How in the fuck do I learn how to jump rope? I want to learn how to box but this is impossible

Spread it out in sets.

Maybe boxing isn't for you. Its for coordinated people. Maybe try /v/?

Get smarter. I dont know what it is but I have noticed all the people I suggested jump roping too, healthy or not, only the dumb fucks have the biggest issue trying to learn. They can't seem to figure out you only need to jump just 1 inch off the ground while at the same time just flicking your wrists, not their entire arm. Instead they jump like they are jumping over a fence or they will swing the rope as if they are trying to get it over a tree or something.

I just started a week ago and literally picked up my phone and found this thread in the middle of one of my rest intervals.
Everything tha this anon says is spot on for form.
Get a HIIT program on your phone so you can start with anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute and then take a break.
I had to rest for a few days because my ankle was bothering me but it recovered and I'm back at it.
Correct form and pace yourself.

Surely this is bait. How could anyone be this incompetent??

flick only the wrists and jump and land on your metatarsals, and really just one inch as poster x said>>76579759

try enough and you'll eventually get a hang of it
it's normal to suck at it if you have never tried
it's like riding a bike, you have to to figure it out through your body

You can get away with not skipping as a beginner but paradoxically you still need it as a beginner
>>
>>76579343
I don't understand the question.
You swing the rope and jump over it....
>>
Are weighted skipping ropes just a meme?

Only the heavy ones. The 0.5lbs and 1lbs are fine once you work to it. I’d still prioritize speed ropes if you’re boxing tho

Test.

The trick is to weight less

You have to make sure it's the proper length. My entire life I thought I couldn't jump rope until I fixed the length

Hey if I get a nice cable speed rope, is it going to fuck up my garage flooring if I use it often?
