Every time I do any exercise involving my abs a lot, i'll be left with a lingering pain in the right side of my abdomen from hours to days on end. I've had this issue for 5 years now, and in all the doctors visits they've found nothing. (ct scans, upper endoscopy, physician exams) it's ruined my life to some degree, pls /fit/ give me an answer

Biliary sludge, maybe. Try cutting fats and seeing if it gets better after a week. If you get white grains in your shit then that's almost certainly the answer.

I figured out it's just from exercise, the problem doesn't come from diet

Have you worked with a physical therapist yet? If not, I'd ask your physician about getting a referral.

no i havent. I do feel stupid for going to so many random doctors and specialists and not getting anywhere though. maybe ill try that

Exercise involving your abs? Do you do abs isolation work?
When I got to higher loads on my deadlifts, I felt quite a sharp pain in my abs, just under the ribs on the right side.
It went away when I started doing ab isolation exercises, so I guess my abs (muscles and tendons) were just very weak and were overworked from bracing.
Ab-wheel, russian twists, dragon flags, leg/knee raises, oblique crunches were my choices.

is that like a chronic pain? mine is more like a constant dull pain that lasts for days after

Not chronic, it only happened after I lifted heavy and had to brace. It also lasted a few days after the lift. After I started the ab isolations, it went away completely and has never come back.
I didn't take a break from heavy lifts, just did both concurrently.

ok ill try that. is L-sit a good one? i get my pain from it though

L-sit has very short range of motion. Hanging knee raises have a greater ROM, have you ever tried them? Working the muscle through as full a ROM as possible makes it stronger in the entirety of that range.
Does the pain from a L-Sit and the pain from other ab work happen in the same spot?

when i was at my strongest i could do a lot of hanging leg raises, but that was also when my pain was the worst. my pain is always under my right rib as well

I see. Have you ever done ab-wheels or crunches, weighted or machine?
What about rotation and oblique work, russian twists, oblique crunches?

i got really into oblique stuff since thats on the pain point, but it really only made things worse.
