My mother is gonna be on 70mg prednisone everyday for a month.Whzt should i be checking for ?
>>76582761I was on it for 6 months, it’s a horrible drug. Cravings, weight gain, mood swings with anger, insomnia, muscle weakness. It’s important that she take it only in the morning and that she gets lots of calcium and still exercises because it also fucks with your bones. Help her wean off ASAP. What is she using it for?
>>76582987Auto immune encephalopathy.
Bump
If anyone had experience with that shit, please aware me. She's gonna be on 60-80mg everyday.
>>76583047Yeah that’s rough. She really needs to adopt a plant based anti-inflammatory diet right now and be super strict about it. Also look into curcumin, ginger, and Boswellia serrata. Preferably try to get her something that contains all three to help reduce the inflammation naturally so she can come off the prednisone safely. ALA is very good for neuro inflammation, there is a formulation called Poly-MVA which is expensive but worth it because it really works to reduce flares.
>>76582761She's going to lose or crack a lot of her teeth on that high a dosage unless she just doesn't eat anything solid during that time. That's the main thing that I hated about being on it. I don't know how the fuck this is so commonly prescribed when it actively destroys your body in such ways.
>>76583421What the fuck ? Thats fucking new. Why ?
>>76583429Like the other poster said, it fucks with your bones. All the drug essentially does is turn off your immune system while you're on it. This stops your cells from breaking down and reconstructing properly. It's meant for people that have heavily compromised immune systems that are already harming them worse than what this extremely powerful drug can do. That's why it's fucked up that doctors hand it out like candy and sell it as if it's a common painkiller. I was given it while in the hospital for an Ulcerative Colitis flare to stop my colon from tearing itself apart and bleeding every single day. It did do that in a couple of days on a similar dosage to what your mother is taking. This is a drastic measure that should only be taken if you are knocking on death's door. Even small dosages stay in your system for quite a long time and in no world is it necessary for someone to take it every single day for that long. That's how doctors prescribe it though because they want you to become dependent on it.I can almost guarantee that once you visit the doctor again at the end of the month, he's going to tell her to wean off it slowly by slightly lowering the dosage every week. I'm here to tell you that's bullshit. Microdosing is just going to make you feel worse and make you miss how you felt when you first started. This is literal drug dealer psychology they are trained to use to keep you hooked. Once she gets the word that the inflammation has cleared up, tell her to stop taking this shit cold turkey.
>>76583507She's suffering from a dementia state caused by her thyroïde, look up SREAT.Are you sure about the tapering ? What were the side effects ? What do you recommend she takes additionally ?
>>76583569i would rather listen to a doctor than a random retard on 4chan. i suggest you do the same
>>76583569If what was described in first post of this thread is preferable to whatever symptoms she has, she should keep taking it. There are certain people out there that cannot function without these kinds of drugs because of how much pain they're in constantly. I'm just saying that I was not one of those people and there are plenty alternative and better treatments that should be explored before you rely on this. This shit will turn you into an addict if you aren't careful and it will destroy your body regardless whenever you take it. That's why you shouldn't be on it long term. >>76583582All doctors have an agenda and they will not hesitate to lie to you to line their pockets. They prey on your loyalty to them and get you to trust them as they pump hard, judgement clouding drugs down your throat. If you don't want listen to anecdotes on 4chan, you should at least get a second opinion from another doctor that isn't your main practitioner. They have less reason to lie to you if you aren't a regular patient.
>>7658276170 is alotjust lie to the doctor and do 20 instead
>>76583569Don’t listen to that anon. Tapering is essential for the amount of time she will be on it. Your body’s adrenal glands stop functioning on that high of a dose and if you stop cold turkey it can really fuck you up. Your adrenals come back on line with a 10mg dose or lower, so once she hits like 5mg per day she can stop cold turkey.
>>76583639Cheers
I had to use it for my eyes
>>76582761I've been taking prednisone every day for the past 15 years, the edema is horrible, it makes me feel bloated as fuck, sometimes I feel like a water ballon about to pop, and sometimes it pools in my feet/legs which makes them look huge.and doctors say it has nothing to with it but I think it fucks with my heart rate, it gives me palpitations all over and it sucks.there's a chance that I have cushing syndrome but I guess we'll never know because I'm lean as fuck so there's no way to check really.other than that I'm good I think.
I was on pred earlier this year for ulcerative colitis. I didnt get the emotional side effects but i didnt really sleep, started but never finished quite a few projects, spent quite a bit of money and also my appetite was insane. Ngl made me understand fat people a bit more. I took calcium alongside. Not particularly worried about my bones (i guess the lifting helped with that) but you wouldnt want to use it year round. Tapering is legit btw. I was on 40mg for a little bit, 70mg sounds like things could get wacky.
