i need help /fit/. i just turned 40 and for a few years now, i have been experiencing a tremendous loss of energy. i have been losing weight, but even after 30-40 lbs of weight loss, i am still low energy. still working on losing more weight too. i take adhd medicine to do better at my job, but even at 50mg vyvanse, i still barely go the entire day without needing a nap. i started taking multivitamins, in case it was related to some basic nutrient i am missing, but not seeing much results there. both my testosterone and thyroid panels came back as average and normal for my age. i don't know what else to do. i can barely take my kid somewhere because im always tired. i am considering getting a sleep study done, since my doctor suggested it could be sleep apnea, but not hopeful there. i see plenty of men my age still able to function like normal adults, so i know this is not normal. if anyone has overcome these issues, please offer your suggestions. i just want to be a good dad and be there for my children. pardon the tripfagging, just making one in case my thread gets archived or deleted before i come back from the trampline park (very tired but pushing through it so my child can do at least one fun thing this weekend)

i just walk still, since running while fat has been painful. embarrassed by all the jiggling too, but i guess i need to get over that

only when i don't drink coffee that day. it's the same place above my right eye too. shit is painful

i'm basically taking an analog to adderall, but it barely works. kind of hesitant to ask to change meds, since the dr office is so strict on dispensing/prescribing amphetamines. they made me sign some huge contract and do periodic drug tests. guess it won't hurt to ask on my next check-up tho

I'm gonna be in the minority here but take it easy with your runs, do it one time max twice a week and DO NOT overexert yourself. If walking is still challenging milk it out until you really feel like running is something you can't avoid. Running is a bitch at first so take it easy and take your time anon, don't get sucked into any couch to 5K bs until your weight is well managed beyond any reasonable doubt in the long term. If you have any time to go to the gym and lift stuff then you should also do it, even just going twice a week would do wonders. Even something like day 1 back extensions and abs day 2 something for your hamstrings and stretching/mobility would turn your health around in a bunch of months.

Get your test and bloodwork done. Make sure you undergo regular cancer screenings too

temporarily do this
-switch from adhd meds to tea/coffee
-stop eating a calorie deficit (this can make u tired)
-switch to low intensity exercise, walks etc
-buy some cheapo sleep monitoring app or something if really suspicious of that
-start taking vitamin d + k (a multivitamin doesnt give you enough of this if you're not going in the sun)

Treat it basically like a 'elimination diet' where someone with stomach problems switches to eating only rice or something and slowly introduces back in other foods to find a food alergy. Do the same thing here, once you stop feeling sleepy then pick one of the things that is most important and start doing it again and see how you feel.

Honestly its probably the vyanese. Your body adjusts to stims and has refractory periods and shit. I used to use adderall and modafinil and all sorts of shit cause getting starting coding during the day was so hard for me. It still is but I've learned its more of a mental block than anything else and once you push through the first 20 minutes or whatever I'm as lucid and focused as on stims. adhd literally isn't real.

How fast was the weight loss? If it was abnormally fast then that's probably cancer. Get checked.
