How do you do lats without barbell rows which are terrible?

Hard mode, no pull ups.

What does MET stand for?
I do most of that except for bench. No sandbags yet, but I'm planning to get them eventually.
My routine:
A
weighted pullups (fatgrips)
weighted dips on rings
front squats (though i'm rather conservative with the weight)
weighted back extensions
lateral raises (fatgrips)
standing french press with a short barbell (fatgrips)
hanging leg raises (fatgrips)
wrist roller

B
weighted australian pullups on rings (fatgrips)
1 arm ohp with dumbbell
db kroc row (fatgrips)
weighted pushups on handles
curls with neutral grip barbell (fatgrips)
ab roller
weighted ring flyes (mostly pump work, not going heavy)

C (sub-day)
calf raises with a db (fatgrips)
pullups on wooden balls

Each one is done once a week with high intensity and mostly to failure with rest pause.
Basically MET (whatever that is) meets MEnTzer, though I hope I haven't been MEmed hard.
>>
>>76587067

Stupid. Squats will kill your spine while bench will kill you when barbell ends on your neck.
If you want home gym then buy dumbbell and do single arm exercises.

Also, what do you think about street workout and street gyms? They exist in Europe.

High bar squat can still damage your spine and joints.
For legs you can do one leg exercises (circus tricks) without risking the spine.

>>76587156

If exercise destroys your spine just because you don't have perfect form, then it's dangerous and should be replaced with different exercise.

I am already using backpack like that. But I put concrete blocks and bricks inside. Iron plates would be better, they are denser than concrete, but more expensive.

Saar or you can just make a couple hundred bucks extra and just buy a fucking barbell saar. Also very quickly you'll reach full capacity with your backpack especially if you don't even have plates. I got to something like +25 lb with water bottles and my backpack was basically full at that point

if grip doesn't bottleneck you it's fine but honestly just do a couple of sets of grippers or something

> pic rel but with a neutral grip barbell
pic rel never came

> I know it looks weird but I always wanted big forearms yet the fate tries to leave me a forearmlet, I'm fighting the odds
yeah I'd just do 3+ sets of good forearms exercises every day or 6/7. Stuff like grippers, dumbbell wrist curls etc

> just a regular db row variation, though here fatgrips to be a very limiting factor, bc I go quite heavy
yeah again, just do separate grip work. Otherwise you're getting shit stimulus for both

For 200 you can buy 80 kg / 176 lb of iron plates. This is too little for squats.
>Also very quickly you'll reach full capacity with your backpack especially if you don't even have plates. I got to something like +25 lb with water bottles and my backpack was basically full at that point
Water has low density, I am using concrete and bricks, they have density 3 times bigger than water or even more.

>For hams obviously nordic curls
I am doing single leg deadlifts. I might do nordic curls in the future.

>>76587841
>They still load your spine and because they require balance there's MORE risk of bs happening
They load nothing, you need few times less weight for single leg squat compared to dual leg squat.

Street workout doesn't require any equipment but you can buy backpack and put concrete into it, then pull ups and dips.

Unless you're 98 years old it's literally impossible to load them enough even with backpack full of concrete

>They load nothing, you need few times less weight for single leg squat compared to dual leg squat.
Not few times, two times. But the bigger point is that the glassback mentality is simply wrong and injuries in powerlifting are LOWER THAN IN ANY SPORT aside from bodybuilding.
>>
>>76590379
I just did them recently with 17 kg (37 lb) of concrete. Only could do few reps. Trained to failure.
But I didn't put backpack on my back, I was holding it with my arms.

I've seen pictures of some but ultimately adjustable dumbbells are 100% better since kettlebells are just shit dumbbells to begin with
>>

> 17 kg deadlifts

What. The. Fuck. I wanna see your body
>>
>>76590385
>Not few times, two times.
squat = 150lb body + 200lb barbell = 350lb and 175lb per leg
pistol squat = 150lb body + 100lb extra weight = 250lb and 250lb per leg
It's more than two times difference when you account body weight.
>But the bigger point i€s that the glassback mentality is simply wrong and injuries in powerlifting are LOWER THAN IN ANY SPORT aside from bodybuilding.
This is true but why take more risk when you can do safer alternatives. Also, squats and deadlifts are very expensive to do if you don't go to gym but have home gym.
>>
>>76590438
Learn to read, I am talking about single leg deadlift. If I did double leg I would do many times more than 17 kg.
>>
>>76590440
>This is true but why take more risk when you can do safer alternatives.
Because it also carries more reward making you overall stronger and more resilient protecting against injuries and weakness that's gonna creep in after ~60.
> Also, squats and deadlifts are very expensive to do if you don't go to gym but have home gym.
I paid maybe 200 usd if that buying used equipment. And if you're patient you can find even better deals. Somebody was literally giving away an entire power cage for free that I didnt bother to pick up

99% of that is BARBELL HEAVY BASICS. And then one you have a legit strength base you can start adding strongman movements or sandbag stuff

>Panzram wrote that he was "the spirit of meanness personified[10]" and that he would often rape men whom he had robbed. He was noted for his large stature and great physical strength—due to years of hard labor at Leavenworth and other prisons—which aided him in overpowering most men

>I did only 200 lb because of my grip strength.
See even that is inconsistent with 17 fucking kilos for a few reps to failure. That's the problem with meme lifts - failure is due to balance or delusion.

I think you are wrong and prejudiced. Exercises such as pistol squat or single leg deadlift can load your muscles with more efficiency, they are harder.
When I finished single leg deadlift I felt pain and tension in hamstrings. The exercise really works.
You think 17 kg is little but you forget that the leg was also lifting body weight.

Nothing against these exercises in particular but they have to be overloaded and trained close to failure and people very often bullshit themselves into doing "hard" but far from failure workouts.

Lmaoing at your life
>>
>>76592075
I very much disagree. There’s no better exercise for the whole posterior chain than a heavy sandbag lift. No barbell lift comes close.
I do calisthenics and isolations with bands but if I had access I’d probably use dbs and machines for that.

You see sandbags are just really efficient. To emulate a sandbag lift you’d have to do a bunch of different lifts. Deficit deadlifts, zercher squats, bicep curls, reverse curls, wrist curls with a fat grip to emulate the open finger position, pec flies for squeezing, rows or pull ups for pulling it in, unilateral variations to emulate the shoulder position, loaded carries, and it STILL wouldn’t be as effective as the real thing. It’s an exercise in futility. I’m just trying to save anons money and time here.
>>
>>76592626
I mean in that sense if your goal is to minimize time and money spent sure. Just keep in mind that the stimulus each muscle is getting is highly suboptimal. You'll make gains until a certain point and then it'll really slow down
>>

Either actual schizo or some loser troll who thinks it's good investment of his time. He's been doing this for over a year now.

But the worst part is - the reason we haven't had these threads in a while is because the original OP quit after seeing that janny was literally helping the spammer. He would never ban/delete the obvious samefag despite multiple violations but the moment OP called it out the whole thread got wiped for no reason. Then he made a meta thread about wtf just happened with all the screenshots - and that got deleted and I assume he got banned and left the board.
Eventually I was like fuck it somebody has to make these.

I'm so fucking glad these faggot jannies are gone. At this point there's no debate that they were actively working to make this site worse.

That's a good point. In the original post, OP neglected to answer the following:

Sounds like a good way to contribute to your own thread to start a dialog.

>/run/ posts times
>/cbt/ posts body
>/fat/ posts calories (I assume)
>/fph/ posts globlinx

Bought chalk only to discover my forearms still limit deadlifts but hey at least not as much.

Here's my current program:
> 1xDL, 5xRDL + 1xBabrell curls
> 5xBench + 1xNeck curls
> 5xUnderhand weighted pullups + 1xZercher Jefferson deadlifts
> 5xHB Squats + 1xBarbell upright rows
> 1xOHP, 1xBarbell rows, 1xRussian twists, 1xBarbell side bends

What triggers my autism is I never know where to put each accessory so they don't fuck up my performance on core lifts
>>
>>76594400

That's kinda the plan to do joogs after upper days and punch ze bag after lower day but realistically I cant even always do core lifts

I do that before eating sometimes but regardless of training

Deadlift is retarded, stop doing it.

So also cardio
>>
>>76594684
No, muscular endurance / strength endurance, is different from cardio. Cardio is when you walk or slowly ride a bicycle, for long distance. Muscular endurance is when you do something and you can do 15-50 reps or one minute. Compared to this, cardio you can do infinitely, for hours.
>>
>>76594684
No.

Actually it ain't. It's literally cardio + strength.

I have also a few extra items like ab roller, wrist roller, grippers, rubber bands and other shit like that that can be stored in a single drawer.
I also have a back extension bench that actually takes up some space but seemed rehabilitate my busted lower back (from heavy bb compounds in actual gyms, no less), so I don't regret getting it rather than a bench.
I could replace this pullup bar with a cage setup that would allow me to bench, squat and so on, but I'm staying away from it on purpose. Less weights needed means less mess and less space needed, hence I'm all about weighted calisthenics and stuff like 1 arm DB OHP. It's just safer and more convenient.
>>
>>76597165
how do you call your psychiatrist?
>>
>>76597171
Based. Has pull ups, dips, one dumbbell. Everything that is needed.
I will have similar setup but without rings for dips, I am doing dips on two chairs, I hope they won't break.

>>76598333
>hyperfixation on squats and other compound was more of a mistake and I deal with the consequences to this day
what happened?

> no clue about 1rm but i'm doing 37.5kg for clean reps
is it like half of ohp in terms of weight or is it harder?
>>
>>76598367
>what happened?
fucked my lower back, probably herniated a couple discs, it got better with time (meaning years), lower back extensions have helped a lot, but any exercise that's likely to give you such an injury might have a bad risk-reward ratio, because realistically what will heavy squats bring you that safer exercises cannot? there's not much use for being able to squat a shitload on a barbell and a lot to lose if your spine goes to the snap city
>is it like half of ohp in terms of weight or is it harder?
prolly harder just like any other db variant, pressing 50kg dbs on a bench is harder than benching 2 plates on a barbell and if I remember correctly OHpressing 75kg was easier than that
>>
>he's still talking to himself
>>
>>76598502
>what will heavy squats bring you that safer exercises cannot?
bmd, bigger and stronger ligaments and tendons, more stable joints; higher general strength
>>
>>76598584
Wrong, pistol squats will load your legs (including tendons) as hard as dual leg squats, the difference is pistol squat will save your spine, you don't need to load it as heavily.
