If you ain't farting, you ain't eating enough fiber.

I fart so much all the time it's unreal. At the gym there's just a cloud of farts around me at any given time.
At work I fart into my office chair non stop.
I get home and run up the stairs and every other step I fart.
I... fart.
>>
>>76661197
Nobody should be consuming fiber.
>>
>>76661234

Every breath I take,
And every move I make,
All the wind I break,
Every step I take,
I'll be farting too.

I love stuff like this. It's the same group of people that think the world is flat - they just ignore the scientific consensus in favour of some fringe scientist. Same with anti-vaxxers. One crackpot says they cause autism or whatever, 99% of all other scientists say it doesn't, so let's believe the guy that says it does. Where's the logic in that? Why do you choose to believe one guy that says fiber is bad, when all the other nutritionists say it's good?
>>
>>76661356
nta but because there is no good evidence fiber is uniquely beneficial except arguably soluble fiber in IBD. Pur gut is more adapted for animal foods not fibrous plant foods relative to the gut anatomy of our closest ape relatives (smaller large intestine, larger small intestine, smaller gut in general, etc). Nutrition is not a real science its closer to religion. Nutrition science for the most part ignores anatomy evolution and other fields of real science

and to add every theory starts out as fringe. Whether its accepted by consensus or not has no bearing on its veracity. Science is not a popularity contest of how many people like a hypothesis

I appreciate you thought about what you said and didn't just call me a kike or whatever.
I can see the pushing of fiber being a thing promoted by cereal companies.
Yes, many ideas start out as fringe, but most fringe ideas fail under scrutiny. The ones that survive become consensus because they consistently withstand replication, falsification attempts, and have multiple lines of evidence. I agree it's not a popularity contest, but it IS the convergence of independent data. Consensus is the best current approximation of truth based on the weight of evidence. The reason consensus exists is because that hypothesis has passed the most testing. I'm not saying to outright reject fringe ideas, I'm saying consensus does matter, to say it has no bearing on its veracity is just wrong. Consensus (in the scientific field) literally tells us which ideas didn't collapse.

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0261561423003631?utm_source=chatgpt.com (~17% lower CHD mortality)

https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/nutrition/articles/10.3389/fnut.2023.1153165/full?utm_source=chatgpt.com - inverse associations with mortality.

The current data shows populations with higher fiber intake have fewer incidents of inflammation and colorectal cancer.

I imagine it's personal. The same way some people are lactose intolerant or get more gas than others, and it's a good idea to experiment, but "nobody should be consuming fiber" is retarded.

FARTING ON MY TROON MATE'S BOARD

you seemed to be replying in good faith so i responded in kind. as to falsification attempts to do with fiber and CVD/mortality havent been done beyond rare exceptions (WHI trial) presumably due to cost/feasibility. thats not to say we have definitively "proved" fiber has no benefit such a thing isnt largely possible outside of math but the RCT evidence in my view isnt very compelling one way or the other outside of specific things like IBS/IBD as I mentioned before. its possible there is benefit to fiber consumption but the RCTs have not been done that demonstrate it in my view. just ate some sourdough bread with my eggs and i feel fine so ill keep doing what im doing until something changes my mind

No thanks, I'm not mentally ill

>you don't think humans should consume indigestible plant matter that provably irritates the bowels and causes all sorts of diseases?! YOURE A FLAT EARTHER ANTIVAXXER RACIST TRUMP SUPPORTER

Lucky for you science isn't about science anymore either.

the lumping together of flat earth and skepticism of conventional nutrition wisdom was a bit grating for me as well but i dont think it was done with ill intent and anon continued the conversation respectfully here >>76661654 and you should as well should you have anything intelligent to add

Oatmeal makes me fart like crazy but I don’t know what else to eat at work.
>>
>>76661392
Fiber is the only thing that reaches your actual gut, retard.
>>
>>76662163
what you mean to say is fiber is the only thing that reaches the large intestine mostly unchanged. this is also not true. there are some insoluble proteins what you might call gristle on certain cuts of steak arent digested as are certain sugar alcohols as well. not even sure what you point is here or how it relates to what i said but thanks for the comment, retard
>>
>>76662209
ok retard, I'm sure everything you listed is so much better than fiber
>>
>>76662221
i didnt say they were or werent. no need to get so upset over nothing
>>
>>76662148
Oatmeal doesn't make me fart at all - how do you prepare it? I don't use regular milk anymore - I stopped consuming milk in my 20s and I think I've become lactose intolerant as a result. I use one of those vegan milks (inb4 vegan fag - I'm not vegan) and I have 100g of dry oats in a serving which is quite a lot. It could be milk, if that's what you make it with. Just try oat milk or pea milk or something and see if it makes any difference.

I have this problem and I was mostly able to fix it by fasting and supplementing psyllium. If I have to work the next day, I do not eat anything after dinner (6-7 PM) and just take teaspoon of psyllium before bed and in the morning.

Honestly, I don't even know why I expected you to give a legitimate answer.
