What is your favorite kettlebell program? Mine was Total Tension Complex, but I have been doing DFW recently and it's going well. What programs have you done? What were the positives/negatives? Did you add any volume or use any tools other than kettlebells?
>>76611116Kettles are retarded. Either go calisthenics or regular weights.
>>76611116I mostly just press mine
>>76611116Easy Strength, A&A, or the Wildman clean and press program are good.
>>76611116>Total Tension ComplexWhats this?
>>76611116I'm fairly new to kettlebells, and I've been doing S+S with power pushups. Pretty nice routine.
>>76611116Can you build chest at all with these? I've seen those weird pushups off the bell but what's the difference between that and normal pushups?
>>76611990try it and find out
>>76611992What kind of answer is that? You just want to hurt anons gains by making him do a retarded exercise that is worse in every way to normal bb/db exercises.
>>76611990Unfortunately kettlebells suck for chest. You could bench press double kettlebells, like a DB bench but you use KBs i guess.Pushups and dips are good.
>>76611990I usually do power pushups for chest. Works fairly well. They are an underrated exercise.
>>76611990Do you want to grow titties? Big ol man titties like Ahnold? You get a stretch stimulus that you can milk with single overhead presses and bent presses. Not everyone wants to look like a bodybuilder. The standard kettlebell exercises like swing, snatch, and clean and press do not generally cause focused hypertrophy like bodybuilding does. They do build work capacity, reinforcing whole kinetic chains and cardio. I used to use them solely as metabolic conditioning to augment other fitness aspects and all around health and movement. I use them nearly exclusively now because as an old guy, work capacity and all around strength matter more than being swole. Still plenty jacked, but I never cared for man titties since I'm rather barrel chested anyway. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
My bicep is tweaked from a bad blood donation, the fat Mexican dude doesnt understand needles. Will 2 handed kettlebell swings snap my shit up?
>>76611116armor building complex.simplicity and it feels really good. dan john describes it as "bodybuilding for athletes" which is exactly how it feels.
>>76612094I'm curious about the other day of the ABF. doing 100 presses each side... definitely not happening for me.
>>76611257I like them for curls and tri kickbacks since db is too wide and bangs on my hip
>>76611990They're not as good as a barbell and bench. But if you don't have a barbell and bench it's not that hard to floor press them.
>>76611781It's a free program by Pavel. Clean, press, front squat, and renegade row (surprise). What makes it unique is the rep scheme and the weekly layout. I really liked it and it got me from pressing 2x28kgs to 2x32kgs.
>>76612167>Clean, press, front squat, and renegade rowIn a circuit? Or C+P+S followed by some rows? I thought I knew all of Pavel's programs. Is it one of his A+A schemes?
>>76612213No. The workout each day involves a complex of clean + press + front squat + renegade row, all basing at one rep. Then depending on which day of the week it is you take one of those exercises in the complex up in reps and keep the other at one. For example one day you do more front squats, and another day, more presses. What I found is that it is basically an alternating Heavy/Light day per exercise. You can do 3x/week ABA or 2x per week AB schedule and both will make you gains. It is a deceptively simple but really solid program. I put on a lot of mass in my shoulders, quads, and posterior chain after doing it for 8 weeks. It's on the StrongFirst website, check it out.
>>7661111675 swings/day
>>76612292Thats pretty cool. Ive been playing with my own complexes, but never thought to add rows for some reason.
bump!
