Count calories, all of them.

Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. Not lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.

Cook meals man. Come up with something hearty for breakfast, like an oatmeal shake and try to wait until closer to noon to have it. then have a hearty dinner of meat, potatoes and spinach. Tailor the portions to stay in a consistent calorie range (don't listen to apps saying you've "earned more calories") and factor in a nice big tablespoon of butter or margerine for the potatoes and veg. You can dial in the perfect ammount of food to keep you going and stick to it. Dieting doesn't have to mean forcing yourself to eat raw veggies you don't like.

Days 18-23 complete. Currently sitting at 160.23 miles.

I must admit, I've been struggling a bit the past few days; my ankle is really stiff and I've felt quite low energy.

Rest of team is on track to complete (just, with the exception of boss man who finished nearly a week ago), but I don't know if I can because I'm struggling to get the motivation.

The remaining 40 miles is only about 6 per day, but with my diet as well, I'm starting to feel a little lethargic.

The plan today is to complete the walk and then grill a T-Bone when I get home. It's something I haven't had since I started my diet at 450lbs. It'll be the first day in about a year that I've eaten at or over maintenance but as a one off, to get my body feeling a little more human, I think it's worth it.

Even if I don't think I can; I am finishing this thing no matter what!! I may not have the motivation, but I'll be damned if I don't have the discipline.

this whole losing weight thing has become more of a comfort thing rather than an actual goal as of recently.
getting fit would do absolutely nothing of value for me, im so far off the mark from ever succeeding in any social aspect (friends, romance, confidence) due to other physical aspects outside of my weight that are objectively unchangeable that now the whole appeal of being treated better/looking better when youre slim doesn’t appeal to me anymore.
when ive told ppl this they also resort to telling me to do it for myself then, my health and lifespan sort of thing, but that fails too, im skinnyfat, not obese, so any health issues that'll ever occur from my lack of fitness will only happen well into old age, and living that old doesn’t seem appealing anyways.
i dont want nor plan to give up on losing weight but i have absolutely nothing that makes me want to keep going either. i feel like i do it simply out of routine now, knowing every calorie i eat down to the gram and seeing my weight go up and down every weekly weigh-in.

As the other anon said as a fatty who is trying to lose weight most of your protein should be coming from normal food as they will have much higher satiety, ideally animal sources like lean meats and dairy as they offer complete protiens. Chicken breast, turkey, lean ground beef, sardines, salmon, yogurt, egg whites, reduced fat milk, ect those are your optimal protein sources they'll taste better and be far more filling than protein powder. The advantage of powder is convenience and the fact its usually about as pure a protein source as you can get, so its good for filling in when you're below your protein target for the day but near your calorie limit and dont have many to spare. Or for extreme diets like PSMF where you just eat like a glass of water mixed with 6 scoops of protein powder and a multivitamin and that all you have in a day.

But you dont have to worry about that now, you should just make a normal meal with a lean protein source and a green vegetable or two.

Once you start living your life again your "weight loss journey" takes up an deminishingly small part of your attention, you've got your job/wife/kids/hobbies/friends/family/ect taking up your mental space and you just aren't thinking about your calories anymore, you're not weighing yourself daily, you're not checking in with fatty contest, you're not looking up how many calories are in that recipe your wife made you, or those cookies your mother dropped off for your birthday, and next thing you know you're back where you started from. Complacency is death here, that's how you fail. You can't rest on your laurels and go from eating chicken and broccoli everyday back to eating hamburgers, pizza, fried chicken, ice cream, and cookies now that you hit 15% bodyfat, its got to be a lifelong lifestyle change if you want it to stick. That's not to say you can't ever have those things again either, you'll just have to budget for them.

Typed my post before I saw yours. Trying resting a couple days? It could be your body retaining water. I'm five foot 10 and 268 pounds so fat loss is easier for me too. I think so, I found I don't want those things nearly as much now that I consider their caloric value versus their satiety when considering what I want to eat. I hate feeling hungry after eating and if I'm eating the slop within my calorie limit I'm going to be fucking hungry. So even though I *can* have pizza and burgers, I know if I have them end up feeling hungry even though I've spent all my calories for the day, so I end up eating my typical healthy meals instead because they're far more satiating.

Like how can a slice of pizza compare to an entire bowl of broccoli, chicken, and a fruit smoothie? They have the same caloric value but they're not equal according to my stomach. Sure pizza tastes good, but one slice isn't enough to make me feel full and eat slice is like an entire meals worth of calories. It just isn't worth it.

Wegovy/Ozempic is cheaper, and they're pushing pretty hard now that Mounjaro has risen in price.
Ozempic is slightly less effective, it doesn't moderate your blood sugar quite as well. Some people have side effects on Mounjaro but no Ozempic, and vice versa.

If you're not as fat, and so have less issues with blood sugar, Ozempic is near enough the same, but a lot cheaper.


Other than that, there's various shady shit you can get away with, depending on your particular country and their laws regarding importing foreign pharmaceuticals.

As far as studies go, Mounjaro users lose about 21% in the time it takes Ozempic users to lose 15%. So, it's faster, and that's probably due to the stronger suppression.

But, either way both drugs show weight loss, it just might be slower, and you might slip up more often on Ozempic.

Really, what you're buying with these drugs is stress reduction. You know that for as long as you take them, there is a biological force acting against you and making overeating much more difficult. It doesn't change how you digest food, it doesn't reduce the calories in food. It just makes you feel like you don't need it. And in basically everyone's case, if you don't feel like you need food, you don't eat as much of it. And for as long as you can stay on it, you'll continue to lose weight in nearly all cases. So, realistically, it's better to just go with what you can afford long term than weighing up a short-term course and hoping it fixes you.
It might. Honestly, it might. But, it also could just not and you might rebound, as a lot of people do with any form of weight loss.


For me a lot of my weight gain is tied to depression and probably ADHD to some extent. My body craves dopamine and because those levels are so low, the act of consuming calories to survive another day became a big success as far as my body was concerned. I've had periods of good weight loss when I've been in a good place. But, when shit goes south, I get fat fast. So Mounjaro has completely removed that as a source of dopamine for me, and I think of food more as just calories and nutrition. I still like good food. I just don't really want it. The highlight of my day isn't eating a 3000kcal bowl of pasta, cheese sauce and ham anymore, so that's pretty nice.
