Are these a scam?
>>
yep I think so. If collagen was so useful for your skin, people would have figured this out a long time ago. It has been around for forever
>>
>>76662679
Just eat jello and stewed meats
>>
Yes, you need hydrolyzed collagen, dissolved in boiling water
>>
>>76662679
any candified "gummy" supplement is a scam and probably contains 0% active ingredient
>>
>>76662679
The big question here is, does dietary collagen = collagen in your skin
Maybe I'll ask the robots
>>
>>76662679
Why tf would would you want to glow? Are you a homosexual?
>>
>>76662679
Why are white people obsessed with eating everything in gummie format? Nigga, just eat food
>>
Supplement gimmicks like gummies are almost always a scam, because they overcharge the shit out of you relative to the quantity and ingredient quality can be suspect at best.
>>
Don't know about the gummy part of it, but I've been taking collagen and my knee stopped hurting when squatting.

>inb4 placebo
Not an argument
>>
>>76662679
Probably overpriced compared to a powder, but shit does work.

>>76664822
Collagen just isn't that concentrated in food. Sure you can eat chicken skins and beef tendons and shit, but I mostly just put the pepetide powder into jello.
>>
>>76664963
Ok then whats your excuse for vitamin and creatine gummies
>>
>>76664963
So are you going to actually answer his question
>>
>>76662679
Yes they are a scam. They contain less than a gram of collagen.
>>76662704
They did figure it out and it is useful.
>>76664714
Yes it does
>>
>>76665342
>Yes it does
But does it = more collagen for your skin when compared to consumption of other proteins that net you equivalent amino acids? I doubt it. If you compare it to a control group or to some other experimental group eating a shitty protein source maybe you see some effect. But I can’t imagine people aren’t better off simply consuming more higher quality proteins. Collagen’s actual amino acid profile is pitiful.
>>
>>76665519
Speculation
>>
>>76664951
I used to be able to click my left knee on command as a party trick, and that went away after I started drinking bone broth.
>>
>>76665519
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32436266/ yes it does. But go ahead and say some stupid shit about eating raw liver and ignore specificity.
>>
>>76666075
I'm literally too fucking retarded to understand a scientific study

Will it help my skin? Gelatin works?
>>
>>76666126
Yes x2 regular gelatin just kinda low-collagen overall.
>>
>>76666168
>x2 regular gelatin
I should eat two gelatin packages?
>>
Guys can I just eat jello
>>
>>76666168
Ignore this retard.
>>76666126
>>76666264
Yes taking collagen precursors will make your skin noticeably smoother and your joints hurt less. Just try it out and you'll see the difference in like a month honestly. Naked advanced is pretty good and so is Vital farms
>>
>>76666075
Do you have a specific primary source citation that collagen performs better than an amino acid matched (or superior amino acid profile) protein?
>>
>>76666352
>does collagen perform better than an amino acid match
>amino acid matched
Collagen is amino acids you fucking retard. If you matched the amino acids you would have.....Collagen. How can you be this stupid? Someone should study you.
>>
>>76666374
Maybe could have explained it better, I'm talking about a protein that will give you a (roughly) equal or greater amount of the amino acids present in collagen. Not necessarily the exact same amino acid profile. Do you have a primary source for research on this? I ask because this is would be essential to determine whether there is something specific to collagen that provides the benefit studies show in skin or if it's just a matter of the subjects receiving a greater amount of amino acids required to produce collagen (and therefore, any sufficiently quality protein would have the same or a greater effect)
>>
>>76666333
Why my post has a (you) on your screenshot?
>Yes taking collagen precursors will make your skin noticeably smoother and your joints hurt less. Just try it out and you'll see the difference in like a month honestly. Naked advanced is pretty good and so is Vital farms
My joints are fine but I think my skin could get some help.

I'm a third worlder tho. So expensive supplements aren't for me
>>
>>76662679
definetly a scam since you can just throw some beef bones in the pressure cooker for 30 minutes for collagen and much more
>>
>>76666551
What are your thoughts on cow's eyes?
>>
>>76666561
I follow what this schizo says, organ meats are supposedly high in toxins https://www.drlwilson.com/ARTICLES/FOOD.DAILY.htm
>>
>>76662861
Is gelatin dissolved in boiling water the same thing?
>>
>>76662679

Powders are a scam so that industry can make a profit. Taking these is a net negative.
>>
>>76666575

They are highly toxic from normal animals which have bad living circumstances and lots of toxins and stress.
From well kept animals they are good for the body. Nonetheless I wouldn't eat too much of it.
>>
>>76662679
Yes, and literally 100s of Youtube videos have already been made about these scams, so why are you still asking the question?
>>
>>76662679
If you eat hair, your body doesn't say
>Oh sick, fast track that through to the scalp

If you eat collagen or gelatine it just gets broken down as protein
>>
>>76667556
>If you eat collagen or gelatine it just gets broken down as protein
Yeah, that's how digestion works. Did you have a point?
>>
>>76662679
I thought for the longest time vitamin gummies were BS, but I no longer think that's the case. calcium + d3 helped healed my sports hernia and muscle strains. I don't know if collagen gummies work.
>>
>>76662704
I regrow hair when i lose it to stress and sleep deprivation by eating vitamins fats and collagens(protein) and being on a bulk without going insane at the gym until at a deficit.
>>
>>76669346
>collagen being a protein
You barely get any protein synthesis unless at a surplus for multiple days on a row. Ill get mpd balding not just thinning and yeah suck it again hungrycucks, you only lose mostly fat for so many days after being high bmr.
>>
Just use tretinoin
>>
They say glycine helps with longevity
>>
Is there any point in collagen if you're in your twenties? I can see the use for when I'm old and naturally low in collagen, but it feels like a waste of money when your young.
>>
>>76662679
yes you need 10g a day minimum and you're not getting that in gummies
>>
>>76666699
No, hydrolized means its been broken down into the smallest indigestible parts, but i go a step futher and boil it, so its definitely absorbed.

Making your own collagen means it isn't hydrolized, so less effective.
>>
>>76669649
I've seen slight improvements in skin texture even after a single large dose.
