won't the belt fuck your spine up?

pendulum squats are by far my favorite, never tried belt squats
>>
>>76562720
That's not the hack squat.
>>
>>76562720
Dude thats not what forklifts are for
>>
>>76562720
First time I did back squats I felt a sharp needle going down my spine and people just told me "just build the calluses on your traps bro" this confirmed to me that back squats are shit and people just get used to it

Switch to zercher, front or even these machines, not worth it
>>
>>76562731
It can but the angle of pull on the spine is more forgiving since it's more horizontal it doesn't compress the spine much if at all and I think the combination of compression and sheer forces is what typically fucks the spine up. Also the belt can sorta traction the spine a little
>>
>>76562776
I'm doing squats only because there's not hack squat yet. People who worked there mentioned themselves that that's on their wish list. Hope someday.
>>
>>76562720
You mean basically all the leg machines.
>>76562740
Belt squats are honorary machine but it can't handle too heavy weights.

don't you find it irritating having to load (and unload if you're unlucky and gym manager finds you) 6-9 pl8s when you have to do belt squats?

you can use bands to reduce or eliminate plates. if you have back pain from squats there's really no other alternative anyway
>>
>>76565304
not really any more than loading/unloading plates for squats/deadlifts (deadlifts especially because of the way you have to roll them onto a plate to make it easier or just deal with it)

part of the reason I like pendulum squats more than hack squats or belt squats though is that you can actually get more of a challenge with lighter weights because of the way the weight moves in an arc
>>
>>76565331
nope on a squat rack the plate storage is right next to the bar, just load up the bar with weights.
no one cares if you don't unload it either coz the squat weights stay on or near the bar at all times
>>>76565325
what are you a retard playing around with rubber bands. shit always snaps when you're in the zone doing a heavy set too.
>>

>nope on a squat rack the plate storage is right next to the bar, just load up the bar with weights.

I dont decide my exercises based on if I need to walk the extra 10-15 feet to grab a plate from somewhere
>>
>>76565374
10-15 feet * hundreds of times a year * atleast 30 years of training
really it's just a mental thing i have and i notice other people doing the same - any machine that requires a lot of plates being loaded just doesn't get used much
>>
>>76565340
I've had bands snap on me many times including the heaviest band available which was about 6 inches thick. Total nothingburger. Keep it away from your face or wear safety glasses.
>>
>>76565388
>wear safety glasses.
Would you mind posting a pic of you in your workout gear? I just want to see your rig.
>>
>>76565413
My body is my rig for bands. Although I do have a rogue power rack. I don't take pictures of personally identifiable info. I know how tech works unfortunately. I have cybersecurity level knowledge lol

you aren't the do sex guy ?
>>
>>76562720
My gym has one of these and I've seen it used only 2 or 3 times in several years. I've never bothered either and desu it looks like a machine that will snap your spine without perfect setup and form.
>>
>>76565696
I can't figure out how to use it desu.
>>
>>76562720
But I don't care about my legs that much, I squat specifically to build my back.
>>
>>76565882
why not just do back exercises?
