What are some good protein powder sources/brands? Price isn’t a huge barrier, but the cheaper the better.
>>
>>76580926
There are very few brands that taste like dogshit these days. The more mainstream the brand the less likely it will be full of lead/motor oil/dirt. Just keep trying different ones until you find something you like. ON whey double rich chocolate has been positively memed for decades now because it was one of the first good tasting powders. They keep jacking the price to the point where you can probably find something cheaper/better now, althoughbeit.

Whatever Costco holds in stock worked for me
>>
Allmax Whey on Amazon is really cheap and mixes well+taste good . Its around $78 leafbux for 5lbs
>>

Ironically Optimum Nutrition (ON now?) was one of the ones I tried when I was younger; suuuuper watery, don’t love the taste. Just mentioned Legion/TL because it’s what I’ve tried in the last few months.

I’m actually not really focused on taste, as you say most seem to be fine (enough) these days. I’m moreso looking for what’s most effective for gainz.
>>

Whats a good protein powder that tastes like nesquik? Price is kind of an issue.
>>
>>76581058
unflavored spiked with nesquik would probably be cheapest
>>
>>76581058
One that has a fuck ton of sugar.
>>
nutricost chocolate is actually great, surprisingly great and way better than the garbage I had in high school
>>
>>76580926
Just make 20g protein vanilla into a milkshake and eat an egg also for max gains. Ive been getting bigger on the cut, and instead of a huge one just add more syrup since you should be eating way more pwo carbs and better to extend the workout and eat more carbs anyways than to only eat protein all day since you arent working out enough to have a high calorie diet.
>>
>>76580926
stop wasting your money with overpriced garbage and just eat chicken breasts for several times better protein per $ and far better nutritional value
>>
>>76581160
sometimes it's good to have a chocolaty drink that has no sugar and 25gs of protein
>>
>>76581032
Youll get way better gains freezing chicken breast since meat has creatine in it and is the most complete amino acid profile, you can eat 200g of protein of kebabs way easier than 10 scoops of whey. Get good at cooking i was rating 4000+cals a day easily and losing/maintaining.
>>
>>76580926
chicken
>>
>>76581167
>why kebabs/marinade
I need another fucking fridge to eat enough and drink enough im fuckin starving
>>
>>76581167
are you assuming that everyone who takes protein shakes also doesn't eat meat or ingest any creatine

sometimes you don't want to eat anything and you want a sugary drink or a desert or something, but a chocolate protein powder replaces that bad thing you would have had

get it
>>
>>76580999
in my experience ON is still best bang for buck. other brands may have some flavors that test better, but they are either the same cost or higher at a lower volume canister
>>
>>76581176
I prefer chicken dishes and chocolate ice cream with cocoa powder and pretzels.

I want to start doing 500cal mulkshakes with 20g protein every 30min while doing moderately hard lifting smoking weed and drinking. I am about to go steal a bunch of protein from target. They will not be able to catch me riding my bike in the woods.
>>
>>76581182
nutricost chocolate is $59.95 for 5lb $54 if you subscribe on amazon

>>76581194
interesting

This is great if you have the money for it. Not for tastelets though. Otherwise I’d recommend ascent. ON has gotten more and more gross over the years imo.
>>
>>76581203
Thats barely less than on sale chicken breast and you have to buy milk/ice cream anyways.
>>
Rule 1 is my favorite
>>
>>76580926
Whey concentrate comes with nutrients like lactoferrin and other bioactive compounds, unless you are doing a serious cut it comes with its advantages.
>>
>>76580926
I drink raw eggs with some honey
>>
>>76581203
>nutricost
hmm i'll give this a try

>>
The premier protein goyshakes are good for on the go.

>>76581058
Not powder but you're going to have to find an ultrafiltered milk product to get that sort of taste. I'm partial to nurri myself.

this is somehow the cheapest grams/$ despite it being a 2lb container ($14 for 18x30g servings and its amazing blended with a banana and some milk
>>

>somehow
Consider the label and what sort of person its targeting, and add extra lead from whatever fly by night suppliers in Bharat they source from.
>>
>>76581411
the lead makes you resilient
>>
>>76581355
I'm using the chocolate version and its pretty good. Frosted flakes flavor is too memetastic to be good
>>
>>76580926
I use isopure. Not bad taste, especially if you use skim milk instead. Most flavors have no fat/carb/sugar, just pure protein. Honestly though, really shouldn't give a fuck about taste. I'm thinking I'll even buy the unflavored version for more use in other stuff. I drink the shake so fast I'm caring less and less about the flavor.
>inb4 OmG iTs gOt s¤y LeCiThIn!!!!
It's an emulsifier, you would literally get more phytoestrogens from a head of broccoli.
>>
>>76580926
The %DV for protein can tell you how well the protein is suited for human consumption, for example 24g should have 48% DV, less %DV probably means there's vegetable or collagen protein. Dividing the protein by the serving size can tell you how much filler is in the formula, 24g protein in a 32g serving is 75% protein but 30g protein in a 45g serving is 66.6% protein
>>
curious about something, where you guys live what's cheaper for g of protein, chicken breast or whey protein?
I did the math and here chicken is slightly cheaper if you buy the shitty discount store chicken, and about the same if you get the edible stuff
>>
>>76581211
This garbage is double the price of straight up unflavored whey protein.
That's what you get for paying the Paleo meme tax.
>>
>>76581251
He said protein

Help me pick, and understand why does the bottom cost so much more. Is it propaganda
>>
>>76582734
Is this straight unflavored protein? Otherwise post the actual ingredients.
>>
>>76582734
The main reason is the %protein per serving, 20g protein per 30g vs 28 per 35g. This is probably a whey concentrate vs whey isolate comparison. The EAA/BCAA comparison is probably marketing bs. If you don't care about having a little bit more carbs/fat then concentrate is fine. I buy isolate sometimes but it's never at 2-3 times the cost, maybe 1.5x is fine. Isolate if only 'necessary' if you can't spare like 20 calories per shake or if you have digestion problems like lactose intolerance or something
>>
>>76581230
wtf are you on, no I just mix it with water and it's legit great

The second one is more expensive because it's a whey protein isolate. It shouldn't be that expensive, but that's why it costs more.
