I need to seriously consider to start decluttering...
>>18784555not really. thats why people spend retarded amounts of money on vintage bottles
>>18784571good taste anon
>>18784571Don’t need to declutter if it’s not clutter. Just gotta keep it organized. Besides, still only double digits.
>>18784571How's Torino21?
>>18784571do you know which batch you have for fierce? i still have my 2008 bottle but ive heard the modern version has absolutely gutted the way it smells
>3 for high temperatures>3 for moderate temperatures>3 for low temperaturesGo!
>>18784573Thanks.>>18784574The thing is there are around two dozen fragrances in there that no longer smell appealing to me (or at worst dislike). I mostly blind buy so that's the main reason I start having regrets with a few of them after a while.>>18784577Good naturally smelling summer freshie with a decent projection and above average longevity. Sparkling lemonade + invigorating minty greenery. One of my favourites for hot weather.>>18784578Batch is NF21 (production year 2023). Never smelled the older formulations but I like the current one the way it is.
>>18784587>Batch is NF21 (production year 2023). Never smelled the older formulations but I like the current one the way it is.no worries, thanks for the response
Should I buy Naxos for fall/winter? It smells so fucking good
>>18784579I only have one summer fragrance (CdG Serpentine) because I don't like freshies
Does Notino sell counterfeits sometimes?
>>18784531Gourmands on women are sexy, these anons are trying to sabotage you because you are a woman
What's your fave buttery, creamy orris frag? Black Tie, Sticky Fingers, Iris Malikhan, L'Attesa, or what else? >>18784596The only real negative is the price.
Anyone smell the new Dune Pour Homme? I saw on Dior's website all of the new rereleases have only 1/5 'intensity', for whatever that's worth.
what new bottles have you guys gotten in the latest looting and ransacking?
Blind bought this. Needed Halloween cologne
>>18784675Pretty solid choice. I often wear Tonnerre on Halloween, but that’s not bad either. Rake & Ruin is relatively similar and equally good.
>>18784676Based I got those as samples
whats a good place to get samples? pref cheap....i cba to spend more money on shipping than sampling
>>18784680Downsides to Tonnerre is its it’s incredibly one-note after the first ~15 minutes, and it’s all birch tar firepit smoke. A lot of people ignore that there is in fact a distinct aquatic top note, but it’s relatively short lived and it’s smoke all the way down from there. Still interesting to me how prominent it is at the top though. It’s a novelty fragrance, not much wearability outside very specific circumstances. T-Rex has similar bombastic performance but has more evolution and diverse notes. Iron Duke and Acrasia are some of their other noteworthy releases, Iron Duke being fantastic and Acrasia quite good. Some people enjoy Fathom V but it’s not to my taste, too stemmy green. Coeur de Noir is… interesting… more wearable than Vi Et Armis, which makes me gag, but it’s somewhat novelty as well. Absent Presence is too weak and nothing noteworthy scent wise. Lignum Vitae isn’t bad, but gourmands aren’t their wheelhouse. And their most recent releases in the clear bottles haven’t wowed me. Haven’t tried Sirenide yet, though.
>>18784675>>18784676>>18784686Also also, I JUST realized they finally released the fifth frag of their third set. >Sunken TobaccoFrankly, sounds interesting. Looking forward to sampling.
What frags do you guys wear for special occasions?
>>18784692i don't experience special occasions anymore
>>18784692Tabac Exquis. Bought the 30 ml bottle like 5 years ago and it's probably gonna last another 5. It feels too precious to be worn just whenever. To me this is pure heavenly magic in a bottle. I don't even wear it on dates. It's too good for such pedestrian affairs. If it's not a suit-wearing occasion I don't spray it.
>18784692Tell us your answer to your own question, why you wear that, and generally put in a little bit of effort beyond your standard bot post.
Where do I spray and how many sprays if my goal is to smell my own fragrance throughout the day without taxing my olfactory system and going nose blind?
>>18784717spray on deez nuttz nigga

>>18784717Back of neck
>>18784599
Can you give me recommendations, based on what I like and don't like?I absolutely HATE shit like "Dior Homme" because it smells too flowery or too powdery (like some girly makeup box). The ONLY cologne that smelled somewhat flowery / powdery I liked was VCA Midnight in Paris.I tried Club de nuit limited edition and terre d'hermes, and the drydown of both smell almost identical, and quite frankly, I don't like it too much either. Supposedly aventus creed is very similar.I'm not too impressed by bleu de channel, esp not for that price. What I really like is stuff like the regular spicebomb, burberry brit, pure havanne (RIP), mugler pure malt, cool water, carolina herrera prive, D&G The one parfum, coeur du desert. Also please nothing with tonka bean, I can't smell that stuff anymore.
>>18784625I have, yeah, it's good but somewhat redundant if you have the OG DpH. For what it's worth I've had two full wears of the new Jules and it lasted a good 8hrs or so on skin.
>>18784695Same. Life has devolved into the same slightly varied monotonous grind. I wear "special occasion" frags on a normal weekday just to feel something different.
>>18784717Back of your head/neck, trust me.And also copious amounts on your balls
>>18784790Eaz. Burberry London is a free space. If you can get to a Dior boutique, try and get your nose on Vanilla Diorama before they discontinue that mf
La Nuit de l'homme worth getting again? I read the new batches have better performance after all the dogshit performance from reformulations after around 2015/2016.
A white-trash looking cashier chick complimented by Le Sel D'issey. Have I won the game?
>>18784814my*
>>18784814Yes. Now it’s time to stop playing.
Is there a ombre nomade dupe that's not shit?
>>18784814She is your future wife. Stop posting and go get your trailer park wife immediately. God speed, brother.SOTD Amouage Royal Tobacco
>>18784814Mountain Dew and Twinkies trailer trash or Red Bull and meth trailer trash?
>>18784717I do wrists, inner elbows, and shirt.
>>18784625The review ratings also show the performance very poor for the entire collection. It leads me to think it was intentional. They focused on getting the smell as close as possible to get a good impression from influencers. You can just imagine the dramatic reactions when they say it's close to the original, and the hyperbolic thumbnails. They also use the intensity rating as a tier system. The highest intensity for their most expensive "esprit" and the new Dioriginals as their cheapest range.
>>18784834i have a new bottles of the Kurky version of Jules and the performance is definitely not 'very poor'
>frags that women think are sexy on a man>try them, don't really like their profilesucks, but to be honest, if you are not Chad without a smell, you won't be with it either
>>18784874To me it's about honesty. It's not that a frag will automagically make you chad, it should amplify you and match your tone. Pulling it off is more about it fitting your personality and showing more about who you already are and not trying to put someone else over you fragrance-wise. Maybe I'm getting too deep into this but it's how it works for me
>>18784874I have found the perfect balance of attractiveness and actual quality and it's called L'Air du Désert Marocain. Not boring but not too weird to normalfag noses.
Lets put this Naxos debate to rest once and for allhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnHfuoHUM8o
>>18784892I agree with him, I don't get much honey or tobacco in Naxos, the opening is citrus, vanilla, cashmeran and lavender and it dries down into something resembling an ambery vanillaI don't feel like it's particularly unique though, even though it's the kind of scent you can truly wear anywhere and everywher except maybe 35°C summer days
>>18784717Your Lymph Nodes
>>18784874The women don’t think I’m sexy because of my cologne, they think I’m sexy because I’m cool and funky fresh
>>18784892I think he's right about it being more of a spring scent rather than a winter one. I did a fresh spray of my decant on my arm and yes I don't smell tabacco at all.
>>18784878something like thatIt's a bit like indians dressing and mimicking "old money", they are still jeets. I had a business meet, there was a short fat brown man wearing SWY intense, my thoughts were "just something a guy like you would wear". You "could" wear aromatic fougeres, beastmode ambroxan bombs and sweet gourmands whatever, but better have something to back it up, otherwise you are just another smelly chud.sotd: ferragamo f black before walking into a creed boutique (then 360 and walk away)
>>18784910swy smells better than your sotd
sotd BDC EDP
Should I blind buy Kouros? My CVS is selling it for like $66 and I’m comfortable if that ends up being a loss.It keeps getting memed here but what I’m most concerned about is its uniqueness and whether or not there have been other takes on the style
>>18784878>>18784910>match your toneHow do you figure out what kind of fragrances match you though?I tend to like heavy ambery or gourmand stuff but what kind of "tone" does that evoke as opposed to, say, light airy citrus frags or modern woody ambroxans or anything else?
for me its Les Jeux Sont Faits
>>18784921Modern Kouros is a lot more soapy than the vintage and loses a lot of that real funk. It's good and a lot more wearable but if I were you I would get modern Antaeus which is just as good if not better than vintage Antaeus.
>>18784964game over for you indeed
>>18784692Chypre Palatin, Chanel Le Lion, Ambre Russe.
What am I in for?
>>18784982A really nice frag but a tad overpriced
>>18784982Best of Memo's leather line. Russian Leather is nice too if you wanna smell like a winter coniferous forest.
>>18784982elegant night time cardamon, amber, vanilla fragrance for fall / winter. Don't wear shorts and a t shirt while wearing this.
>>18784982expect ebony queens all over you
>>18784842Doesn't matter, at the moment the consensus is that the sillage is trash and worse than the original. It could change once more people try it and review it but you're an outlier right now.
>>18784874I have triangulated my crush's favorite styleof fragrance based on her compliments. She likes sweet and fresh woody masculine scents. They are ok but not always my favorite, I refuse to wear the ones that turn into that linear sweet amber. Surprisingly she likes some of my vintage stuff and she does like one of my favorites which is nice. Don't forget to not to underspray or overspray when trying to make the ladies happy. You want to make sure they smell you but also you don't want to overwhelm them. Wish you all fun scent experiences if you want to have fun with the ladies.
>>18784946It's all made up. A fragrance depends on the nose not the wearer. You might think you smell like a scholarly gentleman but to someone's nose you could smell like an alcoholic uncle or a chemical spill. Just wear something that smells good to you and hopefully you will find someone that also enjoys it. Smell is hardwired and it's nearly impossible to change someone's taste. You just have to find common ground.
>>18785058if you wore layton or naxos she wouldn't be your crush, she would be your gf
>>18784964How similar it is to HdP 1740?
>>18785072We're exclusive but I still like to call her my crush. I avoid fragrances like the ones you mentioned which is probably why she enjoys calling me "daddy". Last time I came inside her I was wearing Ungaro pour L'homme aftershave. She complimented it and so did our mutual female friend.
>>18785077Kek based, I'm mostly bantering don't worry. While I like sweet smells myself I like the darker more mature ones too.I just know some people here get a bit uppity when you mention anything sweet and I like to mess with them.
>>18784966>Antaeus Hm, I am a whore for roses. I've decided I will listen to your advice. Thank you anon.
>>18785077Do you remember if the aftershave was Ungaro pour L’Homme I, II, or III?
Guys, I just found out Lattafa also made soap based on their frags and they are cheap.
What are some frags that smell like floor cleaner? In a good way of course.
>>18784900>he's not crescent freshngmi
>>18784921yes>>18784966both of them are great
>>18785099I only have the first. It's one of my favorite fragrances. The aftershave starts very different from the EDT. Before settling on the woodiness it's very stinky and indolic. Smells like my ex's stinky pussy.
>>18785050>consensusamong people who never smelled this version? sure thingthe performance of nu-Jules is perfectly fine
>>18785121Anything with lavender for me lol
>>18785121All classic citrus aromatic type of fragrances.
Give me your best lavender fragrances of all time.
>>18785121Leau d’Issey comes off like that to me someone
>>18785121Mefisto Gentiluomo
>>18785179Bogue MEM
>>18785179If it's lavender you want you can't get better than this.
>>18785084the rose isnt that prominent. this is more of a leather chypre but still a great fragrance
Honestly is there a better frag than LADDM? I tried hundreds of them but none are as perfect
>>18785121NYI
>>18785194i like ACDD even more desu
>>18785198They're so similar I lump them together, but yeah to me LADDM/ACDD is unbeatable, I keep sampling stuff but nothing is on that level
>>18785084if you want an amazing prominent rose classic males powerhouse from the 80's get a bottle of Azzaro Acteur
>>18785204I’m gonna be honest, I had no idea Azzaro had pedigree like that. I really thought they were a brand that came up in the last 20 years.>>18785191>not prominentSad but I will still purchase
>>18785213>not prominentimo the rose is very much there in my new(er) batch bottleyou will definitely like it so buy it (along with Kouros which is also a GOATed frag)
>>18785190Lavender powerhouse. The closest point of comparison was Lavender extreme by Tom Ford, it's been discontinued for a while and it's generally more unisex and boring. If someone wants easy excellent Lavender I either let them smell this or the clean and incredible Bogart Pour Homme
>excellent>lavenderchoose one
we're iris chads here
>>18785227Rose > Iris But I have been growing fonder of that distinct powdery aspect it provides each passing day>>18785217I am once again excited to purchase this fragrance, what a rollercoaster. If you’re in the US do you know where I can buy it cheaper or do I just have to bite the bullet and eat the Chanel tax
I get zero rose in Antaeus
Who are your favorite perfumers?
>>18785227>>18785229im a rose and iris chad
>>18785231Pierre Bourdon>>18785229i'm in EUdunno, maybe buy at bigger airports>>18785232based
>>18785213Don’t forget their most iconic fragrance, Azzaro pour Homme. 1978
>>18785229Basically no option except biting the bullet. Chanel is VERY adept at shutting down discounters of their products.

SOTD SundownerSticky, sweet, dense, resinous, one of the best gourmands there is. Redundant if you have one of the desert series though
>>18785254>Redundant if you have one of the desert series thoughi disagree>t. owner of both LADDM and Sundowner
Man Encre Noire is really nice
>>18785256I find the tauerade drydown pretty similar to ACDD even though it's noticeably sweeterWhich other Tauers should I try by the way? I found LADAS underwhelming, Phtaloblue was shit, Lonestar was ok, LADDM/ACDD are great
>>18785259Incense RoséGolestanL'OudhL’Air du Jardin Caché (if you like aldehydes in your frags)
>>18785261Thanks
>>18785259>>18785261Most agree Phtalo is fucking weird. It’s like a blue but the water is chlorine. Second Incense Rose, it’s quite fantastic. LADAS usually gets a fair bit of talk, but I personally don’t care for it. Powdery green is rather unique tho.
is it acceptable to wear a "night perfume" in an office setting?
>>18785295Ask a better question and tell us what you plan on wearing instead of forcing us to give our subjective opinions on what we consider a night perfume to be
>>18785286Phtaloblue was downright offensive to me. Not as in it stunk, the scent itself was just a weird chlorine-celery-iso E concoction, but it actually registered to my nose as astringent and irritating>LADASIsn't it an inferior version of Reflection Man?
>>18785296Oftentimes I hear you people suggest frags but when I look them up on fragrantica users consider them "special" occasion/date perfumes but I'm trying to figure out which ones I could wear in an office setting on a daily base. Like what notes do I need to avoid in day times?
>>18785300Are you fucking dense. Answer what I asked you before you tell me this useless bullshit I didn’t ask about. What are you planning on wearing.
>>18785167You can say whatever you want, but both Dior themselves and the people reviewing the new release rate the performance as low. You don't have to agree with the consensus, I don't agree with the consensus on some of my fragrances. It's not a crime to be outside the norm, but it doesn't make you right either.
>>18785194For my tastes there are countless better fragrances than LADDM but it does have a really good balance of uniqueness, versatility, mass appeal, and performance that is hard to beat. Classics like Fahrenheit, Kouros, PoaL, and Guilty Absolute are the things it competes with which is already high praise. The only reason I don't like it is because the ambery base gets too sweet for me. It's a great fragrance but I have countless others I rather wear even if they are not as versatile.
>>18785231By the numbers it's not even close but Francois Demachy rules my collection. I was thinking recently how, not to undersell his skill, but he was the perfumer that best understood how to leverage the business and the market to work within their limits and make the best product you can. He accepted the rules of the game and made amazing fragrances. He wasn't rebellious, he was like a salaryman making everything the best it can be. My favorite perfumer in how I agree with almost everything he says is Maurice Roucel. The perfumer which I think has the most raw talent is Dominique Ropion. The perfumers that paint the clearest places in my mind are Andy Tauer and Bertrand Duchaufour.
>>18785231Sonia Constant and Delphine Jelk
>>18785300you can literally wear whatever you want. the only thing about office frags is that they typically shouldnt be too strong but that's about it. at the end of the day>it's only smells
>>18785261Those are all good. I bought Golestan for my sister, it's very feminine. Jardin Cache was very intense close up but in the air it's very nice and a modern interpretation of vintage fragrances. It smells great on my mom.
>>18785295Yeah, just don't overspray.
>>18785298Never heard anyone make that comparison, but I don’t know. Never tried RM.
last year I got recommended Cool water and liked it what would be a good next step that lasts longer?
What is your fav rose-oud?
>>18785406first one i ever got was ADP's Oud & Spice, but i always liked Oud Satin Mood, though i never got around to getting it. i also liking Oud Ispahan. same thing with the Frederic Malle oud line, but i wouldnt spend that much for a frag recently i was gifted Turath from Spirit of Dubai and although there's rose, it's quite fruity.
>>18785406Oud Maximus
>>18785406arr smerr same
>>18785300youre taking fragrances way too seriously. the smell itself doesn't matter, only how you wear it.

Just tried Reflection Man and ACDD, they're pretty good but I expected more...

>>18785406I'm white.
Need frag recs for swimming and beach use.Own some Vetiver Jacmel and applied some going to the beach, it was nice jumping into the water and having the fragrance still stuck to my skin. I was catching nice wafts while laying on the sand as I heated up.Want some recs that would maximize this vibe of calm and relaxation. The Vetiver is a bit too Rooty for the situation despite having a calming effect. Ideally I would like a Mukhallat (Attar Mixture) of Orange, Vetiver and Ambergris, but I haven't been able to find anything unfortunately. The more natural/artisanal the better. Already tried:>Ambre Supreme; too thick and dislike amber for the situation. >Escale en Indonesie; it's good but fleeting, needs more woody notes. >Escsle en Haiti; Great but no marine component.
>>18785494i would have dropped some recs but then i saw the imbecile on the pic
>>18785485>Iris>Jasmine>PatchouliIn a world were oakmoss is unrestricted I would go with that instead of patchouli. Oakmoss has already been deleted. Iris and jasmine seem to be too useful but patchouli and vetiver are ubiquitous. Violet should have been rose, it's much more common.
>>18785496spot on, didn't even read
>>18785485patchouli vetiver lavender maybe oakmoss
>>18785485Iris, Vanilla and Vetiver

I don't know what's happening to me bros I just want to buy a bunch of frags that I already tried in the dozen decants I've ordered and liked. I already have a good collection, went through 10-12 bottles that I enjoy why the FUCK do I need more? I want MORE I want to smell like the scents I like ALWAYS>>18785513I think this is the right answer for me too. I was on the fence about Iris instead of lavender but I've yet to meet a lavender fragrance on the same level of my favorite iris.>>18785514>>18785520Retard>>18785518Not to defend the retard but I feel like most people either hate or love Oud, so I'd say there's an acquired taste there that comes from experience.
>>18785496It's a joke pic dude, lighten up.
>>18785525Same, I keep saying I'll stop after this last time. Then I buy more samples, then I buy more bottles from the samples I loved the most and it never ends...
good to be back, bros>sotd: Hermes Bel Ami Vetiverplease don't buy this fragrance, it's too good and I need to have it all for myself
How come the peach in Fleur du Mal is so juicy?I read somewhere that it's likely an overdose of gamma-undecalactone, but I don't find the slightest bit of that same juicy quality in Mitsouko.
>>18785551If anything you said is true>Overdose>Not overdose>WhyAreTheseDifferent.surprisedpikachuface
What's something you spray on that makes you a proper madman. Like completely fucking mental for some reason
I have a frag rotation that consists of only 3 frags. One for the warmer half of the year, one for the colder half, and one I use year-round for a bit of variety. Do you guys think that's too few?
>>18785594for a normal person, nofor a normal /frag/ connoisseur (autist), yesyou need at least [insert random big number here] to be taken seriously around here
>>18785594Doesn't matter what we think, do you want another frag?
>>187855943 is a very very reasonable rotation. You could consider 4 as a “gold standard” so you have one for either A) all seasons or B) warm, cold, daily, special occasionFor most people 4 might be overkill still
>>18785593I dunno what you mean but when I sniff my gf’s pits I turn into a monkey.I reckon if you wore something like picrel you’d get some leg room on public transport if that’s more what you meant.
>>18785594That's too many. There's nothing stopping you from wearing one year round and that's even if you even need a fragrance you consumerist pig. You disgust me.
>>18785594if 3 works for you, than that's enough.... personally I could never limit myself like that, there are just soo many god-tier fragrances that I couldn't live without and many many more that I've never even experienced yet.
>>18785697Name what you consider god tier anon just curious

What's your must have Tom Ford frag?
I'm looking for an alternative to this, alternative as in warm weather frag, not the same kind of scent profileI thought it was gonna be a good dumb reach fragrance for very hot days but even though I like the scent, I go anosmic to it after five minutes so I can never enjoy itHas anyone tried Sex and the Sea by Bianchi? Thinking of sampling Acqua di Sale, Beach Hut Man and Imagination
Are these zoologist frags just a meme?
>>18785711>fougerei'm sorry i don't larp as an old man in 1956
Is pic related a good Gucci Envy alternative?
>>18785760i'd put Tuscan/Ombre Leather in there. to me, they're the gold standard in terms of leather-forward frags.im really fond of BdJone of the first frags i really fell in love with was Tobacco Vanille. >>18785761i wanted to like Sex and the Sea, but i didnt like the coconut note. wasn't impressed with Imagination, but i guess it's popular for a reason so worth trying at least. i really liked Acqua di Sale too
>>18785768>Tobacco VanilleHave you ever tried tobacco chocolat?
>>18785769thats his new one right? no i havent yet
What's your favorite tobacco frag?
>>18785768You don't like coconut in general or this note in particular? Was S&S feminine?
>>18785771me neither unfortunately
>>18785767It's missing some notes from Envy, but I think it's a decent fragrance in its own right. Comes off pretty old-school with the floral notes in the middle. Floris Santal (in its current form) is a more modern take on this DNA, ditching the florals almost entirely.
>>18785773i think that one in particular. she makes pretty unisex frags. i like the house in general so it was just a little disappointing. but to each their own. worth sampling. if you want sometinhg long lasting for the summer, might want to check out Marc-Antoine Barrois and Bois Imperial Extrait.
>>18785777CheckedI didn't like Ganymede, BI is a good frag but I wanted to try something else since I've already owned and finished a bottleI'm intrigued by pic rel since I like amber and one with a summer twist seems interesting
I have a question about unisex perfums. Like is it gay to wear them as a heterosexual man? The ones I sampled smelled masculine to me.
What does fougere smell like?
>>18785780I've tried this, it's interesting in that it combines that salty accord (think Sel Marin) with spice and amber. I don't find it's particularly smoky or 'marine' smelling. There's enough to set it apart from church bombs like Avignon or Full Incense, but it's still very incense-dominant throughout the wear.
>>18785792Thanks for the heads up. I guess incense and resins are fundamentally incompatible with hot weather.
>>18785786it smells like salty milk and coins
Are these a meme or not?
>>1878579550-50some meme frags, some good/great frags
>>18785793i dont see an issue with incense in the heat, but resins are a little heavy.like i have Issey Miyake Pour Homme Intense which has some incense in it and it works great in the heat
>>18785797Wouldn't an incense-focused frag be too much though?
>>18785795I'm very split on Moth. It opens warm and medicinal with some movement towards florals and sweetness as it develops. This is great, but at around the 8 hour mark a powerful, pungent smoke takes control and doesn't fade for another 8 hours. It's probably just a skin chemistry thing, I'd recommend sampling it.Elephant Sanctuary is pretty great if you like unisex white florals.
>>18785793>>18785801I'd say Copal Azur wears dry (meaning not like sticky-sweet amber) and airy enough that it works fine in the heat. >>18785797Issey Intense is one of my favs as well. I reading that Kenzo Homme Santal Marin has a smoky/aquatic aspect which might be up my alley. However, that one is already becoming harder to find.
>>18785761Take a look at Lorenzo Pazzaglia summer frags, they seem to perform really well.Black Sea is like a better/more wearable Megamare.Adam & Eve's Dress is a great green fig one.I haven't tried the rest yet but they seem interesting.

https://dovefragrance.com/Thoughts?
>>18785839Can't find it in fragrantica therefore I can't form any thoughts about it
>>18785839So it's just a bar of Dove soap in fragrance form? Honestly, I'd wear it if its silage is subtle.
>>18785760Tobacco Vanile for sure. I'm also very fond of Soleil Neige and Oud Voyager.
>>18785760quite a few desu, with tom ford it's the money that's the problem not the lack of options
>>18785839After I take a shower with dove soap and come back home my place smells amazing. It's a nice home fragrance but I wouldn't want to smell like after shower soap.
>>18785784Some people believe fragrances don't have genders and everyone can wear what they want which is true to some extent but people naturally associate a fragrance with a gender instantly. Same is true for fragrances being dated/modern, for younger/older people, or for hot/cold weather. For the most part unisex branded fragrances are women's fragrances they don't want to lose sales for because some men wont buy them if they are listed as women's fragrances. There is also the case for some brands that don't want to bother with labeling the gender so they call everything unisex. Unisex labeling is utterly useless because it's useful information how a fragrance leans. I wear women's fragrances all the time but it's useful to know what to expect. If they were labeled as unisex I would have less information and would have been less able to predict what the fragrance would smell like.tldr: pretty gay to wear unisex fragrances, real men wear women's fragrances
SOTN Very nice. I don't get gasoline vibe. Nice violet and vanilla
>>18785760Ombre Leather, Noir Extreme. I also love Bois Pacifique and oud minerale too. Neroli Portofino + Soleil Blanc layering is the greatest summer frag.
How do you lads ID scents? I can pick up some popular ones, but I've been looking for this specific cologne that someone in my family wore when I was a child. It really stood out to me and I swear I smell it sometimes and I get transported back to being a young anon...

>>18785784Gendered perfumes are a new idea, they used to be unisex before the 20th century As long as it's not a cliche super sweet and flowery feminine fragrance, you can probably pull it off
I tried Blonde Amber recently and found it disgusting.I had similar reaction, to lesser exents, with Mystic Incense and Grand Soir, but there are plenty of amber frags that I don't mind, and even heavy/burnt labdanum doesn't feel quite as dirty. Any idea what they use to make those ambers that gives them such a dirty quality?
>>18785784fragrances don't have genders. I wear the fuck out of "unisex" frags, and I've never had a single person imply I smelled feminine

Checking out Montale Aoud Leather, a surprisingly smooth take on the "new belt" leather (+ saffron) profile that Tom Ford made famous. Kind of like Full Incense for leather, it's very one-note yet still enjoyable. I'd rec it if you tried Yuqawam and found it too sweet/fruity.

SOTE Interesting. Atomizer sucks. Starts off as burnt wood and then morphs to incense tabacco scent and then a myrrh labdanum base. It does smell like a burned out cathedral as people say
Just blind bought this r8
my sauvage elixir came in the mail the other day. it's not as nuclear as i expected, though it is louder than most frags. then again, i might be noseblind to it. i'd have to wear it in public to see if other people can still smell it.honestly, a great smelling frag, im seriously impressed. feels like it's exactly what i wanted as an easy wear for the colder months. im wearing a cardigan i wore 3 days ago when i was wearing it and the perfume is still clinging to it
>>18786311cheers, fren, glad you like itit really is in the weird intersection of 'loud brown teenager', 'nuclear panty dropper' and 'niche enthusiast frag' which is a feat in itself + it actually smells great and that doesn't happen very often
samefag is samefagging again
>>18786317sure thing, buddy
>>18786315yeah very pleased with it and you're right it doesn't happen often. loud frags are typically bothersome or cloying in my experience for the most part. i think out of the 60 i own, only Turath, Interlude and maybe Naxos i'd consider loud and the first two are trickier to find appropriate times i can wear them. i feel that with this one, as long as i don't overspray, i can wear it just about anywhere.
Went and tried out oud macacuja today by god it's actually amazing but I'm not spending $600
>>18786325probably worthwhile to get a decant. it's so loud you really don't need to spray much
>>18785485Jasmine Patchouli Vetiver (Could interchange one with Oakmoss, Iris, Violet also and be fine)In know which three I’d instantly delete: Tonka, Vanilla, Lavender, in that order. Tonka is unnecessary in 95% of frags. Doesn’t add anything, kinda just makes it worse. Lavender is nice when used in moderation. It’s so overdone in men’s that I’m starting to hate it. Can say the same for vanilla in women’s. Too sweet. I love non-gourmand vanilla.
is it possible ambre sultan low key sucks?
What's the fuss about santal 33? I don't live in a big US city so I've never smelled it, but is it actually good? Is it the same kind of "anytime, anywhere" airy-woody scent as bois imperial, or a different vibe?>>18786325600? It used to be like 300 back when I sampled crivelli's extraits a couple years ago
SOTD: Tom Ford Ombre Leather Parfumstill the best leather on the planet. Hands down.
>>18786346Santal 33 is just a simple, clean fragrance with great marketing. it falls in the same category of BI, but more sandalwoody
>>18785980I love that this exists. >>18786034>>18786040I honestly think the next ‘big thing’ (and it has actually already been this for quite a while now) is single molecule overdoses. But no one recognizes it because it’s too diverse. Basically any aromachemical can be overdosed, so even though it’s a consistent theme, people don’t recognize it because individually they smell different. >>18786165>>18786193Haven’t smelled that one specifically but Bianchi doesn’t really do weak fragrances, and I don’t think she relies on (high dose) aromachemicals that cause nose blindness (like IsoESuper in TdH) so I’m inclined to say you’ve saturated your receptors.
Bought a new frag, delivery got delayed. It's like the Lord is punishing me for the greed of expanding my collection beyond what I need. I will be buying 8-10 samples soon though, want to try Aventus and Aventus Absolu but also check if Rayhaan Obsidian is a good iris replacement for L'Homme Intense, can't live without a powdery scent>>18786148Too real I'm afraid. I'd wear Triumph of Bacchus, that peach and rum too juicy and comfy
>>18786239Full bottle or sample? Their full bottles seem… okay, not the best but not terrible, but they do use those super shitty vaporizers for their samples.
where the FUCK is a nigga to cop fleur du mal now
>>18786357Yea I think it was just my receptors will try again. It went from really strong the first 2 hours then I could barely smell it unless I put my nose against my wrist and then I remember sleeping and I could smell it on myself all night long so now in the morning I can kinda smell it again but the smell has changed too much by now I can pretty much only smell the honey. Weird. My goal with frags is to smell it on myself, some of them are so weak even if you spray them 10 times you can barely smell them, some are so strong your receptors go nose blind, others use aromachemicals that tend to cause nose blindness like you said, it seems like a hassle that finding the right frags is different for everyone.

>>18786655Yes it's very good; I personally think it's one of TF's best.
I get more enjoyment out of spending $70 on a box of decants as opposed to $70 for a full bottle. The bottle eventually gets boring about 2/3rds of the way through, and it becomes a chore to finish it. Decants run out before you get bored of them, and you get to try a bunch of new smells.
>>18786758adhd zoomers can't commit to a bottle
>>18786764I'm almost certainly older than you, son.
Just tried Pegasus Exclusif and loved it.I love all wintery sweet vanillas, sue me
>>18786758this kinda looks like me
>>18786758Yeah I had to realize this, kind of like owning a car or a pet. I like to drive and pet an animal occasionally but that's it. Don't want to deal with the baggage. Smelling new stuff, wondering what's it like, revisiting weeks or months later that few ml of samples, seeing how it changed is fun. But lately my frag bottles are put away in their boxes, I don't even care to apply them, shower+deodorant then gg. I just wanted to smell them but not use them for their purpose.
>>18786758>a chore to finish itWhat's the rush? Where is it going?>Decants run out before you get bored of themIf they run out and you still like it then you should have gotten the bottle.
>>18786802Frags eventually go bad even if you keep them in a dark and cool environment. Early on in my frag journey I made the mistake of buying a 100ml bottle, and that shit took me years to get through. The last 10% or so smelled noticeably a bit sour/rancid. 30-50ml is plenty
Newest keeps in the blind buy hoard.
>>18786758Sell your partial you dummy. There’s always someone who wants more than a decant/travel size but less than a full size bottle.
>>18786805Three squiggle scripts and your spray bottle to stop your cat from getting on the counter top? Why bother posting.
>>18786804If you spray a full size 5x daily, it should take 6 months to finish a bottle. If it sat for years, that’s on you.
>>18786810Or I could just buy a 15ml decant to begin with and not have to deal with any of that, dummy
>>18786814That “cat bottle” is Shi by Alfred Sung. If you had an inkling of experience with perfumes, that piece of history would have stuck out like a sore thumb. There’s also an English translation of the Arabic script for pretentious non-frens. >>18786816Whether a decant is worth it is highly dependent on the value of the perfume itself.
>>18786817>Women’s fragrance from 2000>piece of historyDoesn’t even register as a foot note fren, try again. Also, the existence of a translation on the bottle doesn’t (even remotely) outweigh the provenance.
>>18786819Stay spending $400 on oil and synthetic molecules that all come from the same sources.
>>18786819Kek I remember this general being very anti Arabic frags years ago. I come back now and it looks like some of you old farts are still moping around as always.I'm glad the new generation of zoomer fragheads from tictac aren't nearly as myopic and retarded. They love clone houses and budget performers.
>>18786827>the new generation of zoomer fragheads from tictac aren't nearly as myopic and retarded
>>18786831Why did you just post a selfie?
>>18786821Cheapies are readily available that don’t come in squiggle script. Strike two.
>>18786804Damn i just bought like 10 100ml bottles thought they would last forever
>>18786840If you keep them sealed and in a cool/dark place they should last a long while. Mine only went bad because I actually used it, which introduced oxygen into the bottle. So basically as soon as you actually open and spray it, thats when the timer really starts.
