If you eat at BMR, you're never going to break through your plateau. The point of eating at maintenance is to make your body believe you're no longer in a state of deprivation so that when you resume your calorie deficit, it will willingly give up its fat stores because it doesn't feel that you've been dieting for so long. You've undergone what is called adaptive thermogenesis, where your body down-regulates your metabolism to compensate for extended periods of dieting. You need to up-regulate it by eating at maintenance.

Just weighed myself this morning, 285. Started the year at 411. I don’t even remember the last time I weighed this much, high school maybe? Well, point is I feel really good. 1500 calories a day, no cheat days, and just to ensure I’m hitting my mark exactly I pretty much only eat prepackaged food. I DONT recommend this for most people, this is what I do because I’m far too lazy to sit there and do macros on every ingredient, it’s much easier to just throw in a lean cuisine and go “okay this is 280 calories”. A nice trick I learned to enhance food is bacon bits, sounds fattening but they have 30 calories in a teaspoon which is a ton of bits. You can just put a pinch in your slop and it adds a ton of flavor. I get a lot of those microwave rice slop bowls and I usually put a pinch in.

I should also mention I don’t exercise at all, I’m extremely sedentary. From my experience when I plateau it means one of three things

1.) you aren’t shitting enough
2.) you’re eating too much
3.) you’re weighing yourself at weird times

Drink a glass of Metamucil twice a day, it’s a miracle product trust me. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning after you shit and if you slow down don’t panic, just make sure you aren’t overeating before you think it’s over.

I'm 6ft2" and 280lbs (20stone+ for my fellow bongs) and I'm going for it.
I've got a calorie tracker app (didn't have this last time I attempted a diet) and taking it slow by just limiting my calories (calorie deficit they call it?)

My main concern is my really bad gyno I've had since puberty, I did go the doctors in my early 20s for a blood test and they said hormones were fine, good luck which is typical NHS, this have of course had a terrible effect on my mental health and anywhere I got I must wear baggy clothing etc. I was wondering should I stay to my calorie deficit and walking daily or do I weight lift now because I've heard for instance doing chest exercise can push the moobs out and make them appear worse?
