I went for a walk for the first time and went for 5 miles. I genuinely can't stand up. How long will this last?

Eat something, preferably with lots of protein and some carbs, and go to sleep. It will be better.

how old are you, 3?

A walk for only 5 miles? Thats what I would do every weekday when commuting to college. How fucking fat are you??

>I went for a walk for the first time
You must be 18 months old to post on 4chan.

I remember the first time I did heavy squats my legs could not work for the rest of the day. I had to go directly from my chair to my bed using my arms, if I even tried to stand I collapsed.
The first day of two will be bad, but get a lot of rest, your legs will be sore for a while though.

Good job, faggot. Rest a day then do it again. You will find that your body quickly adapts and in two weeks you'll be feeling restless if you *don't* walk 5 miles. Make sure you have comfy shoes and socks, and strap in for the long haul. I've walked every day for three months and the general appearance of my body has improved tremendously, as well as my general fitness level and bloodwork.

Are you a toddler?

The actual pain from the walk? Like an hour. How long until you have the endurance this doesn't happen? Like a week or two. A month from now you'll be fine. It's crazy how fast humans make endurance gains. it's one thing to say humans are some of, if not, the best endurance animals on the planet but until you experience it yourself and go from "I can't walk" to "I can walk forever" in the blink of an eye you won't get it.

hang in there bro. I remember getting into walking and it tore my feet up like a bitch. Now I can walk pretty much forever the only limiting factor is water/dehydration. Gotta have a drink after 10 miles or so

if you're healthy, it should be 1-2 days until you can move properly, and a week until the pain is gone.
Then again, if you're healthy, 5 miles shouldn't be a problem, so I don't know for sure - my point of reference are rucks of 30-50km / day.

Don't walk for distance, walk for time. Let your distance increase naturally as your pace naturally picks up. Start with 20-30 minutes and add 10 minutes every week.

Wear good shoes, make sure you're hydrated before you start, and bring water to sip along the way.

Give it time. There's no rush.

I walk 3 miles uphill to work every day and 3 miles downhill on the same route. It got easy after the first few weeks but what I've noticed is that I still get just as fatigued after like 8+ years of doing it. Of course, that's not the only walking I do during the day, and I have a physically demanding job, but you'd think that after a while I wouldn't notice the fatigue anymore. Is that weird or normal?

>I went for a walk for the first time
anons are getting younger by the day.
By this time next year we might have OP's telling us they're about to eat for the first time and asking for macro advice.

try alternating walking backwards wjen you get fatigued it's like a whole new world. i used to do backwards sprints to mix up the lengthy walk sessions
