I was on varying doses of corticosteroids for na autoimmune disease, ranging from 30mg daily to 5mg every other day

I'd say my changes were mostly cosmetic, having more water retention made me develop a larger face and a dowagers hump

cortisol levels also change so she might experience mood swings, as I did sometimes

a tip regarding water retention is to eat less salt/salted food as salt combined with corticosteroids makes you retain even more water

all in all it's a good drug for autoimmune conditions and inflammatory conditions in general, but that shouldn't be the primary way of controlling whatever problems she may be dealing with, as long term corticosteroid usage might lead to liver problems (I have a slightly enlarged liver because of them)

tldr; good for treating symptoms, but not the underlying condition, is used as a "frontline" drug to treat inflammation and pain associated with it

-Increased hunger
-More energy (at least in the first week)
-Water retention (have to lower her sodium intake)
-Hipomania (only a small % get this, but since I did I'll mention it)
Now, the long term side effects are kinda nasty, so I think it's better to do multiple short courses.

I was on asthma medication for over 15 years and i'm fine. Don't worry. Although i was taking advair only so i don't think it was too high dosages but nontheless 15 year is not a little time

So doctors prescribe damgeroud drugs for something that can be treated with a selenium supplementation? Not guaranteed effect, but that should be the first thing to try. Especially if she was on a high iodine diet and didn't have this conditions in her late teens

I took over 50mg a day for pneumonia I had. I’ve never in my life sweated like I did those first few nights.
