About 500 €
>What is the total cost of your hobby?
About 3k € this year
>>
>>76611828
Hey! Get that shit off my fucking hardwoods right now you savage! I will not tolerate that in my home!
>>
Rack, bench, barbell + 240kg weights, 2 dumbbells, lat pulldown machine, hyperextention bench for around 2500 euros
0 spent on gyms
100 euros for vitamins per year. Creatine, protein and vitamins are the only things worth it, everything else is a scam.
Considering the yearly sub for even the shittiest gym is 300 euros here, its a pretty good deal.
>>
>>76611884
>around 2500 euros
I have spent 100 and can train almost everything you can, all muscles.
But I am poor, maybe you are rich.
>the yearly sub for even the shittiest gym is 300 euros here
I am Slavic and gyms here are more expensive, you have to pay 30-40 euros per month.
>>
>>76611840
It's 1500, not 3k.
>>
>>76611912
>all muscles
even your heart?
>>
>>76611983
I also counted in shoes and clothes and what not
>>
>>76611912
2500 for a once in a lifetime purchase is not much and you don't need to buy everything at once. Even if you have to move to another country you can sell everything pretty easy for a minor loss.
Normal gyms start from 400 euros a year and if you shop smart you can get all you need for around 1500 euros, its a no brainer if you have the space for it.
Home gym is worth it just for the time it saves you, let alone all the other benefits.
>>
>>76611849
Thats a 3D render
>>
>>76611988
I do not train cardio right now, but I could without equipment. You can run or jump or something.

>>76611996
>2500 for a once in a lifetime purchase is not much and you don't need to buy everything at once.
You can also sell your equipment if you will lose interest and stop training.
>Normal gyms start from 400 euros a year and if you shop smart you can get all you need for around 1500 euros
No, you can get everything for 150 euros if you are not a powersharter that will spam 300 kg squats and deadlifts. Stop being a powersharter, stop being fat.
>Home gym is worth it just for the time it saves you, let alone all the other benefits.
But you can't make friends and sluts at home gym.
>>
I bought 1 kettlebell for like £30 but it's too big and hurt my back I should have gone for the smaller one.

I got some running shoes for my birthday from my brother so they were free.
>>
>>76612286
I don't like kettlebells because they are not adjustable, dumbbells are adjustable.
>>
>>76611828
>shitty standard barbell i got from my dad
>came with a fuckton of 10s 5s 2.5s and adjustable dbs and bench
>botted a shitty power rack off amazon
>boughted an 3 35s and an 45
>bot one pullup stand just cause
the power rack was 122, the weights were 400 total, the pull up stand was 120 i also bot some micro plates. inb4 nnoooooooooo you CANT use a standard barbell with that, cope i lift more than you and have never once had an issue. a standard barbell with all those weights is 161 on amazon, bench is about 50 so about 700 for a fully functioning gym that you will never max out and if you want to roid or powerbloat and outgain your kit for whatever reason you can easily sell your shit
>>
Do you invite friends to your home gym?
>>
>>76611828
I’ve probably out about $1.5k USD into my home gym
>power rack, adjustable bench, padded bench for sit-ups, good mornings
>4x horse stall mats
>2 barbells, ~500lbs in weight plates, including bumper 10s, 25s, 35s and 45s
>2 dumbbell handles and ~60lb of weight for each
>exercise band set
I probably spent about $2k on commercial gyms but haven’t spent any since building my home gym
I’ve spent probably $1k on protein powder in my life
So all in all about $3.5k
>>
>>76612613
>2 barbells, ~500lbs in weight plates, including bumper 10s, 25s, 35s and 45s
>2 dumbbell handles and ~60lb of weight for each
Your barbell and dumbbell are incompatible and you need separate weights?
>adjustable bench
Does it have safeties or the barbell will land on your neck one day?
>>
>>76612635
Not him but 2" oly plates are several times cheaper if you buy bumpers instead of iron. DB handles can be 1" or 2", but either way you can only fit 2.5/5/10lb iron plates on them. There's not much overlap between DB handle weights and what you need for barbell, and even if you buy bumpers for bigger plates you still need iron for the smaller 2.5/5lbs. Also many people just get nicer adjustable dumbbells like powerblocks, snodes, or ironmasters.
Home gym benches don't have safeties unless it's some stupid gimmick. If you want safeties then bench in a rack. You don't need them, it's not hard to dump to the side or roll it down to your hips.
>>
>>76611828
>home gym
~1200 for treadmill
~900 for dumbells
~400 for power cage+bench
~350 on weights (sell steel ones and use the money to upgrade to bumpers if you have a concrete floor and no mats like me)
~120 for my 100lb punching bag and stand
~100 for various barbells
75 for hamstring and leg curl machine
So ~3K all in. That of course took years to build up and most of it isn't needed and you can do most of what i can with a set of bumbells and a power cage with weights. The cool think is that once you have it, you have it and you dont need to spend more money, with the exception of the eventual maintenance that the treadmill will need

I don't count protein since its like asking me what I spend on groceries.
>>
Probably around $10k - $15k or so.
>>
>half rack with plate storage - 350
>adjustable bench - 400
>barbell - 350 (stainless steel)
>45lb x8 25lb x2 10lb x4 crumb bumpers - 460
>5lb x2, 2.5lb x2 iron plates - 25
>adjustable dumbbells 120lbs x2 - 1100
>back extension - 100
>horse stall mat 4'x6' x4 - 160
About 3k. Also other little things like powerhooks to hang dumbbells on a racked barbell for benching, barbell clips, a yoga mat, weight belt for pullups.
>>
>>76612563
Yeah, it's pretty fun when I'm working out with homeboy and my other friend that sits around and drinks all day get annoyed that we are doing anything besides drinking
>>
>>76611828
>power rack
>four olympic bars
>450kg in cast plate
>250kg in bumpers
>200kg in 1" plate I use for dumbbells and cable on rack / hanging from rafters
>32-50kg rubber dumbbells
>strong man log, farmers walk handles, yolk, sandbags, concrete "stones", Viking press on the side of an out building
>Couple of benches, sit up bench, sissy squat, power tower, fingerboard, chains, power bands, several different attachments for cables, decent jump box, speedball, 60kg heavy bag, gloves, battle ropes, probably some other shit
Maybe owes me £1500 as I sold a load of 1" plate and a leg press during covid for a lot, and trade plate, buy cheap, sell double the price, and most of my gear is second hand.
>gyms
£600 in 30 years of lifting

Maybe £100 a year on vitamins and the like

like $300 a year for the city community fitness center

Too expensive. Why are Americans like that?

>>76612936
Can you lift 450kg?
>>
>>76613009
It's okay, you're still a dyel getting the hang of the bench. It's only natural to panic on a failed rep and put the bar over your neck without locking out your elbows. That's how everyone starts out, but you should really try to kill that habit before you reach real weight and hurt yourself.
>>
>>76613009
lol it's another weak foreigner
>>
>>76611828
Probably less than $300 on my equipment years ago. I don't often buy supplements, but probably spent $50 on Boost drinks and some protein powder.
>>
>>76613009
>Too expensive. Why are Americans like that?
I can afford it tirdie
>>
>>76613009
>Can you lift 450kg?
All at once? Nope. But I can leave my Viking press, squat bar and a bar for power cleans set up and ready to go, and picked up the weights for half the price I can sell them for if I wanted cash for something else, which I likely won't, as Im not poor.
>>
>>76611828
Less than $1000.
>>
>>76611828
Have some amazon home shit. Probably like 150 dollars. Otherwise use the gym at the apartment place I live.

So 150 overall. I've spent whey more on protein shakes
>>
>>76614156
>picked up the weights for half the price
In Slavic country I checked and used weights were sold for higher price than new, so I picked new.
>>
>>76611828

>How much dollarinos have you spent on home gym?
See picrelated, and add to that some 150 bucks for vaguely fitness-related hobby stuff like juggling props, a balance platform and a skateboard
>How much dollarinos have you spent on commercial gyms?
- 10 bucks this year for 2 months of membership (they had a special Spring offer)
- about 100 bucks per year for swimming sessions at the public pool
>How much dollarinos have you spent on steroids
0
>and supplements?
- 15 bucks per year on TMG
- 5/yr on magnesium citrate
- 5/yr on potassium citrate
I don't track how much I spend on vitamins and protein.

Is that Warwick Davis' squat rack ?
>>
I bought a squat stand, bar, weights, bench, and rubber mat 10ish years ago
It has saved me 10 years of gym fees plus got me to lift more often
I bought Rogue stuff so it cost more than it needed to. I also had to recently buy the plates over again since some tweaker fuck stole all my weights on Thanksgiving
>>
>>76614570
Based equipment.
But you don't have enough weights for deadlift, unless you meant single leg.

>adjustable dumbbells - 350
>adjustable bench - 250
>pullup bar - 15
>stationary bike - 250
Takes up almost no room in my 980 sq ft apartment. dumbbells go under bench, bar on top of bench, bike has wheels and I role into corner next to bench in my office.
Sounds like a lot of money, but I bought all of these maybe 4 years ago so they've paid themselves off already. I didn't think I'd make much progress but just this alone has a huge amount of impact on my gains/goals.
I do PPL 6 days/week, the only thing I've maxed really is a full on squat (e.g., goblet squat), but there are variations which I still haven't maxed out and getting stronger on. I wish I bought up to 100lbs per dumbbell instead of 50, but its still working fine (to be clear, I've been fairly light on my progress over the years, mainly trying to build a little muscle and maintain fitness, not necessary lift as heavy as possible).
Noticeable gains; co-workers mention I look like I lift without me mentioning that I had started working out, even if I don't see it, its noticeable.
Stationary bike is awesome. Cheap chinese one on Amazon with a magnetic wheel. Youtube has free "cycling through the alps/wherever the hell you want to cycle" video from first-person, I turn it into a bootleg Peleton, and adjust the magnetic wheel weight based off the video (going uphill? Turn it up. Going downhill? turn way down, etc). Its stupidly fun, I started out 30 min/day cycling at medium-high heart rate, now I cycle 1 hr + on weekends (can't during weekday due to time, so still 30 min/day). I lift in the morning, and cycle in the evening.
Lost 50lbs using only this (and counting calories). I'm super fit by normie standards. Not close to powerlifter/bodybuilder fit, but its seriously awesome. I'm moving to a new house next year and will actually put in a proper gym (power rack + barbell + free weights budgeted to start), but damn if my little gym isn't the best investment I've ever made.

My most effective and minimalist gym setup consisted of just a barbell and a few hundred pounds of plates. With no rack or benches, all of my lifts were performed directly from the floor.

This method allowed me to focus on core movements, including **deadlifts**, **cleans**, and **overhead presses**. I even performed **back squats** by pressing the barbell overhead and then lowering it onto my shoulders in a controlled motion.

While this approach isn't ideal for setting squat personal records, it added a new dimension to my overhead press training. The act of cleaning the weight before the press naturally incorporated the **power clean**, which greatly enhanced my overall strength.

This simple setup also included a pull-up bar, which I resourcefully installed by suspending it between two steel trusses above a suspended ceiling in my office. The only cost was the price of the bar, plates, and the pull-up bar itself.

>How much dollarinos have you spent on home gym?
Around $1000 but that's almost entirely from a rowing machine, I don't really have a full home gym. I do have a kettlebell and some resistance bands besides the erg.
>How much dollarinos have you spent on commercial gyms?
I think around 4500, I had memberships for a long time, but currently 0 because the place I work has a free gym for employees
>How much dollarinos have you spent on steroids and supplements?
Don't take any unless you count protein powder but imo that's more "food" than "supplement". But one of the big tubs lasts almost a full year for me and it's 80 bucks on Amazon right now. So 80 a year I guess
>What is the total cost of your hobby?
Running shoes are the main cost that's not in one of the other categories and I've spent about $500 in the last year.
I'd ballpark total fitness costs as around $7k over the last 8 years but the free work gym is going to make it a lot less over the next 8.
>>
>>76611828
1700 on rack with weights and bench
75 barbell
300 on adjustable dumbbells
600 on exercise bike
100 for yoga mat, rings, resistance bands
200 for flooring so I don't fuck up the tile
i will get fit one day...
>>
10 dollars
>>
>>76611828
Maybe about $1000. I have a dumbbell set, a bench, a bike, and a pull-up bar.
>>
>Can't remember how much I spent on a weighted vest but a fairly trivial amount lets call it £25
>in lockdown i bought a pair of adjustable dumbbells up to 30kg each for £118, an 8kg and 12kg kettlebell for my wife for £55 total, a 20kg bulgarian bag* for £20, a set of resistance bands for £30 and acquired 2x 20kg kettlebells* that had been 'in the family' for some time
>early last year i started doing a home gym
>got squat stands, 140kg in bumpers, a multi grip chin up bar, wall mounted weight stands and some gravity boot things for £300. ngl i only used the stands and plates*
>ordered an ez bar + 27.5kg worth of smaller plates, a barbell and some collars for £270
>then a seal row bench for £270
>chin up/dip station for £140
>then some more small plates for £30
>my mother in law got me some farmers walk handles as a gift. I think these were about £120
>got a back extension bench for £200
>got a better squat/bench rack for £150
>got a 4kg club, 12kg club, 20kg club and a 4.5kg mace for £180
>found a spin lock dumbbell and plates i got as a teenager, so bought 10kg worth of plates for it for £30
>got an assault air bike classic (missing the electronic screen display) for £120. the guy was also selling a 15kg slam ball for £15 so got that too*
>found a punch bag on the road but haven't hung it up yet*
>friend gave me a 50kg sandbag but not filled it up yet*

total is £1993. That is £104 a month since home gym started. I would like a belt squat machine, a trap bar, some heavier kettlebells and some olympic dumbbells. I'd love some kind of cable machine but I'm not sure that's doable. *items i got second hand/found/gifted
>>
Under $1000 for a full cage, bench, Olympic barbell + weights, mats, etc.

Besides the obvious longterm money savings, being able to go to the gym anytime and not deal with traffic or genpop is something money can't buy.
>>

>is something money can't buy.
but you used money to achieve that

Why Americans spend so much on home gym? You only need 100-200 dollars for good home gym.
Pull up + dip station. Adjustable dumbbells. Nothing more needed.

50 dollars

Because I have the space and the expendable income. I can turn part of my house into a commercial gym with the luxuries that come with it without impacting my living space or wallet. This is a concept that Eutopoors and tirdies have a huge issue understanding.
