What the fuck is going on with science-based lifters???And why are they all either dyels or indian?
>>76581095>Lifting 2 years>For thatScoiencexisters BTFO again...
they're too busy winning at life to make gay threads like these
I'm sure this totally average dude gets asked constantly.
>>76581095probably because they're too focused on the science and not actually focused on how to push themselves in the gym. Its better to be a gym bro who lifts like shit but pushes themselves to the absolute limit.
It's called Analysis ParalysisThey're too concerned about getting the perfect hole in one without ever playing golf before.
>>76581095Science based content is clickbait for beginners so a lot of them are just new but also it’s pretty much just this >>76581114 they program themselves to squeeze out results by researching and optimizing whereas bros program themselves to get results by just training hard
>>76581131This. They'd rather spend hours deciding between a 3x5 or a 5x3 rather than just lifting to failure like a chad.
>>76581095Science based is just low T. There's not much more to it.
>>76581098Do you have a peer reviewed study that proves we are btfo? Because if you are implying my build (a sample size of 1) is relevant to the discussion you are a troglodyte. No doubt a drumpf supporter as well.
How do you define science based lifting? I don’t understand this meme
its actually a bottom tier low intelligence that doesnt understand the evolutionary power of heuristics in bodybuilding and how this system, unconstrained by ethical considerations or long timeframes of academic studies is much more effective than science at approximating the best methods of developing musculature.
idk
>>76581250>Crucifixion FlapsHe lifted for our gains
>>76581250>using pads to lock you in place>look like a spazzing retard while doing itScience based simpleton
>>76581095Planet gayness
>>76581095I stopped using barbells because I couldn't get the form right and kept injuring myself, haven't had a single injury since switching to machines
>>76581648>haven't had a single injury since switching to machinesYou also haven't had any gains since switching to machines
>>76581648Lift with light weights until you perfect the form, then increase
I only ever get hurt using machines. Some muscle gets always gets tweaked and the odds of it happening converge to 100% the more I use them.
>>76581655no
>>76581095It's honestly crazy that Dr Mike and Nip are basically considered bro lifters by these young tiktok science lifters.
>>76581218Its funny but this is literally how they act
>>76581114>>76581131>>76581095its honestly a crazy phenomena. i think its probably because so many autistic guys get into lifting. i cant think of any other sport like basketball, football, ice hockey etc where people think science first and then actually doing second. like nobody gets paralysis by analysis by reading peer reviewed studies on how to throw a basketball. you just go and play and even at the top 0,000000000001% level people will have the most unique and weirdest techniques but they make it work.
>>76581098it's POV, so this is what the science-based lifter sees as they're asked how much they bench.
>>76581095>>76581131I have OCD and I cannot fucking stick to a workout plan, I have an intense desire to remake my plan every fucking week. Like my brain screams at me that my workouts are for nothing (when I am getting extreme DOMS) or that I'm gaining only fat and no muscle.I need someone to just tell me what to do and I do it. I wish I wasn't like this
>>76581978You’re just a dumbass. Dont worry though most people are.
I study exercise science at uni and almost no one lifts
>>76581095I somewhat believe these accounts are ran by two guys, a meathead who actually lifts and writes all the jokes and their beginner friend who's willing to participate and actSurely no one lacks self awareness like this
>>76581990>I study exercise science at uni and almost no one liftsreally, no entrance exam?my degree is a sport specialized university called>sport and performance (about how to make pro athletes even better)and the entrance exam was brutalmost students here could've gone pro in their respective disciplineliterally everyone in my classes is /fit/though no body builders, but everyone goes to the gym at least once per weak
>>76581884>>76581249>>76581200>>76581134It's why nerds are kept out of sports and hobbies in general. People in sports can be weirdos or unhinged but there's a very peculiar kind of deranged obsessive autist that is filtered from every sport by pure coincidental Brad bullying.Bodybuilding and the hobbies/sports around it like weightlifting dont have that filter because they're individualist sports and have a fake positive unspoken rule about being unexclusiveThis is the same kind of autists who gatekeeps video games or even 4chan itself and screeches when you dont follow their modus operandi. You guys know that comic strip with hobbies degenerating because a chad and two females and two random guys barge in with nerds then the nerds leave ? In real life it happens the other way least the nerd gets bullied
>>76581095replication crisis
>>76581095>>76581250I just found him on Instagram. Holy fuck i want to punch him in the face.
>>76581134>bros program themselves to get results by just training hard>hard>body needs to be stronger>body gets strongerNo one ever really needed studies on building muscle. It's like a lab where they figure out how to make you not hungry and count how many jellybeans or potatoes it takes. Fucking duh.
How much of science-based is autistic special interest?
>>76581105dude, once normies find out you go to the gym, the first thing they ask is bench
>>76582024Interesting point of view. Never thought about it that way. I can see normies getting pushed out of hobbies by tryhard nerds that minmax every aspect of it and make it impossible to be casual. It's why I don't play online vidya anymore, for example. I used to love it as a teenager but now that I got other shit to worry about I just get my ass handed even at the most casual levels.
>>76581218Kek
Just ignore them, they only exist because you notice them. >they do not exist they do not exist they do no existrepeat this internally and feel the feeling of a gym culture without them, soon they will not be there anymore
>>76581095Barbells are injury town. Science-based lifters keep themselves strong and fit for a long time.
science based grifters heh
>>76581250this is no different to faggots who wear straps or gloves while rowing
unironically why has lifting not evolved in decades? it's essentially still all the same shit, why haven't they figured out any legit hacks yet?
>>76582646>Barbells are injury town. Science-based lifters keep themselves strong and fit for a long time.I'd say the guys who use barbells are just more likely to be reckless. Third variable. OHP doesn't feel bad but the shoulder press machine wants to twist my front delts off.
>>76582784DNA and lifestyle mean any hacks need to be tailored to one's self. Mike Mentzer and farmers have opposite workouts
>>76582813Youre probably too big for it or it goes far out. If you have shoulder injuries often, try pre fatiguing with failure work then going heavy so you can train cns with less weight, its not as good as perfect technique max weight but you can just do some speed reps with the beginning weight without trying to push past failure with too heavy weight(trying to get size with arbitrarily heavy weight).
>>76582784there is not that much left to figure out, and most people don't want to learn to do any exercises + liability for the gym. thats why you have to take a class like crossfit if you want to do anything that takes mild skill to do. the machines are designed so really dumb people can use them without thinking and not really get hurt. most of the studies they have to find people who can do the exercise before they can do the study, and half the good exercises you would have to spend time teaching them the exercise which is a different thing they would be studying.
>>76582813>>76582842I think it was Lex Wheeler who said he hated shoulder press machines because they didn't give him a natural flow and forced him into a specific range of movement.I love barbells because they allow me to move more weight, but I think dumbells are also great. The only time I use machines is for ancillary cable exercises.
>>76581095You say that until you need an excuse to why the 5"7 guy lifts more than you and looks better.
>>76581095Everytime I see these twinks doing one arm pull downs I laugh. Nigger just deadlift heavy and do chinups. Shit blows up.Also, tits get massively engorged on barbell bench. Anyone who says bench doesnt work pecs is a liar.
>>76581095Machines are a lie and I am seething about it. >Be me, plant fitness goer>Use machines exclusively >Read starting strength and all about how dumbbells and barbells are better for you than machines>Try itI’m much weaker than I thought! I was comfortably doing 60 lbs on the shoulder press, with dumbbells I max out with 20 lbs. Same with chest press, and don’t get me started on the abs machine vs sit-ups. I feel like my gym life was a lie
>>76581238“Science based lifting” is more of a content creator gimmick than actual style of training. A lot of very popular YouTube channels (Jeff Nippard, Renaissance Periodizarion) market themselves as “science based” and do things like upload videos every time some new study comes out, or flash screenshots of studies on the screen while they are talking. This gives them an appearance of authority and appeals to an audience of people who want to make sure they are training optimally. The practical result however is that “science based lifters” (aka people who follow certain content creators and copy their programs or focus on whatever trendy new lift they are shilling this month) are constantly experiencing FOMO, analysis paralysis, program hopping, etc. resulting in poor results.
>>76581250This is satire right?
>>76583538Autism test
>>76581095Turns out stretch and all these meme gimmicks from the soience crowd don't make you big. Moving heavy weight makes you big. They're also averse to bulking so they can't put on much mass.
>>76581095Don't knowDon't care Gonna do three plate ego lift shrugs today and I don't give a single fuck
>>76582872>cablesexactly. cable machine is goated, the rest are tertiary at best.
>>76581218this but unironically
>>76583635wait till this retard finds out this IS consistent with science and stops doing it to "make science people seethe"
>>76581095Lol, because it's not "science based lifting". It's Dyels making an excuse to lift weak and stall. I've been lifting almost 19 years, ive never hurt myself lifting, but there are days when I think about having to get two 110 dumbbells, balance them push off, and do 4 sets of dumbbell press, I am less than enthused about my workout those days. So these pussies who insist on form, but never worked out proprr dumbbell or barbell form choose the easy workout, it's just like the girl doing the meme workout on the boxes. They saw something online that looked easy so they chose it. Unfortunately there is no substitute for hard work, and these people get neither esthetics or functional strength, so it's not something to be envied or emulated. I mean come on the Dyel in this video, only posted it because otherwise nobody even asks if he works out nor believes it.
>>76581095In the past decade I've been lifting I can tell you that only the people who truly enjoy lifting get results. Im talking becoming so dizzy you start seeing Arnold and Mentzer arguing. Results come out of the extreme enjoyment you get from lifting heavy.People who fake it just because they are anxious or people who obviously come to the gym to go through the motions never get any results natty...
>>76582784Lifting for hypertrophy is mostly solved. Lifting for athleticism has seen some real gains the last decade or so.
>>76582784It has. We now know about how roids turn you trans and how working out intensely less often is better than autistically getting everything perfect.
>>76581218I do, actually.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cgetjk9IHbo
