I'm going to be going to a popular and cheap commercial gym in Houston, Texas (24 Hour Fitness) to do some lifting and swimming. Anything to keep in mind? It's my first time going to a gym in this city.

Just be aware of the gym bullies that roam these types of gyms these days. If you are not tough enough they will push your head in the toilet and take your lunch money. It's better to find a gym buddy quickly for the sake of protection.

Then it's really a question of how quickly you can roid yourself up to the top of the food chain.
