Rdls are what non-powershitters should be doing most of the time. Basically hits 80% of the relevant muscles while being half as exhausting. Also you can do them off a rack so it saves a lot of time too.

RDLs are like half the weight of conventional deadlifts because you do them for 8-12 reps. So conventional deads are more fun from monke brain "haha heavy thing move" perspective. They also grow you upper traps decently which RDLs barely touch.

Can confirm, I did only RDLs for around 2 years then I deadlifted for three weeks and I got to 5 plates without much effort or a specific program (with terrible form but I didn't ACK). Normally I RDL 10Kg less than 4 plates whatever it is

There aren't a lot of good knee flexion hamstring exercises that don't use machines. Dumbbell hamstring curls are too hard to set up and seem kind of unsafe.

The weight keeps you from falling over dumdum, it stays over mid foot if you're doing it right. Obviously you don't have your knees locked out 100%, but you just keep pushing your butt back further. There's people doing snatch grip rdl to right above the floor, sounds like a skill issue for you

Stiff-legged deadlift is superior, anyhow. Hits hamstrings better than anything else and also hits glutes and lower back decently enough.
