Ingredients getting more expensive or become unavailable, poor marketing, bad timing, not mass appealing, poor sales, competition, and business decisions, can all lead to fragrances getting discontinued or reformulated.
>>18769332>>18769352Blacks smell the worst out of all races except jeets, what are you on about
>>18769386i found Sogni to be a pretty atypical gourmand with the rice note.
It's just too perfect. I see no reason to ever wear anything else. Maybe my journey is over.
Finally another genuine banger from them.
>>18769463absolutely ruined by the praline/vanillaslop note
>>18769373I've somehow never smelled a single ELDO fragance. There's the electrician one, someone like you, Ghost in the shell which has nothing to do with the anime, and the one that smells like cum and blood. It just always seemed like a fuckin meme house.
Thoughts on MYSLF L’Absolu Yves Saint Laurent for summer date nights? Looking for a clean, but masculine scent
just tried Megamare and it smells like sweat
>>18769472Generally speaking they do much more avant garde fragrances, and luckily enough most of them range from not bad to quite good. They’re definitely worth sampling, and their discovery set is arguably one of the best medium/small brand houses to dip your toe into the non mainstream waters.
I have these coming tomorrow. Thoughts>
>it's been long since I smelled Sauvage (edp) and similar profiles>the smell reset and it's good again>light fruity without plastic undertonesnice
>>18769533im curious to know the differences between GS EDP and Extrait. i own the extrait because i really like the creaminess of it and enjoy the performance, but im curious to see how it compares to the EDP
>SOTD: Caswell-Massey Number Six I love this stuff. Smells old. Still keeps up enough to smell unique too for modern times. A little like a melted lemon candy, that bergamot and amber play nicely but the rosemary ties it all down. Crazy to think I was sold on a fragrance by an advertisement rather than word of mouth but holy shit would you take a look at that? Being an autistic history geek doesn't help. I love this stuff.
SOTD Beach Hut
>>18769538I was ready to be dismissive of this until I saw it was a 2018 release. Never sniffed, but could be good. It’s at least plausible.
>>18769550Technically this frag was first formulated in 1772, (it's that old) but I'm not sure what could have happened to it up until now. I just know I like it and the people around me do. Apparently this was George Washington's favorite and gifted some to Lafayette. It's got decent projection, I spray around 6 times pulse points included. It reached across the table where we ate breakfast today.
>>18769556No, the original 1772 release was an EdC and is still produced separately from the one in your picture, which is an EdP. The one you have may be inspired by the original, but it’s not at all the same.
>>18769482Megamare is my biggest niche disappointmentLiterally a somewhat mass-pleasing calone overdose
>>18769564> Our Cologne version of Number Six differs in strength (fragrance concentration) and scent profile from the Eau de Parfum version. For the higher-strength,amber-infused, and most authentic edition of the 1772 recipe worn by George Washington, refer to our Number Six Eau de Parfum.Via the description of the EdC. Anytime I hear about Washington's favorite frag it's always the term "perfume" or "cologne" they use. I think they just mean fragrance more broadly rather than the exact terms, but Caswell-Massey says the EdP is the most authentic.
But also anon told me to put my tongue in her asshole or something like that and actually when I spread her cheeks she has a perfect pink smooth shaven hole that smelled good. I almost did it but you can't do that on the first date.
>>18769685If she has sex on the first date isn't she a whore anyway?
went to LV yesterday to try the 3 new Journey to China frags... Tea Storm was pretty nice, not an "Imagination killer" like I've heard it described but nice enough that I might get a decant. Moon Tale was decent just too feminine leaning, didn't care for Ink Mark, but I only gave it a real quick smell. when I was leaving, the sales associate sprayed a sample of Fantasmagory on my wrist and holy shit is that stuff fantastic. I'm not even a huge vanilla fan, but good lord I can't get that wonderful scent out of my head.
>>18769708What do you think of Afternoon Swim? What are your favorite LVs?
Is LV only in America or something?Never seen it in EU
>>18769709I love Afternoon Swim, people complain about the longevity, but I get 6+ hours on skin. my favorite 3 are Ombre Nomade, L'Immensite, and Symphony... Afternoon Swim and Pacific Chill are right up there too
>>18769723Thanks, I'll look into it.
>>18769714Better question is where have you been looking? They’re very high end, so the fragrances only show up in the most expensive retailers, and they do a similar thing like Chanel where their stuff almost never shows up on discounters.
i need a fragrance that gives me the experience of being a dog sitting on its blanket and licking its balls. any recs?
>>18769729Salty milk and pennies
>>18769731The incense on Incense Extreme reminding me of Portrait of a Lady for the first time ever.
Pheromone fragrances are bullshit but have any of you actually bought them despite that?

>>18769353Why no love for this? Even after 20 years, its still gorgeous
>>18769689No she's my gf now.>>18769848My aunt gifted me this because she read women liked it on men in some women's facebook group. Shit smells like ass and the bottle is an eye sore. Bless her, she wanted me to get a gf. I gave it to my best friend who can't stop getting bitches 24/7 and even he told me girls had the audacity to tell him it didn't smell good.
>>18769851>Shit smells like ass and the bottle is an eye sore.No way, thats bullshit. Interesting that your pal is puling chicks every day with it.I wore this when I visited my tailor a few mnths back. He loved it, and no he isnt a fag
Malaka, which one of you has sprayed Nautica Voyage all over the Athens airport terminal? The Men’s WC reeked and I smelled it again by the departure screens

hey, is it too gay to wear baccarat rouge 540 extrait as a man in his 20s?
>>18769912yes
>>18769912Is this the most overrated scent of all time? It just smells like a watered down one note sweetness to me
>>18769877What's wrong with it? It is like the least offensive fragrance ever
>>18769928When it came out it was legitimately something new. It just got copied to death and now it’s everywhere so even the original seems overhyped by comparison.
>>18769472It's a good house, they just have edgy marketing. One of the few very popular niche brands that are actually worth their pricesFat Electrician is really good too, despite the edgy name. Not hard to wear at all unless you really hate smoky vetiver
>>18769472>Ghost in the shell which has nothing to do with the anime,I thought it's supposed to smell like the synthetic skin of an android?
>>18769641Would a man in the 1700s really wear a eau de parfum and with amber? Sounds unusual
>>18769729Maybe Hyrax by Zoologist?
>>18769938>Would a man in the 1700s really wear a eau de parfum and with amber?Yes, why wouldn't they?
>>18769961This. The Middle Ages fucking stank.
>>18769963I hope you're baiting
>>18769463whats this a clone of?
>>18769912No but asking about it does disqualify you from being secure and confident enough to wear it
>>18769961>>18769938I thought amber was a relatively recent discovery? Like early 1900’s?
So what are your thoughts on H24 edp?
>>18769983i like it a lot, perfectly fine for cold(er) weather as well
>>18769912I'm 46 and I wear BR 540 all the time... wear what you like

>>18769857>your pal is puling chicks every day with itCan you read twin?
>>18769963they stank because they thought the plague was transmitted via water so they rarely bathed themselves. they doused themselves in perfume to mask the stench.
I have these coming today. Thoughts?
>>18770042imo those two Amouage Opus frags are meh considering their asking price (full disclosure: i only tested them at an airport once)
>>18770042Musc Ravageur is one of my favs, let us know about the rest
>>18770042love MR, was kinda disappointed by Ani for how often it comes up. I wanted to like RT, but it smelled too much like a spice market on me.
I can only get one of these. Which should I get and why
Depends on your budget and your current fragrance collection as in what is lacking and what season/occasion do you need it for?Oajan and Pegasus are great but for the price of one of those you could get both TdH and Prada L'Homme.
>>18770051>>18770055oops forgot to reply
>>18770055I am looking for a all year signature scent. I moved to a hot and humid country, but I am in places with aircon most of the day. I like them all somewhat equally. I just want to have one that I can wear every day without thinking much about it, so I'd be willing to spend a bit. I emptied a whole bottle of TdH and Prada l'homme each, but tested and loved the PDMs as well. Just wanted to find out what the public sentiment is.
>>18769932It’s ok but it’s so synthetic
>>18770051prada lhomme but personally i prefer the l'eau flanker
>>18770065in that case i'd say TdH > MFK > Prada L'Homme
I've tried TdH, Eau Givree and H24 so far.Which other Hermes frags are worth trying?
>>18770075I have Un Jardin de Monsieur Li and have tried Rocabar, can recommend both. uJdML is an interesting mineralic soapy freshie with a cool opening citrus. Very austere and fairly non-linear, it develops in an interesting way.
>>18770075all classic Hermes frags are very good>Eau d'Hermes>Equipage>Caleche>Rocabar>Bel Ami>Amazone>etc.their Colognes are also great>Eau d'Orange Verte>Eau de Citron Noir>Eau de Basilic Pourpre (my personal favorite)>Eau de Rhubarbe Ecarlate>etc.the Jardins are also worth sampling
This is so beautiful
>>18770051get some samples and decants and decide for yourself. what exactly are you looking for?
>>18770042Biggest thing I would say is be aware that MR is not an animalic frag. It’s basically a soft, powdery sweet vanilla frag. Anyone who compares the scent to sweat, body odor, or other generally ‘body’ scents is reviewing it based off the name alone and hasn’t actually sniffed it. >>18770051>>18770065As >>18770055 stated it’s very contextual, especially considering how wide the price range is between some of these. I haven’t smelled most of them, but would trust >>18770073 to be a fair summation. Don’t bother with the Creed and the PdM’s are meh.
>>18770075As long as you’re not looking for club bangers or gourmands, a lot of their collection is quite good. A lot of the Un Jardin line is enjoyable, with sur le Nil being my favorite. They have a lot of good old frags if you can enjoy a dated, old-man styled frag (Bel Ami, Equipage, Rocabar came off weak to me, but wasn’t bad). The only one I would warn you off from is Eau d’Hermes, if cumin smells like body odor to you (I recognize some people associate it with food, it smells like unwashed body to my nose) it’s a cumin bomb and smells terrible.
>>18769983I have all three and really like them all. Nothing else really smells that way, and all three are crisp and interesting. EdP is like a frozen moss.
>>18770051I have a bunch of these and wear TdHermes the most by far. The Eau Givree even more. Oajan is the most interesting I think because it's basically Ambre Nargile on steroids which is another Hermes.
>>18770087>The only one I would warn you off from is Eau d’Hermes>cumin bomb>smells terribledon't listen to this anon, Eau d'Hermes is great and (while it has a cumin note) it is definitely not just a cumin bomb and it smells great>SOTN: Hermes Eau d'Hermesnot a cumin bomb
cope harder pisschild
>>18770051I've only tried the ones in the bottom line, really like L'homme Intense end Pegasus, would go with Prada and Hermes for the price of a PdM. Pegasus is good but not that good
>>18770091Kek, to each their own, Anon. I direct you (meaning >>18770075 ) to >>18769325 and >>18769471 and recommend deciding based on your own nose. Some people love it, but I know for certain I’m not the only one who finds it quite unappealing. You get to decide for yourself.
Thoughts on Marc Antoine Barrois frags?i tried Ganymede (EDP and Extrait) as well as B653 and they're so odd they're kinda hard to describe, but somehow still very enjoyable to smell
What are some fragrances that will have the ladies going >AWOOOOGA!!!!
i only wear estee lauder and chanel, rest is for goyim
>>18770164Nautica Voyage
How do I prevent oud frags from smelling like horse pussy on my shirt? I noticed that its great on my skin but whenever i spray it on my shirt it turns heavily animalic, and I don’t want that.
/fa/'s thoughts on cinnamon fragrances?
>>18770196you don't
>>18770201Best with patchouli.
>>18770201>>18770206yes, Egoiste is one of the goats of all time
>>18770164Joop!(Dont listen to the butt fuckers here)
>>18770051TDH is boring, might as well wear blue crap. Didn't try anything else on your list but creed is overpriced crap, judging from aventus.
>>18770081Is that a summer amber?
Did anyone try Beaufort Tannere/Cape Wrath/Fathom? I got a tester of Rake and Ruin but it just smells like the insides of a balkan taxi, cigarette ash and old shitty car that was never cleaned. Maybe zoomers who grew up with vapes associate it with coal and all that, idk.>>18769533How does Chypre Palatine smell? I got a store with testers for it but idk if I should even bother.

What are the best Histoires de Parfums fragrances?
>>18770234Sounds very cool but too composed for my retard ass
>>18770196Has this happened with multiple fragrances? I only have western ouds and this has never happened.

You can never buy or sample another fragrance again. Are you:A) Disappointed in the state of your collection.B) Ok with your collection, but disappointed you can't try other fragrances.C) Completely happy and satisfied with your collection, you are ok never trying anything else.
>>18770254sooner or later i will buy a full bottle of Amouage Gold Man, apart from that i'm good
>>18770254I've been happy with my collection for at least a year or two, I don't really need much else
>>18770256Based, same. Smells really fucking excellent>SOTD Dior Higher Energy
blind bought thisdidn't find the initial sniff promising but it gets much better after an hourI usually wear versace dylan blue, this feels like a more refined, less loud progression of itbretty gud/10
>>18770261>Higher Energyhow is it?
>>18770254I’m happy with my collection right now but I would be disappointed if I was never able to try what comes out in the future, even if I couldn’t buy a full bottle of something great.
blind bought Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes Intense and it is actually really good
>>18770164The ladies don’t go awooga because of my perfumes, they go awooga because I’m cool and funky fresh
>>18770201Cinnamon + Vanilla has me smelling like a bakery and that is desirable
I only have 9 bottles but I already want to sell some because they were mostly impulse buys that don't necessarily match my vibe. What do you guys do in these situations? Just forget it in the back of the collection until you wanna use it again or sell used/give it away? They're good frags so I wouldn't throw them away>>18770307I told you it was good I shilled it last week with a purpose.
>>18770376i know most niggas on here don't have friends, but unless they're really worth something give them away to the people that matter to you
>>18770376If none of my friends want them, I offload my underused bottles on Mercari. I list them below the going rate since I'm doing it to declutter rather than earn a few more shekels.
>>18770376List your full collection I'll get them off your hands if I like them
>>18770254im happy with it. regardless of how much i have, i`ll always want more. im also getting at the stage that i want to make my own frags. not that i think i`ll make any masterpieces, but i think it`ll be a fun hobby rather than just buying frags
>>18770362
>>18770376ask my nephews if they want it, if they don't, put it on the back of my shelf

I need another fragrance for the autumn/winter season. I’m a Le Male Le Parfum enjoyer but want something else I can reach for, I used to use Stronger With You until it started to smell a bit too sickly for me. (Can’t use Dior Homme Intense or Givenchy stuff because it fucks my skin up).I recently tried samples of >Luna Rossa Black >Born in Roma Intense>Born in Roma Coral Fantasy>The One EDP (2026 reformulation) >La Nuit De L’Homme I really didn’t enjoy the reformulation of The One when I tried it, the original smelt way better. I really like Luna Rossa Black a lot but heard it projects like ass and for some it doesn’t last long (similar to La Nuit De L’Homme which was also really nice). Both of the Valentino ones are pleasant, I think I prefer Coral Fantasy over Intense though. I do have an Armani Code sample that I haven’t tried yet, and Stronger With You Powerfully, and the new I Will. Should I pull the trigger on Luna Rossa Black or get something else? I go on a lot of dates and nights out with friends so I’m not looking for a “safe for everyday use” type of fragrance but I do want something that projects at least decently and lasts 8 hours. So, good for an occasion or just any outing with people in general
>>18770520Forgot to add, I also tried Prada L’Homme Intense and found that one really interesting, so that’s another candidate that I think could fit well?
>>18770220Yes it's a daytime amber I think. Very light.
SOTN Gris Chanel Extrait. It's okay.
>>18770520>dates and nights out with friendsHave you tried any of the following?:>Portrait of a Lady>Oud Ispahan>Oud Rosewood>Purple Oud>Angel Men>Sundowner>Guilty Absolute
>>18770533I haven’t. I usually just stick with designer stuff somewhere in the $60-$120 ball park
What're the baddest sandalwood frags?Besides Egoiste and Tam Dao, that is.
>>18770534L’Homme Idéal EDP Guerlain and Stronger With You Powerfully are really nice, the bitches love cherryOr good old BdC EDP
>>18770545Santal Majuscule
>>18770553I might give stronger with you powerfully a try on my skin then since I’ve got a sample. Never smelt it before. Saying that, I just sprayed Armani Code EDP on arm and wew that’s some scent, I think I really like it? Gotta see how it sits on the dry down though. Not sure if it’s just me that likes it or if the ladies will too this autumn/winter
Does anyone know what fragrance / notes do they use in casino/ hotel lobbies / restaurants? It's kind of green, a bit camphoric almost like a spa
>>18770553>>18770555Just adding in, I reckon give Stronger with you Absolutely a try. My favourite of the lineup

I love dior homme intense, but is that a basic bitch fragrance? are there others out there doing a similar thing but better?
>>18770736What do you like about it specifically? The iris? Just click on the iris note in fragrantica and look at others
>>18770734I haven’t checked myself but I’ve heard Absolutely and Powerfully are up there at the top in the tiers of SWY
>>18770741bro do you think i know what iris smells like? the shit just smells good in general and i never know from lists on fragantica whats actually worth my time
>>18770756Not trying to gatekeep but you really don’t need to worry about being a basic bitch if you don’t know what iris is at this point
>>18770736prada lhomme intense is in the same ballpark but you should just wear what you think smells good instead of caring about dumb shit like being a "basic bitch"
>>18770756lmao ok well start exploring then! You can click on the profile of DHI and see what others think smells "similar" to it. Then you can buy 2ml samples or try those out for free in stores and let your nose decide which you like the most and which feels "off", your nose will get better at smelling different notes with time.
Just sampled this, smells great :)Not sure if I want a full bottle I already have many bottles...
>>18770763can you wear it during summer? been curious about trying it desu
most overrated niche brand and why is it this bullshit?
>>18770773Probably them, yeah. They make a few decent frags, but I've never been remotely interested in buying one. Especially when you're giving Estée Lauder like $4/ml.
Freezing outside? Still sticking with my freshies <3
>>18770793i barely want to wear freshies in summer, give me something rich strong and dark any day
How does Guerlain Vetiver parfum compare to the original EdT?
>>18770798Same. I've never found a single interesting freshie.
>>18770798>>18770803Same here. I still keep a bottle of Luna Rossa Carbon around though. It’s inoffensive. Sometimes it’s better not to stand out.
>>18770805It's not really about standing out as much as I simply want to wear something that I'm actually happy to catch whiffs of throughout the day

I got a bottle of Chanel No 19 Cologne. It starts familiar and dated but wearable, green, powdery, elegant and feminine. I legit couldn't tell you the notes off the top of my head, it's like one scent to my nose. It becomes mossier, muskier, and masculine as it settles. Maybe that's from the vintage leather note. It's honestly great from top to bottom but the transition from feminine to masculine is noteworthy. I think the cologne was the right call for me because it is a bit too elegant for my casual attire but in this concentration it's very light and wispy. Looking forward to wearing it more.
I was gifted a bottle of Stronger With You Absolutely. What do we think of it?
>>18770904We think you are a faggot
My Tom Ford came in and it’s authentic. I gambled again…
>>18770915
>>18770867I mainly just use an aftershave moisturiser. Either Chanel AHS aftershave cream, or Dior Homme aftershave. Feels good, man
>>18770921$83 after fees and tax. Has a gray market price of $150. I’m giddy.
>>18770901Is that a vintage or discontinued No. 19? Couldn't find any info about it online or on Chanel's websitet. picrel
>>18770904The best one of that line, it's a classy kind of sweetness

>>18770938Based, I just got a bottle of AdG Elixir.
>>18770936>Is that a vintage or discontinued No. 19?Yes. I wanted a vintage but didn't find easy and reliable information on how to date the bottles so I went with the cologne which has long been discontinued. It is a true cologne, only lasts a couple hours. I have a No. 5 cologne arriving as well.
>>18770939Mercari.
This is a vanilla bomb, wtfThe musk and tropical fruits are nice but then it gets ruined by vanilla in the drydown. Any other frags with the same vibe? I just want an everyday freshie that’s not citrus.

SOTD Al-Rehab Dakar. I got a compliment from my mom. She said I smell nice.
>mfw I found out Indians wear Dylan BlueI fucking hate this meme. I started to fall in love with the barbershop/shaving cream smell why I tested it for the first time. Now Indians ruin everything. I wish there's a similar frag like Dylan Blue. I don't mind wearing Arab clones.
Redpill me on Kayali. Is it a good brand?

>>18771026Good morning sir
>>18771024It's good but their fragrances and aesthetic are marketed to foids

>>18771014Why, are fragrances carcinogens?
>>18771027Thank you Sir! How are you Sir
>>18771014I wear vintage fragrances from when they intentionally put the carcinogens in and I regret to inform I am still alive. I never spray my neck, just my arms and clothes.
>>18771040Wear your freshies year round, nobody cares. Most people have the capacity to wear the right fragrance in the right weather, you haven't discovered anything new because you live in Jamaica.
>>18771024Mid relative to the price range. Still worth trying. Buy a sample set at Sephora for $25 if you’re interested. Rock Sugar and Maui are my favorites, but I don’t love them enough to pay retail and I have higher priority frags on my wishlist.

>tried 24 testers in 2 stores today>all nothing special>expensive sample>meh>cheap classic sample>badWould be cool if these jews made one single (1) good smell in 100 years. There is always something not quite right, or worthy of buying.
How long does cologne last/stay potent? Do I have to use the whole bottle in a year or some shit? I had a bottle of jpg used half-ish hadn’t touched it in 7-8 months and now it seems kind of weak or airy so to speak? Is this common
>>18771140"Incomplete perfumery"
>>18771174keep your fragrances in a dark, cool place away from sunlight and heat like a closet or the box it came in and they will last for several years. the only caveat is fresher fragrances tend to go sour sooner but they can still last for a long time following this advice
I got a mini splash of Missoni Parfum (the green one) for like $1. Its scent profile lies somewhere in between blue showergel and fresh fougere, in other words it's the most "default man" perfume I've yet encountered. This doesn't mean it's bad, I can't find any faults in the scent quality or performance, but it's just very standard.
>>18771160Lapidus Pour Hommeyou are welcome
>>18771205lmao
I sprayed adg profondo 10 times on my t-shirt 1 hour ago and can barely smell it on myself now.Few days ago I sprayed Althair 3-4 times and could smell it on me the whole day pretty much. How does performance and number of sprays even work?? Or is it just nose blindness?
>>18771208Some of it is nose-blindness. Certain chemicals, like ISO-E Super, make people go anosmic very quickly.Another part of it is the aromachemicals being used. Certain molecules are lighter and dissipate more quickly. Citruses, for example, never last, while some leather notes last for days. A fragrance that is composed of those lighter weight molecules will not last as long.
>>18771215So which summer freshies actually last and project?I know the orto parisi ones do but I didn't really like how they smelled sadlyMaybe I'll try hacivat
>>18771218Naxos
Naxos is fucking mid I don’t know how you guys like itIt’s fucking disgusting I would rather wear Libre
>>18771130it literally smells like you smeared honey on your skin and some nutsif you like that go for itnot my style though
MYSLF literally smells like pic relatedidk why it's so hyped
Should I snag Carven Homme or Carven L'Eau Intense? They both go for decent prices.
>>18771255It literally smells like a spanish baby cologne I used when I was in 5th grade (almost all Neroli-forward frags for me)
>>18771131You won’t, basically anywhere. Chanel doesn’t make samples of their own stuff, and they chase down and cease/desist or sue people that try and decant their stuff. On top of that, physical bottles of the original Egoiste are only available at Chanel fragrance boutiques, unlike stuff like BdC or Platinum Egoiste. So in short, you either gotta drive to a dedicated Chanel fragrance boutique, or blind buy it online. I will say, it’s a fantastic fragrance. Pleasantly musky rose, cinnamon, very mild tobacco. It’s incredibly well done. >>18771167Well now that you’ve solved fragrances for yourself we’ll all be happy to never see you post again. Goodbye and good riddance. >>18771194Anon, you posted this like a thread or two ago and I ignored you then, but the fact that you’re posting it again I guess I’ll give you the bite. The bottle isn’t green. It’s not even close. It’s brown fren. >>18771255Anon, you dumb as hell. They smell nothing like cinnamon, I would LOOOVE if they did, but they do not.
anything worth trying from Lorenzo Pazzaglia?
>>18771322Welp, I'm a lot more colorblind than I thought then.

SOTN
Should I get 1ml samples so I can try the most amount of frags or is that too little
>>18771362But you'd buy something American instead, that is designed to give you gay aids?At least with Chinese stuff you are only getting some trace heavy metals, instead of hormone disrupting troon chemicals.
>>187713731ml is good for several wears, definitely enough to get an idea
>>18771322nah I think I'll keep bitching about gay water if it makes you upset>SOTD 10 sprays of Kouros on a homeless man, then walking away
I’m looking for opinions on MB Explorer Platinum and Gucci Guilty Absolute. I have MB Explorer and Gucci Guilty Black and like them both. I’m pretty basic and generally go for cheaper frags. My current lineup includes the 2 mentioned and Cool Blue, Insurection II, Sauvage, and EN Sport.
>>18771415Now the homeless dude smells even worse
>>18769983I have a bottle of the EDTIt's a like but maybe not a love. The weird synthetic feel is sometimes too much
>>18771322>On top of that, physical bottles of the original Egoiste are only available at Chanel fragrance boutiquesHere in EU it is different and you can often run into testers of Egoiste at the local Sephora or whateverSame with other old Chanels, I have seen testers of Antaeus and Pour Monsieur in IRL stores frequently
>>18771426true, but it might help him, as a boost of confidence>I might be a piss stained unwashed hobo>but at least I'm not wearing "classic powerhouse aromatic fougeres"
>>18771431In Australia they don't have OG Egoiste even in the official Chanel boutiques. Totally nonexistent here
I don't get the hate for "masstige"It's just a good option for people who want something that smells more refined and expensive than sephoraslop but don't care for very unusual scent profilesFind me something with the exact same smell as Naxos, Grand Soir, Babycat, Basso, Gris Charnel, Layton, Ombre Nomade... for a fraction of the price; you can't. And whoever says clones smell the same is a fucking noselet, I have tried many clones and all of them pale in comparison to what they're imitating
>>18771435I hear the distribution of Hermes is also different outside of EU. Here they're in every fragrance store, I've even seen TdH in a pharmacy even.
>>18771438>Naxos Bogart pour home>LaytonLalique white in blackJust saved you 500$ anon

>>18771418Guilty Absolute is great, light synthetic leather on some dry patchouli, very woody, very masculine. I'm not familiar with anything else you mentioned.
>>18771431>>18771444>HermesSpeaking only for the USA, but yes, Hermes is basically only available in the highest end retailers, and even then the selection is somewhat limited. I have to assume it’s because we don’t have as much background and history with fragrances like they do in the EU, but who can really say.
>>18771486>Speaking only for the USA>we don’t have as much background and history with fragrances like they do in the EUYou should learn about the history of perfumery. The US is probably the most influential in modern perfume history second only to France.
>>18771444Actually Hermes is pretty widely available in Aus. You can find it stocked at major retailers, department stores and even chemists (at least stuff like H24 and TdH).
>>18771496Approximately where in time do you delineate modern perfume history and ‘not modern’ perfume history?
>>18771496Indeed, who could forget household names such as Eau de McDonald's, Nascar pour homme, and Old Spice. A huge influence
>>18771438A combination of poorfags who can only afford arab clones or just classic 4chan hating on popular stuff
How has your nose and tastes changed over time?i remember trying Cuoium for the first time and it felt like a kick in the face. Now i`m wearing it years later and i find it quite smooth and almost inoffensive.
>>18771501Coco Chanel is often credited with inventing the modern perfume with Chanel No. 5. Estee Lauder popularized perfumes in the US with Youth Dew.
>>18771438>I don't get the hate for "masstige"A collective case of oppositional defiant disorder
>>18771438What are the best masstige frags?I already have Naxos on my "to try" list. I love Grand Soir as well.

when will my never-ending desire to sniff new things go away
>>18771518The other ones I mentioned are goodFrom LV I like Ambre Levant a lot, it's way too expensive but unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything as good at a lower priceYSL 6 Saint Sulpice is a really nice labdanumI liked Vodka on the Rocks as the most refined take on the Fierce DNA I've ever smelled (way better than Percival imo) but I think it's discontinued, not sureCreed VIW remains one of the best summer frags imo but the performance is unjustifiable at that price point

>>18771438my hate is mostly twoards PdM. idk, im just not blown away by their frags, a lot of them i find lame or uninspired and i find the price wildly unjustified
>>18771618you can find them all for 200$ per 125ml though... nobody pays the full price
>>18771625>200 bucksnta but yes, that is wildly unjustified
>>18770081I just got a sample. It's very interesting, well-blended, the immortelle especially is used well. Comes off a bit more animalic on skin, which I appreciate. I'd be curious to try more from them, maybe VH next.
I smelled a bunch of ORTO PARISI frags and boy oh boy are they ass. Brutus - Orto Parisi: A dull earthy patchouli backed by a touch of chocolate. It's completely inoffensive and boring. As with all Orto Parisi scents, it smells like clay. like stucco. Risvelium - Orto Parisi: Absolutely vile shit. First time I smelled it I had to say "oh my god what the fuck" out loud. Not 'citrus' or 'tropical'. The notes on fragrantica do not explain the ratio. it's 35% grapefruit 60% MUSK and 5% other shit. That musk with the grapefruit is fucking vile. One of the only decants I threw straight in the trash.Terroni - Orto Parisi: It's fine, it's nice during the opening where the top notes play with the heart notes, but as with all OP scents, it all slopes back down to the clay/stucco smell. In this case the clay smell has a bit more vanillaBoccanera - Orto Parisi: Gourmand clay. It's Terroni with chocolate creme mixed in. God I fucking hate Risvelium.
>>18771629For the summer freshies? Sure. For Althair, Layton, Herod, Oajan, Pegasus etc? Nah.
>>18771632Nasomatto and Orto Parisi has the same origin, very tryhard brands. The former has a special edition bottle with a literal tip of a penis design (Sadonaso). That's all you need to know.
>>18771632Thoughts on Megamare?
>>18771632All these artsy niche brands are shit. The only really good one is Tauer and even then not all of his stuff is good (Phtaloblue sucks ass). The finall redpill is that masstige and luxury niche is better than most avant-garde or artisan brands.
>>18771647Have not had a chance to try that yet. I tried Bergamusk and was 'whelmed'; it a nice down the middle well balanced bergamot and musk. I don't understand why people online compliment it so highly. Perhaps they're just surprised that a realistic bergamot can have such longevity. It's more impressive than interesting. I did not purchase it.
