I'm thinking about a Vario. Probably the 37mm trench with the bund strap though. But I can never even come close to narrowing down the color I want. And they say they're raising the prices soon.
I can live without it.

This is a chronograph with a counter. You can advance the counter by 10 with the 10 o'clock pusher and by 1 with the 4 o'clock pusher. The counter also advances by 1 at midnight, so you can also use it as a big date. Shame the watch is extremely rare as it was only sold during the 1964 Olympic Games inside the Olympic Village.

I'm having to sell my collection due to financial struggles and so I'll be buying a $400-$500 GADA watch to replace all their roles, once they've all sold. I've been agonizing about it for about three weeks now and I've narrowed it down to these three. Which would you choose?

>Tissot
Goes with pretty much everything, but can't flex between straps (I know they make notched leather straps for it but I think they're ugly as sin). It also has no micro adjustment. Very accurate though, I owned one years ago and it had impressive timekeeping for an automatic in this price range.

>Seiko
My favorite dial and handset by far, but pretty much requires you buy a $100+ aftermarket bracelet for it as it's terrible quality and has only two micro adjustments. The movement also has pretty awful timekeeping even when regulated, in my experience. Can flex between straps, looks especially great on brown leather.

>Bulova
Sleeper hit here, has the Precisionist quartz movement that is accurate to +/- 10 seconds a year, last 4-5 years on a battery, and has a smoothing sweeping seconds hand like a Grand Seiko. The issue would be same as the Tissot, stuck on the bracelet with no micro adjustment, and also that the fluted bezel, while beautiful, is hard to dress down to more casual outfits.

Which do you think I should go with? I'm really stuck on this.
>>
>>18788173
What are you selling? Why not pick a watch based on having similar features to a few of your favorite watches?
>>
>>18788178
That's basically what I'm doing. I'm selling:

Seiko Alpinist SARB017
Lorier Zephyr (green special edition)
Geckota Sea Hunter (Jade special edition)
Seagull 1963 Icon II, bronze green chrono limited edition
Citizen NB1062-17W
>>
>>18787950

>>
>>18788182

>>
>>18788128
they made a plastic version of this too? holy slop
>>
>>18788188
Zephyr goes for $2000 to $3000 (one sold for $3400 recently, the one before that sold for $2400), Geckota I bought used for $750 so I'll ask for the same, Alpinist for $900 (after which I had it serviced, so I think that adds value), Seagull for $450 (like new, selling for $615 plus shipping right now), Citizen for $700 (although the last sale of one online was 2+ years ago). Hoping to get $4000 to $5000 for everything. I know it doesn't make much sense to sell watches if comparable value only to buy one that's $300-$600, but I want to replace them all with a single watch that does pretty much everything, if that makes sense.

Don't go with boring subs, go GMT or go Omega or Tudor for a diver (Bonus: Black Bay 58 GMT, although the gilt requires some time to get used to for some, this watch has an aluminum bezel that makes it less flashy than any Rolex GMT)

It's a case of appreciating the design but not the overpricing. $100 is fair. $1,000 is ridiculous.
>>
But I'm "poor", so what do I know? It's probably more "based" to spend the $1,000 so some German guy can get paid more to make cheap watches.
>>
>>18788544
>It's a case of appreciating the design but not the overpricing. $100 is fair. $1,000 is ridiculous.
Going from 0 to 95 is cheap. Going from 95 to 99 costs a lot. Going from 99 to 100 is incredibly expensive.
Those final details are always the most expensive.

Well, what are you getting with that extra 900 bucks when you buy the Nomosover the Chinese thing?
Real customer service and a warranty?
A better designed, in-house movement?
Real QC? A movement that's been properly adjusted, not just regulated?

Even the case finishing. Sure, they're both just high--polish, but you can tell when you hold them side-by-side that one is polished with care and the other is indifferently mashed against a buffing wheel.

You're not JUST paying for design and raw materials. Time and labor are always expensive.

None of those things are free. If you don't care about any of those, then, by all means, go for the very cheapest option.
>>
>>18788550
Yeah, I don't care. I like the design but I don't love it. Not even close to a watch I'd wear more than once a month. I could never justify $1,000 for some close-up details on a fucking wristwatch. And there are no visible flaws as you assume. There's no obvious lack of care. There's really not much to gussy up on such a plain design. Which is why people frequently call Nomos out for costing so much for what it is. A flat, bland, printed dial on a really rudimentary case with post lugs.
If it was something I'd wear all the time though, well I'd still not spend more than a few hundred tops. It's a goddamned watch.
>>
And I don't think Nomos offers it in PURPLE.
