If you like training to failure flat bench (or really any kind of barbell bench) is more trouble than its worth
Haven't done it in a few years. Hurt myself one time on it, don't know exactly what. But the pain only ever comes back on flat barbell press, nothing else triggers it and it also hasn't gotten better even years later when I test it.
Same I am just on the chest press machine now. Shoulders just start hurting too easily
