>>76549293If you're interested in capes and tights check out Grant Morrison's run on JLA, it's an OP lineup of the most famous DC heroes but Morrison does a great job coming up with stories that keep it interesting. When your team consists of Superman, Martian Man Hunter, The Flash, etc, you have to come up with plot ideas where the solution isn't to punch your way through the problems.

The Bendis and Brubaker run (I put them together since they are continuous in narrative, direction, tone, and artistry) was incredible for how gritty, street level, crime-ridden, etc the series was. The art matched it perfect, too. Lots of cool grounded twists and tension. My only question is whether Zdarsky's, since it's from ~2019, has that edge, realism, and lack of wokeness/activism that infected much of the industry post-Trump being elected, i.e. writers trading in interesting, creative narratives for dull pulpit sermons concerning "orange man bad". I know every writer didn't go that route (ex Hickman), but it did feel like a mandate from management/editors as a ploy to increase sales, imo.I haven't read The Question so I'll give that a shot for sure.
